Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Renovate or change name of hotel This is one of the worst Holiday Inns that I have ever stayed at. The halls and common areas were dirty, room was dirt and in disrepair. The bed had a very uncomfortable mattress that had a low spot in the middle and my wife and I kept falling into the low area. HVAC was loud. Bathroom was nasty. Pool and hot tub were brown and something in the water made my kids itch. The staff was rude. I will never stay at this location again and will let anyone that is thinking about staying to travel to Hampton Inn or up to Winona to stay. August 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Front Desk Staff Rude and Overpriced So I decied to bring my wife on a work trip with me and to stay down town La Crosse so we could walk around. The rate was higher than normal, so I figured it should be a nice hotel. Got into the room and it smelled musty, figured the AC would help, the AC made so much noise and really didnt even cool the room much. So I take a shower in the morning and the water is draining slow. When my wife uses the toliet it wont flush, plus the water is still in the tube. She calls down to have them fix it. They come up to room and tell us this happens in this room very often. I get back and the room stills smells musty. The sink in the bathroom has been painted, the decor of the entire room is depressing and very dark as some of the lights do not work. The mini fridge did not get cold. Couch was uncomfortable, internet was the slowest I have seen in a long time. Ok, location is great however a bad room does not make up for it. So the night before we are to check out I am getting ready to ask the front desk person a question however there is someone in front asking a few questions. The person at the front desk was not taking the person on front of me serious and just keep telling him uh ya, uh ya well look into that. Then he told the customer that they are currently having staffing issues as they are firing allot of people right now so the manager is busy. (Gets better) Wrote some notes down, the guys phone number and such then once the person let he tossed it in the trash with a very smug attitude. Then I ask for a late checkout as a PC member. I was told they would charge me if I wanbted to do that and he couldnt do that I would have to see the moring office staff at 8am, I told him normally this is not a issue, he didnt say anything. My wife was standing right there and was very upset, same as me. Last time I ever stay there as well as my travel dept has been made aware. I am guessing this is allowed to go on because of managment, everything rolls downhill. Could be wrong. August 20, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Will not return to this location I travel to La Crosse for business often and typically stay across the street from this hotel. Given my IHG membership, I decided to try the Holiday Inn and immediately regretted my decision after check in. The room was outdated, I could hear a screeching sound every time the room next door used their water and the hotel gym was small, hot and had no water. I'll be returning to the other hotel upon on my next visit to the area. August 20, 2014

Our breakfast was not included for this stay, but had a good room service selection if needed. Parking in ramp was good. Proximity to downtown shops and resturants was excellent. August 20, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by My regrets Friendly bar and restaurant staff. Good selection of food and beverages. New higher parking charge is a bummer But the loser WiFi in the rooms is a deal killer. I stay at this property at least 10 nights a year. Since June of 2013 I was told improvements / upgrades to The WiFi was in the works. It hasn't happened. It is fixed soon or I'm gone and so are my coworkers. If management replies and says the improvements are being made (another promise) why wasn't it fixed toe years ago, or last year or last month. They find the time to raise room rates but give lip service to customer service and satisfaction. August 16, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel needs upgrade. The hotel evidently hasn't been refreshed since it was built. The rooms are tired looking with scratched and damaged furnishings and grubby looking carpets. Rooms on fifth (top) floor are subject to a continuous noise from roof-top air conditioner. Try to grab parking spot in tiny parking area in front of hotel or you will have to pay five dollars to park in adjoining city ramp which is NOT refunded by hotel. August 13, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place We were there for several days of bike racing. We had a large conversion van and a large team sprinter. Both vehicles to large to fit into the ramp that was a block away. Staff gave me orange cones to block off 2 spots for our vehicles. Restaurant onsite is great, good pizza buffet!. Also had a nice bar to relax at night. Just a couple of blocks off the Mississippi too. Room was a little on the smaller side but was doable. Parking lot is very tiny, and if you can't get in, you have to park a block away. August 6, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad wi-if signal I either had no wi-if, intermittent wi-fi, or slow wi-fi in my room. I called to complain and they weren't able to do anything about it. There were no washcloths in my room. The workout room has 4 pieces of equipment in a room about the size of a regular bedroom -- and nothing to wipe the equipment down with. I was disappointed with my stay. My room was dark and musty. The air conditioner was noisy. Parking is very limited, so you have to pay to park, park in a ramp next door, stick a voucher in your windshield, haul your luggage from the ramp to the hotel, and take a parking ticket to the front desk for validation. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Needs some work I asked for two beds on the online reservation form, and I got one bed and a very uncomfortable pull-out sofa. That was for three men. They were full, so they said they couldn't do anything about it. The room smelled old and musty. The keys to our room constantly had to be reset, and even then were touchy to use. We had a view of three dumpsters out our window behind a restaurant. The lock on the bathroom door was completely missing - there was a hole where it should have been. To top it all off, it was way overpriced for that kind of quality in La Crosse, WI. August 4, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ??Not sure?? We stayed at this motel since it was recommended on a wedding guest card. When we arrived we were able to get an early check-in at 1:00, but it took 3 trips back to the front desk to finally have 2 key cards that actually let us in the room! Our room smelled musty, we found 2 pills left on the floor from the housecleaning staff or previous occupants and the toilet wasn't clean... Positive point was the bed was very comfortable..... This was the first time I ventured in the downtown area--very fun --lots of restaurant choices. It's very close to the park and river. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Soooo dirty I chose the Holiday Inn downtown La Crosse, WI because of the great location and the moderate price. I expected a basic, clean room with a coffee maker and refrigerator, no extra frills necessary. Upon arriving I had to sign a waiver saying we wouldn't smoke in the room, which is no problem b/c we don't smoke. As soon as we walked in the room we noticed it reeked of old cigarettes and dampness, July 22, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by I've seen better Wi-fi extremely weak all weekend. I tried it at two in the morning, two in the afternoon and other times as well in the two days I was there. Couldn't maintain a connection. I finally resorted to using the computer in the business center in order to get on the internet. Parking is a real problem. Very small (maybe twenty spaces) parking lot. Hotel has parking in parking garage around the corner. Not very convenient July 22, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Outdated and Worn Had problems with the room upon check in. Staff was helpful, friendly and quickly handled the problems. Rooms are outdated and worn. Chairs with holes in the fabric, worn carpet, scratched and dented furniture. Room was also very damp/dank. The lighting was dim and very yellow. Wifi was slow or non-existent. If the hotel is upgraded I would love to stay here again. The staff and the nice location are the highlights of the hotel, the rooms are not. July 21, 2014

The $5 a night parking is ridiculous, there should be no charge for parking as this isn't downtown in a big city. The cost of the room should cover the parking. The best thing about the hotel was the location to all the downtown attractions. The covered walkway from parking ramp to hotel is nice but then you have to carry all your luggage down many stairs.
