Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 4th time to stay here Its an older hotel but its usually fair. I would have enjoyed it more if the front desk male didn't ask me how many kids i have and threaten to charge me for another room if I have too many?? that was really wife's key didn't work: when i went back to fix it was the first time they finally recognized me as an ihg member (typically gold or platinum year to year...I only prefer ihg). I'm trying someplace different next time. maybe a fair experience here but National IHG always takes excellent care of me. Also: please move the trash bags left by housekeeping FAR AWAY from the elevators...its difficult to get in an elevator when staff leaves 4 trash bags of towels, trash, etc right by elevators. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Location and responsive staff My family and pet and I were driving home and wanted to get as far north in Florida as we could. This HI was in a good location off I 75 and very easy to find at 11 pm at night in the middle of a brutal thunderstorm. We had a reservation and got the last room (thankfully). It was very busy and the front desk appeared a bit overwhelmed. When we got to the room there were no linens for the pull out as well as just a few towels in the bathroom and one packet of coffee. The front desk had more arrivals but they handled our requests quickly. We left a few hours later; realizing then that it was a HI and not an Express. There was no free breakfast but a sit down restaurant that opened too late for us. Being a very frequent traveler, my suggestion would be to have a supply of coffee, hot water and/or juice packets maybe granola bars on a table by the front desk for those departing before the world wakes up. The day after I arrived, I returned to my room and found that it had not been cleaned. Dirty towels, no replacements provided until I requested them, bed unmade and a dirty shower. I had not placed the sign on the door. Breakfast was pricey and did not expect this, it needs to be emphasized for travelers so they can make informed choices, I would have paid more for the room just to have the opportunity to have a breakfast buffet style. The room was spacious and very clean. We loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Breakfast was not included; however, the discounted rate we received was $40 less than other comparable hotels in the area! We were greeted by two young ladies, I wish I had gotten their names, with smiles and a personalities that where nothing short of GREAT. They set the tone for our stay. They recommended Mike's Café, you have to eat there when you are in Lake City. The room was very clean and comfortable. Please do let these young ladies know that they played a major part in our excellent stay at your property. March 29, 2014

I called the manager and asked if he could hold them for 8 days when we would be returning thru Lake City. He said sure and even offered to ship the articles to us. I said just hold them would be fine. Upon our return we picked them up. EXCELLENT service from everyone. The breakfast was also great! Clean and quiet room. March 18, 2014

As you first enter the property, you'll be impressed with the well-manicured grounds and playful statues. The lobby with its open atrium & grand staircase is equally impressive. The front desk staff is always eager to assist with a smile. The cafe & bar staff remember us each visit & treat us like royalty. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area for business or relaxation! March 17, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Fair The building is nice. We had our dinner in the hotel's restaurant, not knowing that the dining room was actually the bar. After placing our order, but before our meal was served, a dozen or more (mostly men) entered the bar and were standing around with drinks in hand, talking and laughing loudly. A very unpleasant experience for us. Unlike most hotels, breakfast was not included. However, we took our breakfast in the hotel. The elevator was located mid-way on the wall of the dining area so that guests on their way to check out walked on the edge the dining area. A refrigerator and microwave in the room would have been more comfortable, which are usually provided at Holiday Inn Express. The bathroom needed maintenance. We really regret booking at that hotel and will definitely not do so should we make that trip again. March 13, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Maintenance and Housekeeping I have been staying at this HI since it was built and have found it to be great in the past. However on this visit the toilet did not operate properly ( I had to repair the flush valve myself ) the tub did not drain so I stood in ankle deep soapy water while getting my shower and the bed spread smelled like womens purfume from the last person that slept in it ( I hope the sheets were changed). When leaving I asked the desk person to have the manager call me when he/she got to in but did not receive a call. Not likely I will stay there again! March 10, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Passing Through on Vacation Travel Passing through and looking for a place to stay for the night while traveling on vacation. From check in to check out, the staff was great. I identified myself as a rewards club member on check in and the staff upgraded me automatically to an executive queen suite. Room was comfortable with great amenities. Hotel was clean and inviting both inside and out. A great place to stay if passing through or if on business. Only complaint was elevator wait was long due to speed of elevators. February 17, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Management Arrived Saturday afternoon, 2-8-14. Met with 4 friends in the eating area. Don't remember what time the invasion started, but the property was attacked by 100-150 8 & 10 year old baseball players. It was impossible to even talk at the tables due to the noise. They were totally out of control with no parental supervision or supervision from the hotel. You are fortunate that no one got badly hurt or drowned. Regular guest couldn't even use the pool due to the amount of kids. They were jumping down the second floor steps from the platform. Running through the halls on all levels. It was unbelievable. Some guest check out later in the evening. I had to come out of my room at 10:30 PM to shut them up on the second floor. What I saw Sunday morning of the rooms that were being serviced, they totally trash the rooms. Your service people should have been given extra compensation for what they had to clean up. Your internet is almost unusable. I tried both the computer in the lobby and the one in the business center and both performed the same. I asked if you you had dial up service, it was that slow. You had to wait several minutes to open any email that you wanted to read. I advised the desk that my lamps were not working in my suite and the sink and tub drains would not come up enough to drain the water. One lamp was unplugged and the other was just broken and would not work. All above were still the same as of Monday morning when I check out. February 13, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Poor response to loud, rambunctious children We were there for 2 days during the time a baseball tournament was occurring. The children were wild, loud and not controlled by the families or hotel staff. The children were jumping off the stairs and running all over the hotel. We were meeting 3 other couples and we all complained. We were told the security would take care of the children. They did not control the situation. Many people did not sleep during the night. I have grandchildren who go to tournaments and never have we had this kind of behavior allowed by the hotels and families. February 13, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Badly Behaved Baseball Teams Tolerated By Management Two baseball teams & their beer drinking parents took over this hotel. They completely ignored the rules or request from the hotel security or management to control their kids or to be considerate of the other people wanting to rest in the hotel. At 11:30 the parents were still hooping & hollering in the lobby while unsupervised children wondered around the lobby, played in the pool, or slept on the lobby sofa or on the floor. Not sure why the Lake City police were not called or charge these adults a fine for their inconsiderate & disruptive behavior. We have enjoyed stopping at this hotel several times in the past, but now I am not feeling comfortable returning to this hotel in the future or maybe any Holiday Inn. Obviously, Holiday Inn needs to look are their well developed pet policy and create one similar for parents with children/traveling children organizations. February 12, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by When "free" breakfast is NOT When this booking was made, we specifically looked at the website and confirmed that breakfast was included in the night's stay. We then confirmed the free breakfast on the HI website after checking in at the hotel. The next morning, we find that it is not free. We look for free breakfast with hotel stays as it enhances the overall value of the stay and allows to not have to go look elsewhere for breakfast. Other things that we found not good enough with this specific Holiday Inn: 1. Blackout drapes would not stay together in the middle. We resorted to leaning the Holiday Inn 3 ring binder against the drapes to keep out the light. 2. The tile baseboard in the bathroom was full of dust (a lot of it). 3. The dresser also had dust on the bottom. This was room 619. Having stayed at various Holiday Inns over the years, I doubt that I would stay at this one again. February 12, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another great stay! Our last stay was the fifth year in a row we have stayed at the Lake City location on our way to southern Florida. Check in was fast considering there were 5 people ahead of me in line. The fact that this hotel is pet friendly makes such a difference for us. It was wonderful to see families with their pets! Room was a little tired but very clean and comfortable. Will stay again next year. February 4, 2014

Service was great very friendly this our 3rd time staying at the one in lake city we have stayed in several all all very nice. Clean and nice people that work at them all. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Questionable Staff I recently booked a corporate event at this location and also stayed overnight. The event planner who my staff and I had several phone conversations with prior to arriving was not very friendly and quite snide with some of her remarks made when asking for detailed information on the hotel/event room setup. To make matters worse, I accidentally left behind my toiletries bag in the bathroom and called less than 24 hours after I had checked out to advise the staff and the on-site manager who was on duty at the time. The manager was very rude with me and showed little concern about my now missing item. It was very disappointing to know that my bag had "gone missing" when I knew the very spot that I had left it in and exited the room just moments before a housekeeping staff entered to clean it. I find this very disheartening that this hotel does not have better leadership for its employees and allow them to display rude and unprofessional behavior towards its guests. In addition, I feel that the lack of accountability that was displayed when it came to my now "missing" item left behind promotes an environment of dishonesty. "If you don't get caught, you're not held liable". Guess its the "guests" word against the staff. January 22, 2014
