Bathroom was worn and needed a re-fit. Glasses were missing from room, so had to use bathroom glass? Food was average, pool area was clean and very good for 3 year old. April 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and hotel facilities This hotel is perfect for getaways to the Lakes and the beautiful surrounding countryside. The rooms are large and clean with great range of TV channels and option to buy movies. The kids loved the swimming pool and the hotel breakfast which was excellent. The only downside is the atmosphere during the evening - the food is over-priced and the lounge/restaurant not very inviting with large groups drinking etc. There are some good restaurants in Lancaster though so you can pick and choose where you eat April 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Really great service From checking in at reception we had a great time. Booked double bedroom but because it was bank holiday week-end no double bedrooms left. We were upgraded to the executive rooms with a good discount too. Lovely leisure centre and had a swim and wound down in the Jacuzzi. Really happy with the staff and will book again soon. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Accomodation and staff great, food awful Had adjoining rooms to accomodate our family of 5, everything was set up perfectly, all clean and more than adequate for what we needed. The onsite swimming pool was a bonus at 7am when the little ones were up early. All staff were good, accessibility and parking first class. Booked on an offer period so the cost was really good. All of this was let down by the food in the restaurant. I realise kids eat free and it is a large chain so we were not expecting Michelin starred cuisine but the food was awful. The kids pasta was actually burnt and had blackened bits, the sauce really unpleasant and vinegary and obviously they could not be bothered in the kitchen. Adult main meals were well below average. 3 young kids all tired after a few hours in the car meant we did not make a fuss but I would stay there again and eat elsewhere. April 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good place to stop as you travel North Chose to stay in Lancaster overnight to break up the journey from Wales to Scotland. Great location just off motorway, hotel was immediately visible as we exited M6 motorway. Arrived approx 9pm. Check-in was easy and reception staff helpful. Bathroom was warm, bedroom spacious and clean. Just enough time to enjoy 1 programme on flat screen TV before lights out. Nice choice of food at breakfast time, my young son ate free of charge. We always enjoy breakfast at Holiday Inn hotels, this was no exception. Good choice of tourist leaflets in reception area which resulted in us visiting the J Atkinson & Co shop on China Street, Lancaster before heading onward to Scotland. Will certainly return here. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor slow service in the restaurant The hotel was nice and pleasant enough however the service in the resturant was very slow and un-attentive. I waited around 30 mins for my order to be taken and then around the same time for it to be served. The hotel was fairly busy but didnt look full however it is down to the management to manage and make sure their is ample staff to attend to their paying customers March 24, 2013

Room extremely comfortable. Dining was a joy - the food at dinner and breakfast was of the highest quality. In short, I can''t recall a better overnight stay in a Holiday Inn. March 21, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Lancaster I have to stay in this hotel on regular occasions. It’s a bit like faulty towers, unlike Fawlty Towers there's no real fun involved. The check-in staff are good but there only tends to be one on at busy times. The restaurant is bereft of service, they regularly take three quarters on an hour to take the order, sometimes forget it, sometimes it is cold, sometimes they have run out but serve alternatives without telling you. Sometimes it is good, just good not great. Rooms sometimes have had people in them and it has not been serviced. People come into your room without warning (advise you put the chain on) Strange hairs feature in the bath often. Breakfast is good mainly because it is self service. We do get a discounted rate but it comes with a downgraded service. They will still try to add a service charge to your bill at the end. My advice, if you must stay there go out for dinner. Am I expecting too much? I also stay in the Holiday Inn Oldbury and Washington both good March 21, 2013

The bed could have been a little softer for our taste but rooms were spotless and pleasantly decorated. Bathroom clean and warm with complimentary toiletries. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Noisey late at Night I stay regularly at this hotel and have noted the staff do little to prevent late night noise. This is a problem when weddings are at the hotel or groups of people stay and go out for a night out. The annoying thing is the staff admit it can be a problem but do nothing to combat it unlike other hotels where I have stayed. My last stay the response was 'yes people are not very considerate' March 4, 2013

Rate includes use of a small on site pool and gym which is not the poshest but decent enough and clean. Corridors in hotel are LONG so ask for a room near the lift if thats a problem for you. I was offered as a priority platinum member an upgrade to a twin exec room, but I stuck with the double standard I had booked. Room ok. Breakfast was nice and well managed. Overall a convenient location if travelling through and pool a bonus if you want to use it. March 4, 2013

We asked for a room at the back overlooking the river which was lovely and quiet. Room was very comfortable and spotless. Breakfast was great with huge variety. All staff very helpful, especially the girls on the front desk. Would stay again. March 4, 2013

All staff saying, Good morning, along the corridors, etc. Rooms very clean, bathroom looking a little jaded but still clean and functional. Health suit very good, pool right temperature and gym well equipped. Breakfast had great choice from healthy to full English and available for a good stretch of time each morning. Booking ahead secured a great dermal for my family of 4 although the deal meant no refund if needed nearer the time. Found cost of bar drinks excessive, cheaper to pop across the road to restaurant or drive Ito town. March 2, 2013

They made me feel truly welcome. The room had plenty to offer. I had a great night's sleep in the room and there were plenty of facilities. Most of all, the room was exceptionally clean. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cleaning staff On our check-out day, cleanning staff came to knocked our door before 9 am, asked my husband if he wanted them to come back later. He said yes. He went out to start packing, and I just went to the toilet, well before 10 am, another knock on the door, I couldn't answer, as I was sitting on toilet, hearing two female cleaners came into the room, " God still here". It stopped me what I was about to do feling very cross, went out of the room, and asked them "what time is the check-out?" One of them said "12 o'clock". I told them that we were checking out that day, went out of the room in about 5 min to the reception to check-out. I asked receptionist if they notify cleaners which room is checking out the day, and she said, yes. It's not very nice at all to be chacked out of the room well before check-out time, especially, being Gold Member, we could stay till 2pm. I did get apologies from them, but I just wanted to inform you of the unpleasant experience. February 24, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good location but understaffed F+B Operation This is the second time I have stayed here in recent months, as the hotel is well located for my Head Office. Reception staff are friendly and efficient and rooms are clean and comfortable - though TV reception is intermittent. On both occasions that I have stayed, I have found my bill to be incorrect when checking out, due to the wrong drinks items being accredited to my bill. This I believe is down to the fact that Food and Beverage staff appear to be overworked. There never seems to be enough staff on hand to offer proper service. They are always in a rush to serve the next customer, and I expect this is what leads to mistakes in billing. Reception staff have put things right on both occasions, but it is a shame that the overall experience of eating in the hotel is not as pleasant as it might be if staff were afforded the time to be as good as they could be. As a result I am put off the idea of staying at the bar for a couple of drinks, because of the waiting time involved. February 18, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Back again I stayed over the Christmas period and not everything went as smoothly as it might,/ An unpredictable rush at breakfast caused ques and shortages. However staying again two weeks later all ran smoothly. I arrived much later than planned,and the night porter opened up the bar so I could enjoy a double malt . The breakfast staff remembered me from my earlier visit. Best of all my room was an upgrade and most appreciated. I have stayed many times before, and will do so again. it is a good quality hotel in a convenient location, whether as a stopover or as a base for exploring the area. February 11, 2013
