Avoid like the plague. You get sent a bill for £60 for using the car park. They use Parking Eye so I won't be using this company again.

If you're going to stay in Lincoln, I reckon you probably can't do a lot better than this.
The view of the Cathedral and Castle from our room was disappointing (you can just see it in the distance over the car park) but it was clean and the staff were very friendly. The first night we slept really well but it was a bit noisy (other guests) the next.
The bed was very firm for my tastes, and, although there was a choice of pillows, if you both liked the same softness, you had to fight over it!
Good restaurants start literally just outside the door of the hotel and a nice riverside walk into town.

the bed , noise in the room and a faulty fire alarm made for a bad nights sleep in a hotel that was in a great location with great staff

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DahliaNoir Great location and service
We stayed in Holiday Inn Lincoln for two nights. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist with great knowledge of local area and who answered our questions and provided us with a map, telling us a few places worth visiting.
Our room was very clean and comfortable, the bed in particular, was great with a choice of pillows. The room was quiet and we slept well both nights.
There was a Starbucks attached to the hotel which was very handy. We had room service one night which wasn't great but the problem was rectified and the staff were very efficient in dealing with the problem.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and we will stay there again the next time we're in Lincoln. It's in a great location with restaurants and bars on the doorstep, and is close to the shops and local tourist attractions. Our room had a view of the Cathedral which was great at night when it was lit up.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ashoaks Staff in the Breakfast Room
All the staff in the Breakfast room were excellent and very friendly and helpful, as was the lady who cleaned our room. However the hotel was let down by the room having no drawer space which meant my wife and I had to live out of a suitcase for the duration of the trip and by the tired looking bathroom with its leaking tap.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ali Harry Excellent service and relaxing location
Had a brilliant stay at Lincoln, efficient and friendly staff who really cared. Large rooms, excellent breakfast, plenty of choice, great views of river, will definitely return to this beautiful hotel in a prime location. Car park difficult to find and needs better signage. more tea and coffee needed in rooms, getting sick of bringing my own.

this holiday inn is in a great spot in lincoln to see the city, the open top bus will stop outside the hotel so if you are hard of walking far it is ideal for you, there is lots of seating round the city so if you like to shop and rest it is great as my wife and myself are a good age and to shop and sit and let the world go by.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SamJ86 Good hotel, shame about the cold shower
Everything about this hotel was great. I just had one thing that I wasn't happy with and that was the cold shower upon arrival. I traveled to Lincoln via train and walked from the station to the hotel. I got rather rained on and by the time I checked in I couldn't wait to get into a nice hot shower. Unfortunately, the temperature of the water ranged from luke warm to freezing cold. I was very unhappy about this under the circumstances. However, the temperature the next morning was lovely and warm. Maybe I was unlucky. The cold shower on the Friday evening was my only problem. Everything else was great.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FestivalStranded Nice to see a friendly face
After being stranded in lincoln and not sure what to do i ended up at the holiday inn there and was met with a very friendly face in the form of James, the member of staff on the desk. He was very accommodating and it was nice to meet someone so helpful in my time of need, i would definitely stay again based solely on his service.

Overall OK (ish) night. The night sleep was disturbed by an early morning false fire alarm... twice! Apart from that nice view of the canal from the dining hall, friendly staff. Would visit again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Menu searcher Ok but not Great
No actual restaurant menu just Sports Bra menu, Room Service menu or a specials (very limited) menu with no prices. Not great for this type of hotel. No member of staff seemed able to offer any help in respect of what the restaurant offers so ate in other eating places close by. Prezzo, Harvest Grill, Ask and Wetherspoons.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LoubyLou66 Great location, Great Time
We stayed at this hotel as a good place to meet when we all live in various places in the UK.
It is in a lovely location, easy to find, good parking and very close to many restaurants.
The staff were very helpful & friendly without exception and the bar area was very nice.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
The only negative but very small was the hairdryer was a little bit old and didn't work very well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gillian M Lovely stay shame about the night cap
We had a lovely stay most of the staff were very nice and helpful Location is very good . The rooms lovely and clean . Breakfast was good with a choice of how you want your eggs cooking .
However after having a meal we called into the bar to finish the night off with a night cap. We ordered 2 Baily's we were given a very small drink a single shot . When we pointed out this was wrong to the bar person but she argued and said it was correct. She added a small amount of bailys but still a very short measure. We asked to speak to the bar manager who did come a pour us a correct sizes bailys which was twice the size of the original drinks. This spoilt a lovely evening with friends no apology was offered and the original bar person just turned her back on us and stayed that way until we left the bar .

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by sigrove77 It is what it is
Hotels these days are generally a beige experience, this Holiday Inn is no different.
You are also charged £5 for parking and £12 for WIFI which has a throughput of less the 1Mbps.
Welcome to modular pricing and a generally forgettable experience.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bongo1234 If you need a bed for the night...
Our stay at the Holiday Inn was good, however it is not the cheapest place if you literally just need a bed for the night. All the budget hotels were already full otherwise we would have chosen a cheaper option. That said - it is a great hotel and the location almost made up for the extra money we had to pay.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by arryscoopus Disappointing
I like Holiday Inns, really I do. My first website call whenever I will be away. Sadly, Lincoln was a complete let down.
Room very dated, bathroom even more so. Bathroom also mouldy.
OK, hotels get dated, but to charge what they charge for a room this dated? Hmmm,
Two non working lamps in the bedroom, non working heating/air con.
Asked for more pillows to be told there were none spare, despite the hotel clearly only being half full, but even if it was full; no spare pillows? Really?
Complete lack of staff in the bar, went elsewhere after waiting 10-15 minutes without any staff appearance.
Positives... reception staff were friendly, we were allowed to leave the car for a couple of hours free of charge on the day of checkout, room was clean, breakfast was very good indeed.
A real shame

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by iloveweekendsaway Weekend break
Holiday Inn Brayford is in an excellent location, lovely restaurants and nightlife are in easy walking distance if required. It is a 5 minute walk into the city center so need to move your car once you have parked up. Staff were helpful and friendly and room was clean and modern. Would definitely recommend as Lincoln is a lovely place and perfect for a weekend away.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by araara well looked after
Everything about the room was excellent and staff were first class.I had made a mistake about room service charges but immediate response was to refund me even though mistake was mine.Food a bit disappointing - cook/chill - I noticed Break Brothers delivering - and this left no flexibility for the chef when one of party asked for the soup to be served minus the cream. A little overpriced for what it was but OK and a sensible range of choices.
However as the location has plenty of opportunities for eating out I would recommend this as preferable

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nil, None Nothing Is Perfect
I have two minor comments on points I feel could be improved upon.
1. Charge for car parking. If costing has to be made, prefer to include in room charge.
2.One member of staff had a rather un kept shirt. Grubby collar with ends turned up.

My wife and I stay at numerous Holiday Inns thoughout the UK and find this is one of the best. Its nice to find they are not cutting back on the little things that can be so annoying at other venues. On this occation specifically I was able to enjoy Sky sports on the TV, and also found the toilet paper to be the same size as most people buy from the stores and not the size of postage stamps. We will definitely be returning to Brayford Wharf.
