Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Owain Comfortable room - very clean but very warm !
Enjoyed our stay - have been to many hotels and some of the staff were the politest I have ever known. Food was good - drinks were very reasonably priced for a hotel ( some places take advantage by over charging ) Would recommend - clean comfortable and very warm - AC needed servicing - This is my only grumble and i'm not easy to please

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KMTTTTTT Great staff who put the customer at the heart of every interaction
I regularly use the Holiday Inn chain of hotels and must say this one is at the top of my list. It was down to the attentive staff who made me feel very welcome and additionally wanted to go the extra mile at every touch point. An example was when I couldn't access wifi, the receptionist offered to came to my room to assist, when she was unsucessful she didn't stop there, instead she continued to search for a solution which included contacting an off duty colleague. This is just one example of the superior service I experienced at this hotel. Thank you.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bigwig1947 Nice Breakfast but that is all!
We have stayed at Holiday Inn Kenilworth both December 2012 and in February 2013 only having returned due to the convenient location. The staff generally try quite hard to please but the fabric of the building does not lend itself to a comfortable vacation. On a bitterly cold weekend in February room 415 was like a fridge and my daughters room 212 was like a sauna! The heating system is ready for complete overhaul. The soft furnishings in the bar area are completely worn out and one of the sofas is actually dangerous in that there is no padding under the fabric on the wooden frame. The bar area is also very cold with a very stiff wind coming from the entrance doors on each occasion that the smokers come in and out to the party function room. Secondary doors are required at entrance to the bar area. The bar service is very poor. The (very junior) bar staff try hard but management must be very poor. No Baileys available on a Saturday night, it all apparently having been consumed on the Friday but no replacement provided. Asked for three cappuchino coffees on Saturday night, it took the staff twenty minutes to provide with each coming at seven minute intervals. The first was cold before the the third arrived! Explained as a problem with equipment which obviously is worn out. And just don't ask for a hot chocolate because you will be even more disappointed!
The only quite good feature of the hotel was the one evening meal and our breakfasts which were very enjoyable though quite expensive.
On our second visit in February we were not recognised as Priority Club Members and our room was not ready on arrival till 3pm. However we were supplied with complimentary tea whilst waiting.
I will be looking for alternative accomodation on our next visit to Kenilworth.

Overall I like staying here when I am on business in the area. The rooms are comfortable and I always get a good nights sleep though the pillows could be softer.
It's a business hotel so no character but also no problems staying there which is what you want - no hassle. The service is minimal in the sense that it is not friendly and staff don't go out of their way to help but they are not rude either and are unobtrusive which I quite like.
My main criticism is that the menu does not change, so if you stay often as I do you quickly get tired of the food, but there are ther places to eat in Kenilworth.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rob7064 Good location, average hotel
Location is very good for Kenilworth and surrounding area. Rooms a little small, and strangely layed out. Fairly comfortable, and very clean.
No business center at hotel - not even the ability to print boarding passes. Really needed these days.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hxxx manager with ambitions
This is the kind of hotel with no atmosphere.
A manager that rather threaten to fine the guests than talking with them.
A reception that is only allowed to do what the American IT system allows
Clean and well refurbished, with an aircondition that is noisy and either too cold or too warm
A worn down staircase and 2 slow elevator
Little water in the shower if you happen to be above 3’d floor.

This hotel has a great service and has a great atmosphere, although we upgraded to an Executive room this does not make the pillows or bed softer than a standard room, so really not worth the extra money upgrading.

Poor to note that as a platinum priority club member i was being offered discount on a rather expensive internet service which most other hotels provide as free. Also note the free half hour access has been done away with since my last visit.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by DaveB NIce location - clean and modern
I had read other reports stating that the staff were good but put little value on Priority club. I hoped this would not be the case but on arrival I noted that my Priority Club number was not logged. This was despite it being clearly noted on the form as sent by my booking agent. Subsequently I did not get any platinum benefits.
Rooms are smaller than average but clean and modern. There is an adjacent starbucks which is useful.
Overall a nice hotel in a nice town.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by DK1927 No minibar in the room and absolutelly small gym.
I would put only the location of hotel as Pros. The rest is not that good as expected for such hotels. Surpizing that no minibar in the room. The mini gym is really MINI. Maximum for two people and running machine need definetelly to be change (old and noisy).

My work brings me to the Coventry area for a few days every few weeks. My hotel choice is always Holiday Inn and always Kenilworth. All of the hotel staff and management are friendly and respond quickly to any minor issues (heating/cooling etc) that have effected me. Breakfast is good and adequate but less than some other hotels and Holiday Inns. Rooms are clean and generally a decent size. I've even been in room 001, a disabled room when the hotel was full. This room is massive!
Away from the hotel, Kenilworth town offers great evening entertainment with a few pubs, supermarkets, good choice of restaurant and a very locat bar/restaurant. By day there are some great walks and historic sights. The only downside for me is there are no rooms with a fridge which is very handy when staying 3 or 4 nights.

UNFORTUNATELY NOT OUR BEST EXPERIENCE. IT WAS NOT UNTIL AFTER WE WERE IN BED THAT IT BECAME APPARENT THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER/HEATER HAD AN ANNOYING RATTLE DISTURBING OUR SLEEP AND WAS NOT GOING TO STOP. BY THIS TIME WE COULD NOT FACE DRESSING, REPACKING AND MOVING ROOMS IF IN FACT ONE WAS AVAILABLE.
ON BOOKING OUT WE WERE NOT TOLD THAT WE NEEDED THE GATE KEY CODE TO LEAVE THE SITE, THIS HAD BEEN HANDED IN WITH THE KEY. ON ARRIVING AT THE GATE WE FOUND THREE OTHER GUESTS IN A SIMILAR POSITION AND MY WIFE HAD TO WALK BACK TO RECEPTION TO ASK THEM FOR A CODE.
STAFF GENERALLY APPEARED TO BE MUCH LESS HELPFUL AND WELCOMING THAN OUR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES AT HOLIDAY INN EXPRESSES.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BDR51 Nice hotel and well located.
We have stayed here before and the hotel remains modern, clean and right in the middle of the town which makes it handy for everything. Rooms clean and well laid out. Staff helpful and friendly. Try and get a deal with breakfast included as at £14 per head there are cheaper alternatives across the road.

I am having to work in Coventry for the next few months and have been staying in the Holiday Inn Kenilworth.
What a great hotel this is!! The staff are very polite, professional and always willing to help.
The hotel is in a great location for easy access into Kenilworth and Coventry itself.
My room was immaculate and extremely comfortable and the breakfast was pretty good too!!
Overall I am very impressed with this hotel and I will look forward to spending many more pleasant nights staying here in the future.
