Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Leisure location Mine was a holiday visit and the hotel location was admirable, convenient for evening promenading and City access. Lack of quiet public room, noisy/busy bar not suitable for relaxation. Disappointed with restricted dinner menu but as we were on our own for the first 90 minutes can see the problem. Nevertheless our stay was enjoyable and we would be happy to stay again. June 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by storage I found lack of storage a problem, althought there was sufficient hanging space there was a lack of hangers and drawer space was non-existent, quite a problem when staying for a number of nights, not everybody wants to live out of a suitcase, I think this issue should be addressed, especially when the room we had is meant for up to four people, four people and only TWO chairs, would two have to stand? Not really good enough do you think? June 2, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 a comfortable bed and warm welcome I have been to holiday inn at Brayford wharf three times and the experience is always a good one, no matter what the weather the welcome is a warm one. Recommended for bad weather and good. The quayside is a good place to kill time if required. the locals are pleasant and welcoming. May 26, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Unacceptable service in bar/restaurant My stay was spoilt by what I feel is an unacceptable situation. When I went to the bar restaurant for an evening meal, I was told that as they had a large party in that they would not be accepting a food order from me for at least 90mins. As it was 7.30pm already this was obviously not acceptable. There was no warning at reception about this before hand when I checked in, and when I complained to the reception, they were not aware of this situation. As a business traveller I pick my hotels so I get a certain level of service, as a person staying in any hotel, I do not expect to be told to go out of the hotel to have a meal, because they were to busy that night to be bothered to serve me or any other hotel guest. I do not think in a large hotel a party of 40 people which surely must have given prior notice, should stop other guests having a meal. It is a pity as the hotel is in a good location and the rooms are to a high standard, so hopefully leasons can be learned and paying guests are not told to go to the pub at the top of the road if you want something to eat, as I was. A little difficult to find the car park, due to pedestrian walking area and associated signs...! Make sure you have the GPS coordinates or the hotel phone number. May 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great w/end away This hotel was recommended to us by my parents. It has an enviable position right on the waterfront and yet only a 5 minute walk to the town. Checking in was fine, although I would say that more than one member of staff is needed, as there were always queues, but was very friendly and efficient when it was your turn. Our room on the 3rd floor, No.323, overlooking the water was great apart from the sink in the bathroom which constantly leaked at the base when turned on. The bar staff were friendly also. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor buffet & parking experience We have stayed with you at this hotel on many occasions but were disappointed this time as the standard was not what we have come to expect. We went down to breakfast after 10am and although the buffet is served to 11am many of the items were missing or had to be requested. The tables were not set properly. The pastries were non existant and the fruit salad tasted more like it had come out of tins rather than fresh and that too was in short supply. The car parking was disappointing due to the Camper Van event at the Marina. This we should have been informed of when we made the booking over the telephone. My husband had to get up very early to move the car on Sun morning into a neighbouring property, which was not convenient as the access & exit were restricted. If we had known this we would have booked at the Holiday Inn Express on the other side of the university which would also have been at a substantially lower rate. April 3, 2014

Own car park is really useful in Lincoln. We were upgraded to a wharfside view on arrival. Room was very clean and all was in good working order. Didn't use the bar as a bit loud, young and trendy for us, as were other bars in the area. Good pub nearby by the bridge. Breakfast was OK, could have been warmer. February 17, 2014

Elfwyn on the reception desk was exceptional. She allocated us an upgraded room with great views over the wharf and quickly addressed all our queries. The following morning we were greeted by friendly & courteous staff both in the breakfast restaurant and on the reception desk upon check-out. February 5, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor check in Arrived early Saturday, well around 1 PM. The check in took 30 minutes, trainee doing his best but only him working. We were told both of rooms were not ready, fair enough. Came back about 4:30 and were told again that our rooms were not ready, luckily the cleaners came down in the lift and managed to confirm the rooms were now ready. Pub attached was ok but cold. Excellent location, uncomfy bed but that's personal choice. Morning check out staff were nice, cant complain except for check in. January 30, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor hotel in need of TLC We arrived at the Lincoln Holiday Inn Friday Evening, after a long day spent clearing my late Aunt's property nearby. This unpleasant task was made worse by spending the night in room 222 and having to endure unacceptable room conditions. Even with the small wall mounted heater on full the room was extremely cold. The bed had a summer duvet and by 3am neither my partner or I could sleep. We had to then face another day at my aunts house with minimal sleep. Having recently stayed at Holiday Inn Express Hotels in Manchester, whilst attending a conference and Birmingham for the Good Food Show at the NEC, which were both excellent, our experience of Lincoln leaves a lot to be desired. The shower gel was empty in the bathroom and there was still 21st birthday confetti left from the previous occupants. We booked this hotel despite various reviews from Trip Adviser complaining of a similar experiences to our own. It appears little has changed and customer feedback has not been addressed. Compared to the Holiday Inn Express, the original Holiday Inn is now showing it age. This hotel needs a revamp and some TLC. The location is excellent but I now wish we had stayed at the Express out of the town center and paid for a taxi January 29, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel This is our second visit to the hotel. Great location Room was very clean and spacious. Nice view of the Cathedral at night. Bed was very comfortable as were the choice of pillows. Slight problem with the kettle but nothing major. sadly no bikkies! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Meal in the bar was very nice indeed. Will almost certainly be back next year January 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location but average customer service I stayed for one night whilst visiting the area. The hotel is well situated, close to the town centre, shops and restaurants. The car park is difficult to find and you have to drive right in front of the hotel on a largely pedestrian area, no signs indicating the car park entrance is actually at the front, which leaves you feeling that you might be committing a driving offence! Check in was fine but no recognition of status, although I did get a welcome later (more about that later). I was upgraded but didn't know until I got to my room. I guess I had been as it was a good size. The room was well equipped with a great view over the wharf. Very comfy bed but the bathroom was looking very tired and dated. I didn't use the bar area or had breakfast but I heard it was fine with varied choices. Back to my letter on check in, I was offered free drinks, 500 extra points etc etc. So on checkout, I asked for the 500 extra points which they said would be credited to my account. Two weeks later nothing, even though I have phoned and emailed. It is always the little things that you remember. So for me, although a well placed hotel and surprisingly cheaper than the HI Express, the staff need to fulfill what they offer their iHG members as for me customer service is pivotal on where I choose to commit my loyalty.
