I arrived at this hotel and it took me 40 mins to get checked in! and I am a platinum club member. After I eventually was checked in I tried to get food, big mistake! was told kitchen closed and it wont be open for another hour because they just had a large party arrive! Bed was lumpy staff couldn't understand why I was unhappy.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by SFH262 Cold and internet connection
Stayed at the hotel the other week and when booking in my room I found there was a portable heater there. It appeared that the air con in the room was not working efficiently and this heater was needed to boost up the levels. However this was of only little help because after being out all day the temperature had dropped. I spoke to others that were staying in the hotel and it appered this was a common fault throughout.
Another important point, I am surprised in this day and age that hotels still think it is acceptable to charge for internet connection. When this was new and rare then that might have been the case but not now. I'm guessing the bulk of customers particularly in the week are business people, therefore internet connection should be a must not an expensive add on! This hotel chain is behind the times as it is extremely rare that I'm am charged for internet connection (in the UK or overseas). It coffee shops provide this then keep up Holiday Inn!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cop25 Pity about the windows
Everything was excellent, apart from the room in one respect only. The windows are so poorly fitting that traffic noise from the main road is overpowering. Until 12pm and again from 5am the traffic speeds past making it impossible to obtain a good night's sleep and rest.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Andy999999 Not worth paying for
Not a particularly good location and a distinct lack of atmosphere. The room was okay but ridiculously over-priced for what was offered and I was disgusted to have to pay for internet access which is free at most other hotels - £4.95 for one hour in real-time or £12.95 for 24 hours! Having stayed at various Holiday Inn hotels around the world I think Holiday Inn needs to do a serious rethink with this particular hotel as it is just a rip-off franchised venue hiding behind a the bigger brand.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AlanandHazel Newspaper - First Time Experience
After many years staying in Holiday Inn hotels throughout the UK, this was the first time that the option of an alternative newspaper to the complimentary "i" was not available, even for payment.
The reception staff were very apologetic, but it was not possible. Otherwise an excellent Twixmas stay.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fatherofthegroom1 Beware of the disco
We were not told when booking or on arrival that there would be a disco starting at 21.30 and ending at midnight. The music kept us awake. Others may need to consider this when booking for the rest of December 2012

Hotel location on industrial estate but easy walk to shopping park with places to eat. Room with queen size bed was a good size and very clean bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was of good quality and plenty of choice. Would return to this hotel for short break.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JT63 Super clean and comfortable hotel
I stayed at this hotel with my friends on a girls night out in Leamington spa. The location of the hotel was a bit out of Leamington, but only a short journey away via taxi.
The hotel is clean, staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. A great, clean, fresh place to stay and a feeling of being at home.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Thisisthetruth Pub / fast food style of menu hugely disappointing.
The room was fairly small, bathroom standard.
The welcome from and help given by the receptionist was excellent.
The main disappointment was the menu, a piece of laminated board that would have been more at home in a greasy spoon, cheap fast-food joint or downmarket pub. The things on the menu were of the same style, certainly not what we expect in a 3* hotel 'restaurant'. The menu definitely offered burger-joint / pub grub, and not a gasto-pub, fare, not restaurant food. Burgers, curry, chips and similar. Absolutely nothing remotely healthy and nothing inviting, the laminated menu led us to believe that the usual clientel are people who get food over everything. Not the sort of people I'd want sitting next to me in a restaurant!
It's a couple of miles back to the town but we managed to find somewhere to eat decent quality food from an interesting menu. We arrived back at the hotel to find two groups holding parties. The noise from the marquees filled our bedroom until about midnight, we were exhausted and wanted to sleep, especially after having to go out and find our evening meal.
The following morning we were woken by the cleaning staff making an unacceptable level of noise as it was before 09.00.
Overall, the hotel is clean and modern, we expected great things when we entered the foyer - we were very disappointed when they did not materialise. The menu is uninviting in the extreme if you are expecting a 'restaurant' menu - and who isn't when you stay in an hotel?
We were unlucky with the parties but the noise from the cleaning staff should not happen.
It's handy for the town, although by no means central. We would not actually recommend it but if asked would say it's o.k. as long as you're prepared to go out for your evening meal, don't want to sleep in after 09.00 and check before you book that there are no parties - or at least ask for a room that will be quiet.
There were black hairs in both the sink and bath - as a pair of red-heads we know we didn't put them there. Otherwise the room was fine.

A comfortable and friendly hotel, we good clean rooms. The only slight criticism is that the walls are quite thin and noises from guests above and around you can be a problem.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mrslemmon Excellent service
We'd booked a disabled room which was on the ground floor, however, there was some work being done to the reception floor that evening so the receptionist asked us if we'd rather a room upstairs away from the noise; I had concerns due to my mobility, but she very kindly showed us a room which was ok for me, then she upgraded us for the inconvenience. Excellent service - unfortunately, I can't remember her name.
Disappointed that the restaurant didn't open until 6pm, which was no good as we were heading out at 6.30pm (noticed that we weren't the only people wanting to use the restaurant earlier). We settled for a bar meal, which was nice but overpriced for the fact that you have to eat it at a low table in the bar area.
Other than that, no complaints at all.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Laurz Don't use the restaurant
We booked a family room which was supposed to sleep 4 in 1 double and two singles and we were given two doubles which meant that the children had to share a bed- apart from that the room was good value.
Don't use the restaurant, the food is indelible and really expensive. The staff were lovely but it was the worst restaurant I have ever been to.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by AlyA One night stay Oct 2012
Overall the hotel is comfortable, well positioned to Leamington with a great breakfast ...BUT had possibly the worst nights sleep in a hotel ever! The noise from other guests and door slamming went on through the whole night and I mean the whole night/morning! The plumbing was noisy but I could live with that if that was in isolation. Was glad I didn't have kids with me.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HelenG Leisure Short Break at Royal Leamington Spa Holiday Inn
The location of this Holiday Inn provides easy and direct access from major roads /motorway without getting lost in in the town centre. Car parking is brilliant. Reception Area and Restaurant plus bar cafe area are very modern, well staffed and meet all dietary requirements including gluten free. Rooms on the ground floor were all well equipped and kept very clean; but rooms near the reception desk may get noise from taxis pulling up outside. The instalment of air-condituioning in all rooms is very welcome as the hotel is warm and enjoys much sunshine. The breakfast table is varied and suits all needs including buffet and hot foods plus personal requirements. The lunches and evening meals were varied and flexible with good service with excellent condiments. The easy accessibility to/ from the train station and motorway plus the excellent local gastro-pubs on the canalside and the next door shopping mall with a few cafes, fast food and restaurants is an added bonus too. EXCELLENT!
