Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Pleasantly Surprised by this Great Hotel in Laguna Beach I mentioned in one of the previous specific hotel feedback questions that the hotel exceeded my expectations in value, location, and condition/impression of the facility (lobby, grounds, room, pool, and courtyard). In addition, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff was excellent. I have already recommended this hotel to friends and colleagues. It was much better than expected, and was beautiful. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent value in Lagua Beach We have been visiting Laguna Beach since 1982 when we were married there. Additionally we lived in the area for a number of years. So we are familiar with hotels in LB. We found the Holiday Inn LB 2 years ago. It is a true value. The staff has been very nice and helpful. The location of the hotel is good though be careful getting a room on the Cleo Street side (south side). It can be a tad noisy. The restruant below check in has been rated the best Italian of Orange County in 2014. Great value. Better fare and pricing than the beach side places like the Deck. Recommend this to the savvy traveler. November 12, 2014

While the rooms may appear small, the comfort level is very high. We had a great stay at this property. November 9, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not A Pleasant Experience Hotel check-in staff (ladies) were not cordial and extremely rude. Room was not ready as guaranteed by reservation. Overall common area was always wet and slippery. I would suggest that the Holiday Inn provide extensive training in customer service for all check-in staff. Best Experience: Mare Culinary Lounge which is a separate entity not related to Holiday Inn but attached as the providing restaurant and lounge. I have too say that Jenna and Jillian were both awesome in the customer service area and made sure that our experience was a most enjoyable one with their smiles and easy conversation. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Room Location We will not be returning to this hotel. Room 23 is in a basement-like environment with no natural light coming into the room. The room was so small that the door hit the bed when you came into the room. We found two roaches in the bathroom. When asked if we could switch rooms, staff was not accommodating. October 20, 2014
