In the washroom there were towels with stains that look like caused by coffee.
Although we paid extra for the breakfast, we had to go back and ask for the breaskfast coupon, didn't provide us when we were checking in.
The waitress who helped us was nice.
Unless for the location the price is bit higher for the overall experience.

We thought we had booked a room on line that had breakfast included. As we use Holiday Inn in the USA often and has been included. The first day we went down for breakfast, the server asked us for our coupons and she said you get 1 free breakfast. I went to the front desk clerk and asked if she had made a mistake as we were staying for 5 nights. She said in a not so nice tone to go to the web site and read the fine print.
The 2 treadmills were old and on our last day there, I could not get either one to work.
When we arrived they offered a free juice, water, pop or chip.. but again only 1.
Service elevator was near our room and the staff were really noisy with its use.

I love the location of this property and my stays here are always good. On my last two stays, I did notice that room cleaning clearly does not include the balconies. On my stay of 28 April, there was a pigeon's nest (with the bird still nesting# on the balcony #2nd floor overlooking the patio) and on the stay of 4 May, there were piles of dead insects.

IHG has invited me to review the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront and therefore they will get a brutally honest experience from me. I travel frequently for my career and as a result I stay at this property on a very regular basis. So here goes; The staff at this Holiday Inn make this hotel what it is. They are cheerful, attentive and always ready to assist if required. The rooms have the most comfortable beds ever. The internet is fast and easy, the TV has a good variety of channels and the fridge in each room is much appreciated to keep any beverages cold. I stay there during the week and the floors are generally quiet at night to ensure a good nights sleep. The most important factors for me in a hotel stay is a clean comfortable room with helpful staff. This hotel delivers on those issues at the highest level. The staff in the dining room to the chambermaids to the maintenance staff all have a friendly demeanour that makes you feel welcome. The front desk staff are so welcoming and friendly as is the Management that frequent the lobby area to ensure all is well. The location of this hotel is al so a major plus. It is right on the water and a close walking distance to downtown and its many restaurants. I only have one wish and that is thet every hotel could be like this one.

My wife and I recently styed here. We were planning on having breakfeast and then check out. Well the bed was so comfortable we slept in until 10:45, so missed breakfeast. The night before we had dinner and I had one of the nicest steaks ever.

I don't understand Holiday Inn's logic. It's a Friday night. We just got out of a concert from across the street at the arena and we're back at the hotel, so we figure we will go to the hotel's bar.
We get there at 10:55 p.m. only to find out that the bar is closing at 11:00 p.m. We did manage to get a drink from the disgruntled bartender. We had to guzzle down the drinks.
Come on Holiday Inn, try to get you bar's hours of operation more in line with the provincial standards. Don't you want our money?

I regularly stay at the HI in Kingston for business. The location is ideal and I enjoy my morning and evening walks along the waterfront and city street. The building are amazing. The staff are very pleasant and the food in the restaurant is excellent.

My husband and I were very happy with our room. We were in a waterfront room with a king size bed. The view was pretty. The room was lovely and comfortable. I love the options for firm and soft pillows. Having a mini fridge in the room was also a nice feature, as was the free wi-fi.
We had dinner at the Dox restaurant (one of the best burgers I've ever had) and breakfast there the next morning and the food was fantastic. Terrific, friendly staff. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

We have stayed here twice before and will definitely stay here again on our next visit. Great location in Kingston. Everything is within walking distance. Lovely view of the water from your room also.

this is my third stay great location excelent staff service the cleaning ladie on or floor was awsome willing to get what ever you need the breakfast was good but buffet , would have preferd an option but was hot and fresh well be staying here again

We had an Executive King Suite which was spacious and comfortable with a gorgeous view of Kingston's harbour.
We were a little concerned that there were several families with young children (hockey tournament in town) on our floor, but we did not hear any noise early in the mornings.
One complaint (that almost every review has) is the $14.00 for parking. Particularly after paying so much for a room.
Also, I have a complaint with IHG (not Holiday Inn) in that Priority Points are not granted unless you book through their site. Unfortunately, when I made my booking, their website showed no rooms available. But I did get late checkout and an arrival gift. Thank you!

Overall our stay was okay. The best part was the food in the Dox Restaurant which was delicious.Upon registration, when presented with our Priority membership we were not offered an upgrade but merely a choice of a bag of chips or granola bar. A very simple request for an additional coffee mug in the room was ignored and there was an obvious absence of hospitality items in the bathroom. The rooms are starting to look old with the exception of the bedding. For what is charged for a single night you do not get what you pay for.

The front desk staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the local ammenities/attractions. The room was very clean, modern, and comfortable. On the downside, I did not enjoy the food at all. I paid $45 for a steak dinner and the steak itself was 'off' (I made sure it wasn't the steak sauce or marinade). I brought it to the waiters attention, however no offer to remake another or remove it from my bill was made. I just wouldn't eat there again.

Holiday Inn Kingston is conveniently located in the heart of downtown. This quaint lakeside city is teaming with history and old-world charm. My room provided an excellent view of the lake and frozen harbor. The king suite was comfortably appointed with a flat screen TV and fridge, but was missing a microwave. The washroom included radiant heated tile floors, which were a nice touch. I enjoyed the experience and look forward to visiting in the summer.

I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront on two separate occasions for a week each time while in Kingston on business. I thought that it was a great hotel the first time and this thought was confirmed with my second stay! My room was large, clean and comfortable each time, I loved having a balcony (even though it was winter), the view was great and the location was within easy walking distance of downtown! The bar/restaurant in the hotel was decent and the Tuesday night free hors d'oeuvres and drink at the bar as part of Customer Appreciation night was a pleasant surprise each time! All in all, a great getaway and the price was reasonable. My only complaint would be that the business centre consisted of a computer at a desk in a hallway that was busy at times, and was closed after 10 PM! Otherwise, it was a great stay and the next time I am down for business, I will most likely be staying here again.

This property's staff is the epitome of why i am an IHG Ambassador/Gold/whatever else they call it. They have the best desk staff and room service staff. Very friendly and accommodating. I brought the wrong USB cable for my mobi and they offered their personal one.

Stayed there for "the Scotties" . Busy place because of the extra people in town... no delays for anything. Great location. We looked out on the water, not sure if all rooms do. Room was very well appointed and one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in. Buffet breakfast plenty of choice. Lunch well priced and tasty.

Very nice room, comfortable beds. Great view with balcony that was accessible through glass doors. Really nice pool. Location is great, close to town centre and K-rock centre. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but it looked very cosy and the menu looked good.
Our room had a strange smell on arrival, but that is probably just a one-off issue, the rest of the hotel was clean and fresh.

Hi There,
The beds were comfy and the view lovely. The staff is always very accommodating. One problem - when we arrived, we noticed the bath tub was not very clean, quite grey and looked like it needed a good scrub...hairs on the shower curtain (not from us). We mentioned it to he front desk and they said they would send in housekeeping. Though our towells were refolded, the bath tub looked the same.
i have stayed at the Holiday Inn many times and it is usually quite clean.

I gave the Value a average rating because I know what the room typically costs for the night even though I got a government rate. The beds were quite excellent and comfortable, however, most of the rest of the room needs renovating. The decor (both in the rooms and halls) is slightly dated and the plumbing in our room was horrible. The sink would continue running if the tap wasn't at a certain setting and one almost required a PhD to operate the shower controls. Staff was excellent and accommodating. At the price of the rooms, I'd think the cost for parking could be reduced.

We enjoyed our stay as the service and room were good. Our stay would have been better had there been hot water in our room. As we were there only one night we made the best of it instead of asking for another room.

I usually stay for a few days a month on business. The location is great in the summer time when the streets are buzzing. The waterfront is beautiful. A great place for an evening stroll along the waterfront. The Restaurant in the hotel has excellent food. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.

We went to the Holiday Inn Harbourfront for Christmas, and appreciated the fact that we were able to get adjoining rooms and bring our dog as well. Christmas buffet was good value for money despite the long line ups to get in. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Nice view.

The water from the taps was so strongly chlorinated that you could not drink it. We tried making coffee and it was undrinkable too.
If they can not provide good drinking water then bottled water should be provided at least to make the coffee in the morning.
My sister and her husband in the next room had the same problem.

This is my second stay. The room rates seem a little high but that is probably due to the waterfront location. Hotel is within walking distance to The Grand Theatre which was my destination. Room was clean, quiet, with a view of the harbour. Would stay again.

Everything you would expect from a HolidayInnn except it is in an exceptional location jutting out into the harbour. Walking distance to all of Kingston's downtown and University amenities.
Buffet breakfast was included and well done.

Visit started with an unfriendly front desk and most of the staff gave us surly looks while they smoked outside near the lobby entrance. Lobby is small and poorly appointed. Hallway and room carpet was stained. Room was not not cleaned well in corners, window was dirty, and balcony was filthy. Room was dark and not at all cheerful. Asked for lotion, kept getting conditioner. Overall, very disappointed.
