Hotel is in an good location. Easy on and off access to the highway. In addition to the restaurant on site there are several restaurants in walking and/or driving distance from the hotel.
I have stayed at this location several times for business and staff are always friendly and willing and able to assist with any requests.

Stayed here on rewards points. Got to room and it was dirty. They said it was no pet floor but there were cat hairs all over the bed. The room was dirty and the carpets in the hallway were stained with what must have been from animals because it smelled. Since my kids have allergies, we requested a transfer. We moved up a floor but it was still dirty and the hallways were in worse condition and the door was broken as well. On top of that, they billed us for the room transfer and I had to go to the front desk to get it removed. We stayed at several Ihg properties on our trip, and all were good but this one. This one stay greatly reduced the value of the rewards points program for me.

Had to wait 45 minutes for my room to be ready, even though I arrived to check-in at 5PM.
Only one elevator in the building was working. Staff / service elevator was also inoperative, so housekeeping, laundry, room service were all using the one guest elevator too.
Major system failures throughout the facility ... electronic guestroom door locks not working, a constant line of 5-10 guests at the front desk at all times who couldn't get into their rooms. Guest room air conditioners not working ... at least three guests were assigned different rooms because of this while I was waiting for my room to be cleaned.
Very tired appearance. Brightly colored lobby chairs all stained with various foods, dirt and liquids. Peeling tan and gold wallpaper in rooms, stained caulking and discolored tiles in bathrooms. Poorly performing compact fluorescent lights in room cast a dim, flickering, yellow-ish light that made it difficult to perceive the room as clean.
This is just not consistent with my recent experiences at IHG properties around the globe. Most guests have come to expect bright, clean and fresh experiences at IHG properties ... this is none of those.
Next time I need to stay in the Lakewood / Golden I will look for a different IHG property.
