Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1st visit to a Holiday Inn We stayed at Holiday Inn Leicester for 1 night and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived we were greated with a smile, check in was speedy and very efficient. I was given all the info I needed. then I made my way to the room, wow what a great room it was, so clean and a huge bed. The room was well furnished. As for the food it was 1st class, the service we recieved from our waitress Donna, was amazing, so friendly and attentive. This lady made our stay an even better experience. I would recommend this hotel and we are looking forward to our next visit in a few weeks time August 13, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Spacious room with everything needed to organise two night stay Chose the hotel for it's proximity to Leicester town centre which was accurate. Parking was easy in nearby car park. Joined the loyalty programme which gave me free internet. Reception staff very welcoming and helpful with regard to hotel facilities and local directions. Room surprisingly large with nice furniture and very comfortable bed. Bathroom also well equipped. August 8, 2014

We always stay here when visiting leicester as we find no fault* with this place. •Rooms fresh and clean, beds really comfy. •Kids stay and eat free. •Free use of sauna pool and steam room. •Friendly staff who are always welcoming and helpful. *Faults. •Breakfast overpriced for the quality of the food. •Pedestrian road crossing to and from the hotel very limited-hotel is situated in the middle of a very busy roundabout. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel ? Motel ? Holiday inn ? Ok so I booked the suite and was told it was the best room they have .... Who puts the best room you have right opps the lift ?!?? Bedroom part of the suite was nice comfortable ... Bathroom was like something from 10 years ago and the lounge was nice but kept reminding me of an old pensioners home ! So cleaners were great friendly and helpful! Reception staff were ok sometimes slow to answer the phone ... Restaurant have to say was useless no room service breakfast and the dinner tasted like something warmed in the over from a freezer and presentation skills were useless, and when I went for dinner at 8 pm they had already started closing tables and was told to sit in the bar area as they were preparing for breakfast !!!!! Service was slow and almost as if they were doing you a favour !! My advice download a takeaway app ... Oh and forget about room service !! You can't even order breakfast to your room !! Oh and don't forget 10 pound a day charge for car park August 7, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by average city centre hotel in need of a refurb. Upon arrival the receptionist was very polite and welcoming offering complimentary water for being base member. Answered all questions professionally. The room was a let down (5th floor) in need of an update! Old furniture decor and curtains. Ate in the restaurant service was slow as no one was at the bar. After waiting 5 minutes a women than said someone will meet you around the corner in a abrupt manner. The waitress was very friendly engaging in conversation and polite. The bar maid when asked for ice was abrupt and a can't be bothered manner when we asked for ice and glasses which was recommended from reception as no ice machine on 5th floor. Overall the location is great for instant access to the city centre, the food is decently priced for the quality,and the leisure facilities are of good quality however the let Down was the service and dated and taty rooms. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A very warm welcome every time from reception! A great location for the City, thus dispensing with the car. Reception staff are second to none.....! Executive rooms modern, clean, good sized beds, with water provided and good ventilation as required. The only points here would be better fitting curtains to make the room dark in the mornings, and new towels. Breakfast is adequate, BUT PLEASE, let's have coffee pots on the tables.....getting a cup of coffee or refill is a nightmare! Bar/lounge is good, but the menu never changes. It needs to change, be more extensive, or have regular specials. I spend most weeks at this hotel, and I am happy with the service, just improve on the above, and it will be near perfect. I have to say that there was only one robe and the towels slightly frayed, we did ensure that on check out that we informed the customer service ladies on the reception desk who in all fairness made a note of the issues. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by felt like a different low grade hotel couldn't believe how poor our experience was compared to the last time we stayed at this hotel. It would appear they have had a big turnover of staff. The receptionist staff were functional but very cold and not at all people friendly. Not enough staff at breakfast and the hot food was undercooked and greasy. Similarly the cold food was not replenished so things like fresh fruit, yogurts etc were in short supply. July 22, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy something and a challenging way to the entrance. During the night, silent but audible low noise (vibrations?) disturbed a bit and did not let to fall asleep. I do not know, whether it comes form A/C device or something else. Finding the way to the entrance through the path of fences, car park building with parking cars was suprisingly difficult and suggests visiting a storage area rather, then quite a luxury hotel. With this exceptions I renjoyed my stay and, without doubts, will stay there next time. July 18, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall reasonably good We stay at this Holiday Inn mostly due to its central location and for the swimming pool. Most of the staff are generally good with one or two being quite friendly and helpful with another few being not helpful! The breakfast is generally good but nothing spectacular. The bacon on our first day was rubbery but had imporved by the second day. I think the breakfast should be healthier and better value for money; too many refined carbohydrates. The beds are very comfortable and there is a heating/air conditioning unit which works well except for the level of noise. There are some soundproof issues with adjoining rooms. The swimming pool is a bit too cold for a leisure pool and the attendant wasn't too friendly. The changing rooms need updating and it was freezing! However, the pool seemed to be reasonably clean. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by hotel to town good hotel convenient for city, shopping etc. but road noise could be a problem if you want fresh air. the parking arrangements were unsatisfactory in so much that it was in the local NCP parking opposite the hotel and funding space could be a problem - it also meant climbing up and down garage stairways ( this is not indicated in the description. the staff were friendly and the facilities inside were up to standard July 15, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by hotel nice - food not so nice the hotel itself is easy to find and in a good, central location to city centre. has large NCP car park next to hotel with walk-through to access reception. Lobby area clean and bright. Reception staff friendly and efficient and asked if I was an IHG member. Room usual hotel standard, although as usual with hotels, the hairdryer was not well positioned and I had to do some body contortions to see what I was doing when I dried my hair! Also, no mirror to do make-up in natural light - had to use bathroom mirror, under artificial lights. Bed was comfortable although the pillows were foam filled and not particularly conducive to a good sleep. Dinner menu was not overly extensive and food was below par. This was made worse by the waitress not offering coffee - I had to ask and then I had to wait over 20minutes for a "Starbucks" coffee. Breakfast not anything to write home about either. July 11, 2014

On arrival we were met with very cheerful and helpful staff, as a loyalty member they arranged an upgrade. The bar staff for again friendly and attentive. The room was immaculate,. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A weekend at the Holiday Inn, Leicester The estimated travel time from our home in Cornwall to Leicester was 4 hrs 20 minutes. The actual journey took 10 hours! Traffic, accidents and roadworks so it was a great relief to arrive at the hotel. The only parking available was in the NCP car park attached, (this was not made clear when we booked so parking cost £10/day, subsidised by the hotel). Purpose of the trip was to attend a friend's wedding. Check in was very busy with just 2 on reception and a queue, (there was no Priority check-in desk.) I needed to get some things from the car so just handed over my Rewards Platinum card and was immediately greeted by my name and informed my room was ready, (all this before checking in). A trainee checked me in watched by a receptionist and she did an excellent job. Following check in I was thanked for my loyalty, (never happened before and we have stayed in so many Holiday Inns). Also informed straight away that we had been upgraded. Room, as usual, was excellent. Tired and hungry we went to the bar and ordered a bar snack and a drink. We were served by Mikayla who looked after us superbly. What a lovely person. The following morning the newspaper we ordered failed to arrive, Reception apologised but said they could not send out for one. They asked if we wanted to order a newspaper for Sunday but we declined. Saturday evening the restaurant was closed probably due to a World Cup game showing live in the bar and a large contingent of Dutch supporters. With so much going on Mikayla continued to look after us along with all the other people in the bar. She was superb. Thanks Mikayla, (hope I spelt your name right!). The following morning the newspaper we DIDN'T order arrived! Overall, a good stay; clean, comfortable room, good bar snacks too, especially the chicken curry. Having left tips we then noticed in the small print there was a 10% discretionary service charge. Didn't complain as we liked Mikayla however we haven't noticed this before at Holiday Inns. PS Mrs TC has just pointed out that on Saturday the bed was just "pulled up" rather than remade. Thanks again for great stay. Mr & Mrs TC July 6, 2014
