I am using this hotel quite often and I have been always very chuffed. Hotel location is very good. Hotel staff is very friendly. The renovation project is creating some disturbance, but is not any major issue.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Val09 Great room, staff very friendly and food good.
The Hotel could not be better sighted to walk everywhere for sightseeing and restaurants and entertainment. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and tea/coffee making facilities and bottled water was constantly replenished free.
The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful.
We can't rate this Hotel highly enough and will certainly return as it is a beautiful clean city, very welcoming to tourists.

Had a great room and stay but I wish I had been more careful with the breakfast. The price was way above market for a breakfast in Krakow. In fact, that's the price I would have expected to pay in London! Other that that, a great place, location and stay.

The renovation made the stay a bit less then my previous stays... Breakfast and room service was limited... The former is in a meeting room so seating is tight and presentation not well done as before when it was in a proper setting...Full room service was only availble from 1800 to 2400 vs. cold cuts and cheese the rest of the time... As was the gym only open from 0700 to 2200... And limited English TV... Hopefully things will get back to normal when the renovation is done...

We staye for 4 days last week. The hotel is undergoing a fairly major renovation at the moment which makes things a bit difficult. Its definatly not a 5 star hotel at present.
The plus points first. the staff were excellent. The location of the hotel is also excellent for exploring Krakow. The cleanliness of the hotel, given that a lot of it is a building site is also very high.
The down side is that the facilities are not at present good. the breakfast area is very limited by the fact that the resturant is not in use and a conferance room is bing used. Whilst the staff were very good the selection is not up to normal Holiday inn standards.
The bar is very small and a bit restricted at the moment. We had a a room, on the 6th floor which was fine, with w reasonable view. However, given it was a 5 star hotel, I'd have liked a room with a bath, rather than just a shower. Given that the hotel isnt particularly busy at present, I would have thought that upgrading visitors to better rooms if possible to make up for the inconvenience should be more normal. The room (602),was very very clean. The down side of the room, was that as well as no bath, its very small, the bed was soft to the point of being uncomfortable, past its best, and certainly nowhere near as good as other holiday Inns i've used. The bed in the Holiday Inn express at stansted I staying the night before flying out was certainly better and more comfortable
Also, if you are going to claim that you provide Satalite TV, put some english channels on it. There was only one, out of 30 channels, BBC world news, probaly the worst and most uninteresting english TV channel going. And that stopped working half way through the stay anyway. It cant be to hard to get a couple of BBC or Sky free channels put on.
The staff however were excellent. Clearly trying hard in difficult circumstances.
I've used a few IHG hotels in europe and this was disapointing

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by D7007 New Years Eve Break
We arrived with four teenagers to experience the New Year Eve in Krakow.
Checking in early, the reception staff were very kind, even they were so busy with guests. Although we couldn't have all 3 rooms close together, we were not too far apart.
The hotel is a short 5 minute wok to the Old Town. We paid for the Bed and breakfast rate well worth it with hungry teenagers, with a good selection of hot and cold food and juices. As a caffeine addict I don't like the self serve coffee machines, everyone else was ok with the tea and coffee though.
The concierge desk arranged a trip for us, advising on the best time to go, payment being taken there and then.
Bar staff were friendly, but the bar is strangely set up and difficult for the waiting/ bar staff to know you need drinks once your seated.
All in all an enjoyable break, in a well appointed, clean, friendly hotel.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by MrDN Dissapointing service at the reception
We stay in this hotel at least a few times a year. It was usually ok. However, on Jan 4/5 our welcome at reception wasn't pleasant at all. The receptionist, a man, seemed not to know what it means to be Priority Club Member. I have platinum status, but was informed that I may have free cable internet in the room, but will have to pay for the wireless. The whole process of checking in was very slow. Our keys didn't work, so we had to return to have them programed properly. Maybe, it was our bad luck. Comparing Cracow's Holiday Inn to others, especialy in North America, shows how much work has to be still put into the customer service training.
