Only one night at the Hotel for a function, the drinks way overpriced ,and food at the meal was not any way near the standard I expected for the price paid ,and wine served with the meal could have been bought for a few pounds from Asda. The room itself was comfortable, but with a severe lack of free internet in this day and age was poor to say the least, I was lucky that was close enough to use another Hotels free internet, even though I as mot staying there. Given the choice I would stay in another Hotel in Lincoln, there are plenty to choose from. December 7, 2012

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not good if you're staying more than one night. I stayed here for a week during a business trip. When I was unpacking, I discovered there was no dresser drawers to put anything! I went to the front desk to ask to have my room changed to one that had drawers, but I was told NONE of the rooms had drawers! I asked her "where am I supposed to put my socks and undies?" She offered to give me more hangers. Really??? Hangers??? I'm supposed to put my socks on hangers?? So, I basically had to live out of my suitcase all week. Also, the housekeeper did not show up one day. Shortly after I came back to the room, she knocked on my door. She told me she was running late and would not be cleaning my room. So, because SHE was running behind MY room did not get cleaned? I won't be staying here again. November 26, 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfy bed, nice staff, but this was a stay on my points..... The Holiday Inn Lincoln offer friendly and efficient service from the reception staff on arrival. It is slightly tricky to find though, as had I not had a local guide with me, I would not have wanted to drive along the seemingly pedestrian only waterfront. Ample car parking, if a little tight on the space side. The room itself was clean, warm and equipped with comfy beds. The light bulb in the main room fitting blew as soon as we entered though. The bathroom was also clean, the shower warm and the towels plentiful. There was some evidence of rust in the bath and a lack of soap / shampoo. Also, the tap was missing any indicator of which was hot or cold. On our first of two nights, the fire alarm sounded at around 11:00 at night, which was not ideal. It didn't last long, but was followed by a second burst. Thankfully it was not a full evacuation. I must stress that our stay was free as I had saved up enough reward points and as such I was perfectly happy with the stay. However, had I been paying full price, plus another £5.00 per night for parking, I feel we would have asked the staff for a new room. I am sure they would have moved us if at all possible, as I said above, they were kind and helpful. We didn't chose to eat in the restaurant for any meal, so I am unable to comment on the food or service. November 23, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Home from Home Just a quick note to endorses the services at the Lincoln Holiday Inn, Being a Priority Club Platinum member I get to stay in a number of Holiday Inns around the world. luckily for me my company has a factory in Lincoln that I have to visit regularly. I always look forward to these stays in the beautifull city of Lincoln and indeed the greeting and staff service provided by the small team whom run this Hotel in a Family style it is by far the friendliest hotel I stay in. I am sure that whom ever reads this review and gets the chance to stay there will agree its is a hotel with service and friendliness that all other hotels should aspire to. I hope to be back soon November 21, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Initial experience The room we were given had used wine bottles, rubbish & unmade bed. 2nd room was cold,bulb went in lamp & batteries in TV handset which were not changed despite request. Food was pretty grim & white wine was not chilled. However the staff were very apologetic, helpful & friendly. November 17, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great deal, great room Wouldn't normally be able to afford to stay here as the daily rates are expensive, presumably aimed at business people. Managed to get a great one night deal, rather cheekily made a special request of a room overlooking Brayford Wharf and to our surprise we were allocated a very spacious twin overlooking the wharf, the room was very comfortable with a nice bathroom and good views. The location is ideal for both shopping and Restaurants, would definately make a return visit if we could get another similar deal, all in all a great relaxing short break. November 12, 2012

Obviously they were not used to serving meals to 90 people in a short space of time, but this said they did their best. In the rooms, a complete lack of drawers made life difficult. Having to pay extra for car parking was not welcome, & the bar prices compared unfavorably with other HIGHER class Hotels. Cannot complain overall, but it seems that it is geared for only VERY short stays. November 3, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great City, great hotel. Firstly if you are driving here the approach to the hotel feels like you have driven into a pedestrian zone, but you have not. The hotel is in a great location with plenty to offer from the shops, to the sight seeing or the abundance of places to eat. The hotel itself was very nice with great staff. It has a Hertz hire car desk in reception, a Starbucks attached to the front and a mini gym. Every now and then I stay in a hotel with work that makes me want to return for a short holiday/break. The location was great overlooking the canal; the room was comfortable and well-appointed with all the amenities you would expect from a hotel - even for such a brief stay; and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Dissapointed with restaurant menu, this was tired in my view, with little fresh cooking and vey similar fast food dishes. However, views from restaurant were good as well as the service. No free wi-fi Wasnt given a room with a view despite the booking stating that a wharf view was included. Breakfast was ok but not inspiring. The price on the wall is frankly laughable and we only stayed because we got a reasonable rate. October 24, 2012

The hotel itself has friendly, helpful staff who seem to have to guide everyone to the car park. This is the only negative thing about the place - the car park - why do we have to pay for it when it is owned by the company? Even priority club members have to pay this is not good. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet room An enjoyable stay. The room was quiet and comfortable, if a little cold at times. The heater was a bit of a trial as it seemed to have two modes: noisily blasting out hot air or off. The tea/coffee making kit took a a bit of finding and there wasn't really anywhere for it except for the floor. There weren't any drawers for clothes either. Nice TV with Freeview was a bonus. The room was very quiet and I managed to get a few good nights sleep - unusual for me in a hotel. The bar/restaurant although quiet at times served excellent food and with great service. Very much appreciated. Check in and out was no problem at all. The location of the hotel is very good although it's a little disconcerting to drive along the pedestrian precinct to get to the car park. One thing though- wifi access is very expensive. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by good service and location - but Directions - Located on an 'Access Only' pedestrian area. Many customers have had difficulty finding the hotel car park. Perhaps a mention in the directions would have saved trouble, expense and a less than good start to the experience. Room - Clean and tidy with basic facilities and good space. No drawer or shelf space for clothing and the air conditioning #heating# makes about the same noise as a truck engine on tick-over. Not sure how to cope with a room service meal using a very small table. The problem was solved by the prices. Bar - The only bar - a 'Sports Bar' with a large TV screen on every wall. #If you like Italian leage and American football then it could be for you#. An uninspiring burger served on a cheap kitchen chopping board with small pots of ketchup and coleslaw and chips in a mini wire basket. If it had arrived without the unwanted #and specifically unordered gherkin and salad# it would have been OK. At a premium price and served with various kitchenalia it rankles as and attempt at style at the sacrifice of substance! Restaurant / breakfast - A large airy space with some tables having a view over the marina. Cannot comment on the food - much too risky #see previous comments#. SUmmary - If all you want is somewhere too sleep that is near to the city #and you can get a really good discount on the standard room price# keep it on your list. October 14, 2012
