Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bathroom bathtub was disgusting! When we go to hotels we expect to be able to take a shower an not have water pool around your feet. My husband took the first shower and the tub filled up as if he was taking a bath. When he looked at the drain it was plugged up with hair and other stuff. He works in a hardware store so was able to come up with a way, using paper from an old magazine I had, to get what he could out of the drain so that when I took a shower that it didn't do the same to me. The bathroom sink area doesn't have enough room on it to put both your husband's and your toilitries on it, so I had to keep most of my items in my bag and work out of that in the morning. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a Good Stay Although the location of this hotel is downtown near everything, there are some problems. Parking is a nightmare. One must navigate two blocks worth of one way streets to drive from the parking ramp, which you have to pay extra for, to the front of the hotel. We reserved a handicap access room with a king size bed. The staff screwed up the reservation and gave us a queen size bed with handicap. Then, when I asked for a King size, the staff member agreed to "give me the upgrade for no extra charge." The keys were only keyed for a single day, and we stayed for two, so could not get back into the room until I took the keys back to the front desk and had them re-keyed. The food was pretty good. Room service is available from the nearby restaurant for a price. It's a bit expensive but it was good food. Over all not pleased, will not stay there again. October 29, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel great, restaurant not so much. We went to the hotel restaurant prior to checking out on Saturday morning. The sign read "wait to be seated", but there was no one there to seat anyone. As the line grew behind us, we all waited for several minutes for anyone to show up to seat us. Once we were seated, no one waited on us, even though people who were behind us in line were promptly waited on. We finally left and had breakfast elsewhere. October 29, 2014

It is close to the water-front park, gardens and the La Crosse Queen dock. Also the location is convenient to the downtown restaurants, bars and shops...very nice to have everything within walking distance. Our room was quiet, clean and the bed comfortable. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by expensive , without parking or breakfast and awful fitness center This was more expensive that average and without a reason in my opinion. Facility is old, room was smelly and I was even charged for a parking spot away from the hotel that was actually cheaper if you pay to parking machine. Breakfast was less than poor, the kitchen was short of everything and the fruit was rotten. Very bad experience, would never use it again, I rather stay in Onalaska, way better service for the same or less price. Fitness center was a joke! October 19, 2014

Our bartender in the lounge, Dustin, was especially attentive, accommodating, and fun. I would certainly be comfortable recommending this hotel to others and staying there again the next time I visit La Crosse. October 19, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Parking problem When we tried to leave in the morning, we couldn't get out of the parking lot. The machine wouldn't accept our validated parking ticket and the gate wouldn't go up. I went to the front desk, and the attendant was completely indifferent and rude. He said there was nothing he could do about it and i should just lift the gate. I was unable to lift the gate, so had to pay $6 to get out of the lot. Also, my room stunk of cigarette smoke terribly. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional Staff I have made a yearly trip to La Crosse for the past 15 years accompanying Japanese university students on a short-stay education program, Each time, we make it a point to stay at the Holiday Inn Pearl Street. One of the many positive aspects that I appreciate most of all about this Holiday Inn is the excellent and exceptional service the staff provides. Because my group is made up of non-native English speakers, there is sometimes some difficulty in communicating in English, but the front desk staff is always so patient and kind, making my students feel welcomed. The staff, as a whole (from the restaurant to housekeeping), is friendly and helpful, assisting with (almost anticipating) any needs that we, the guests, may have. It appears that the hotel will undergo a complete and full renovation during the next year, so I look forward to our next visit to see all of the changes. October 7, 2014
