Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ok hotel It was an ok hotel for what I needed, however I wont be staying again. The feel of the hotel wasn't great. Checking was basic, no greeting for being an elite member and had to go back and ask for WiFi. The restaurant room didn't have the great view as advertised and the bar was limited. TV in bar on a small low table, below the normal table level with a cable just dangling from out the ceiling. The room was okish, TV quality was very poor and crackly. The room was very cold when I arrived and the heating went off once you pulled your door card out the electric sensor, so when I returned later, it was still very cold. Took about an hour to warm up. The sink leaked, so as the basin filled, it emptied onto the floor! The bed wasn't very comfortable and could have done with a newer/not so rock hard mattress. I was by a lift and the noise was horrendous, from the lift and noise at busy times. I didn't get any instruction as to where about the room was, just where the lifts were, and also nothing about the gym facilities on or off site! I shall in future pay a little extra and go to a much nicer hotel nearby. January 30, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very convenient The hotel is situated directly opposite the railway station so its convenience for train travellers could hardly be bettered. At the time of my visit the reception was being remodelled and the staircase was out of action. I'm sure in a few weeks time it will be sparkling and modern. Room was nice and quiet and, being on the 9th floor, had a tremendous view over the city. I was not able to get the room temperature quite to my liking but that was probably down to my short stay and not being willing to spend much time adjusting the thermostat settings. January 16, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No heating for first night then very uncomfortable bed 2nd night I stay in IHG hotels quite a lot for business travel and normally they are quite good. When checking into Liverpool holiday inn the staff where friendly however the first night the heating wasn't working and it was freezing. Tried to call reception and the phone wasn't working so changed rooms for the 2nd night. The room was much warmer however the bed was so uncomfortable and clearly needed replacing. I told the receptionist when checking out that I wasn't very happy with my stay and he promptly spoke to his direct manager who assured me he would contact me and arrange a free stay, this was on the 27th December and I am still waiting for a call or an email so not impressed :( Just expect people to do what they promise so dissapointed when going back to my hometown they failed to do what they said. The staff allowed us to check in at 11.30 am which is very convenient for us after a long flight. Their concierge was also pretty efficient when arranging our taxis to Anfield and other places.
