Gym was not available for use much to my annoyance. Have paid far less for comparable and better IHG hotels in the UK recently. Would not recommend. December 15, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Our first stay at this hotel - enjoyed it very much! It was the first time we have stayed at the Holiday Inn Kenilworth, and we have no complaints. The staff greeted us on arrival and made us welcome. If you are a disabled person booking, I would make it clear as it can be quite a walk to some of the rooms. However, the guest rooms were clean and tidy, quite large compared to some Holiday Inns we have been to, and with two double beds in our room, there was room to spread out. The restaurant is a mix of styles - Holiday Inn Express/Holiday Inn, but the restaurant was warm and tidy and not over crowded at the time of our visit. The reception area was not 'super sized' but adequate, with a small bar and lounge area behind. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and would use it again. The only issue we have found with this hotel is that it is sometimes dearer than other Holiday Inn hotels in the area and it has no swimming pool - which when we travel with our 7 year old grand daughter is a big plus with some of the other hotels. However, their 'double' bed' is only 4'6" which is not wide enough for a couple to have a decent, restful, night's sleep. Lighting was also very poor; very difficult to read anything. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A Mis-representation We stayed as a couple on the Weekend Break tariff. On arrival, check-in was efficient and the staff friendly. We chose to have the inclusive dinner on Friday night and were told we would be given an allowance of £15 towards the cost. This was NOT on the booking confirmation where the Rate Description says: ...."full English breakfast each morning and dinner in the restaurant on one evening of your choice from our Weekend Break menu" In any hotel chain this would mean a choice of starter, main course and a dessert. Sometimes an allowance is made for choosing from a different menu, but this wasn't the case, there was only one menu. The receptionist did point out that most of the main courses were around or less than £15, but that is not the point.We chose a starter, but didn't have a dessert because we felt aggrieved at having to spend more money .The excess was refunded when I pointed this out to the receptionist, who said she would get management to look into it. All I can say is beware and read carefully what is on your booking confirmation. Our room was clean and nicely furnished, although we found the double bed rather small and uncomfortable. The hotel is well positioned for the town and facilities, but a wedding on the Saturday meant we couldn't park in the car park and were disturbed by the noise. It didn't help that one female guest, possibly drunk, woke us at 7.30 on Sunday shouting and screaming obscenities under our window for at least 15 minutes. Management seemed unable to do anything about it. A rather disappointing stay all round for us, but we may have been unlucky. Previous stays at other Hoiday Inns have been good. December 4, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality room We booked early to take advantage of the lower price offer. The room was comfortable and well furnished with plenty of all the usual tea/ coffee/ biscuits. There was an additional pack for the kids (not sure if this is because I am an IHG member!). They really liked the comic and colouring selection in it - nice touch. The heating system does tick a bit, but overall a good nights kip after a busy day. December 4, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good experience, with staff helping me with my electric razor I am used to stay at this hotel, very convenient in the center of Kenilworth, at walking distance of plenty of restaurants. I had a problem with my electric razor, not being able to get electricity when plugged into the wall power in the bathroom. Staff looked at it and identified a problem with the plug of my razor. The 2 pins are metallic only in the end, but in plastic close to the plug. Wall power expects the opposite. It seems guys designing wall power did not discuss with guys designing electric razor plug. :-( Finally, staff lent to me an adaptor and problem was fixed, many thanks for the analysis and solution provided.
