In my opinion, there is not really a worse hotel experience than having to wait for hours for room to be ready on check-in. After a long day of travel and the desire to want to get ready for a concert that evening, the last thing I want to be told to do is "go have a cocktail". Arrived a week ago for a concert that evening at Red Rocks. Multiple people were having to wait past check-in time for their rooms. The hotel is in a convenient location for Red Rocks but not if the room is not ready. The excuse was that they had been full the day before. My solution would be to staff in anticipation of having a lot of rooms that need to be cleaned the next day. I also felt like I was receiving even worse service because I used points for my room that night. The person at the desk (seemed new) said "oh I see you used your points too, you'll need to wait" and then caught herself by saying "not that that's the reason". My sister & brother-in-law who did not use points got their room right away. Apart from the poor service at check-in, everything else is an average experience.

We were able to book this room last minute. We have used Holiday Inn Express for most of our trips. Check in was a bit hectic, there was only one clerk helping customers check in and he had to deal with all issues and answer the phone. He really needed some help, I felt bad for him. I would recommend that check in staff be supported in times of heavy traffic. I would give this clerk a 10 on the score card, he juggled all the responsibilities perfectly. I would recommend this hotel, thank you again.
