Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad experience at Lancaster Holiday Inn I have stayed in a lot of Holiday Inns in my time and this would rate as the worst stay I have had. I am a platinum member of the IHG and I wasn't at any stage recognized as such. The staff were very unhelpful. I had my children with me and no one offered me help with bags, etc at any time. I didn't sleep well in the beds provided and at breakfast the attendee didn't offer to show me how it all worked considering this was the first time I have been to this hotel. Overall a really bad experience at this hotel and I will never stay here again. August 1, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Hotel Very good hotel which is very convenient for M6 in a pleasant location next to the River Lune. There is a pleasant walk which follows the River into Lancaster city centre. A minor issue with all Holiday Inns is that they don't provide ITV4 which is available to every household via Freeview. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast We paid for our breakfast at a discounted rate which I still thought to be a bit pricey. However there did seem to be a lot of people just wandering in without vouchers and no-one was asking for them. When you have paid, this can be very annoying. Something needs to be done to tighten up on this aspect so that customers do not feel aggrieved. Please take note. It was self-service so rating the waiters was not really possible but the food was pretty average buffet fare. July 31, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Traffic noise - though not unbearable Everything was fine about the room facilities though it was a little bit stuffy. i would be happy to stay at the hotel again, but I would ask for a room at the back of the hotel, if possible, due to the traffic noise at the front. Good location for a mid-way stop to Scotland from the south, nearby shopping in Lancaster, and The Lakes. July 30, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jack enjoyed the pool I purchased this weekend package as a 40th birthday surprise for my son, partner and son. On arrival they were offered an upgrade (as it was his 40th) however there was no second bed facility in this room and 'Jack' was too big for the only cot option #at 2 1/2 years#. Anyway it was a nice thought. The Breakfasts were great and enjoyed by them all, however the evening meal was let down by the choice of a 'Chilli Pasta' which was far too hot and by the time an alternative was prepared, my son had to eat his choice, before it got cold. It was explained that there were two different chefs and one made it 'stronger' than the other...? Everything else was great, the room was clean and comfortable and "Jack enjoyed the Swimming Pool" July 28, 2015
