We have stayed here before and found it ideal for central Liverpool,
This time family members met up with us and also stayed the night on our recommendation. They greatly enjoyed their stay.
This is our hotel of choice when staying in Liverpool.

We have stayed at this, and other Holiday Inn group venues, several times in recent years. A couple of years ago, we achieved "gold" status as Priority Club members, and were quite happy with things in general. However, our last 7 or 8 stays (2 at Liverpool H.I.) have left us wondering if the situation is just temporary, or whether I.H.G. are on a more permanent decline. Three times in the last year, we have felt strongly enough about matters to request a call from management, once we have gone home. Two times, including this stay, just last weekend, we have heard nothing from them at all, which makes you wonder whether they really care at all. And just once, we had a feeble e-mail from someone saying that all matters were important to them, yet we had asked for, and were promised, a phone call, so that we could effectively get our points across. Needless to say, we are tending to spend more of our hard-earned cash at several other more worthy establishments these days, which would easily explain why we are no longer "gold" rated.

I was really made to feel welcome at reception, and my Priority Club Membership was recognised postively. As a PC member I was entitled to a free newspaper - unfortunately my Guardian didn't turn up next morning. I mentioned this on departure - and was convinced that the staff were ready to dash out and get me one if I'd wanted them to.
I had a drink in the bar and accessed the free Wi-Fi - very pleasant service and surroundings. Usual gripe with Holiday Inn - no draught cider, just bottled.
Didn't find the menuing system on the TV user-friendly probably due to the slowness in page changes - don't recall having the same problem with other HI locations.
But overall, good value for money.

Overall not too bad. 9th floor gives you great views over Liverpool and the Mersey. They're all smoking rooms though, so if you really hate that thought don't stay up there.
We've stayed there before - in room 908 I think, which was fine; this time (Feb 28) we were in 904 and suffered from noise from (I think) air conditioning which made it difficult to get to sleep. Reception staff when we checked out were fairly sympathetic, but there was a definite implication that since we hadn't demanded to be moved in the middle of the night it can't have been all that bad. That's why the scores aren't as high as they otherwise would be. And at least we know which room not to stay in next time!

We stayed 4 nights, everything was perfect .Friendly and helpful staff and the breakfast was outstanding and yet not very expensive. The bathrooms could have been provided with better lighting but really nothing serious to complain about.I would recommend the hotel to anyone, anytime.

comfortable bed, good sleep.

A super hotel friendly staff clean room great breakfast everyone helpful will be back next season. Only down side more information in rooms on surrounding area would help and better control of heating as when we turned ours off the room was still very warm at night other than that excellent and thank you to all the staff for their help and general help.

i had a number of problems when i stayied here. I rung up before to ask if i needed my business pay card was told no, then i needed it when i arrived. this took alot of my time.
then when i went upstairs to my room the pillows where all over the bed, and the towels covering the bathroom so i had to move rooms.
this was a strange experiance.

We always use Holiday Inn, as we were meeting with friends in the City centre we decided to use this hotel, wrong choice, no free parking, the Duty Manager was quite obnoxious and we did not get our Priority Discounts, but heyho we won't be going back there and would NOT reccomend this Hotel

staff very helpful, taxi ordered when needed, left alown, food in bar excellent value and good service. Great few days looking forward to the next!

Room window open on arrival (3 degrees outside) so room cold, heating very poor, bathroom had mould around bath & bath took 25 minutes to fill, toilet roll holder loose, no toiletries available unless requested from reception? Ant-scald switches for shower were broken. No wifi in rooms just an old plug in system. Room looked like it was overdue redecoration & upgrade as wallpaper peeling etc.
Television picture poor, no tea / coffee making facilities in room nor any mini bar.
Breakfast just acceptable although very cheap (£7.50 per head).
Would I stay in again or recommend - well no I would not.

Chose this hotel because of a combination of good value inclusive breakfast offer and walking distance from Lime St rail station. It was quieter than expected for a city centre location, and we had a great view from our 5th floor room - and an even better view of Lime St from the restaurant. The staff were all very competent and made the effort to help us feel welcome.

We've used this hotel before and happily returned due to its proximity to Lime Street Station and the Liverpool Empire Theatre. Service at reception was smooth and efficient catering for our specific room needs. Many thanks to Steven on reception. Both rooms were clean, comfortable and above all quiet and relaxing. Breakfast selection the following morning was wide ranging and more than adequate as regards fruit, cereal and cooked options. Check out was smooth and efficient. We will certainly return to this hotel if it continues to offer the same good value for money.

This hotel was very conveniently situated for our stay in Liverpool. It was right across the road from the railway station and very close to the Empire theatre which we were visiting. The shops were also on the doorstep.The room was lovely and comfortable and warm. We had a full English breakfast in the restaurant which was very good. Everything was very fresh and hot and a good choice. I would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to my friends.

Ideal place to stay with my friend we were really impressed with our room and cleanliness. Really good location as well. Only thing i would say is remember to pay for ticket on your car through the night and also go back at 9am to put another ticket on!! Overall very good though!!

I stayed for 9 nights over a 2 week period while working in Liverpool. All of the staff made my stay fantastic, so friendly and helpfull.The food was very good and well priced. They asked me if I was happy with my room, which I was and then they reservered me the same room on my return which I thought was a nice touch

I often stay at Holiday Inn hotels and the Liverpool City Centre hotel is one of the very best. The rooms are comfortable and the food is tasty and not expensive, the room service menu I have found is flexible and they will make a meal for you which is not on the menu.
The staff are always helpful and pleasant.
The hotel itself is centrally located opposite Lime Street station and next to a shopping centre and car park.
Just as important it is not expensive.

if going to Liverpool would recommend you stay here location couldn't be better for everything. We visited Philharmonic hall 5 mins walk Cavern 4 mins walk front 8 mins walk shops on your doorstep train station at front door excellent.

We always stay at the Holiday Inn, Liverpool Centre, when we attend football matches at Anfield. It's not always the cheapest but it is by far the best value for money in our opinion. The hotel is centrally located, convenient for all shops and attractions and just opposite Lime Street Station. However, as we drive, the best thing is the discounted rate for parking at the next-door St John's Centre. At £6 per 24 hours it's a bargain.
We are always happy with the standard double rooms but this time we were upgraded to a slightly larger room with a sofa bed and chair, which was really nice. The only thing (and why I have only given four stars for "Room and Comfort" is that the plumbing screeched every time we used the cold water. As the noise didn't last very long and didn't affect our stay, we didn't complain.
We had dinner in the restaurant which was much improved from our first stay here, a prix fixe menu has been devised by the chef with three or four choices for each course and is great value whether you have two or three courses. It must be proving popular as the dining room was as full as I have ever seen it. We stuck to a la carte and our burgers we good.
Breakfast is buffet style and has everything anyone could ever want, hot or cold. However, the muesli and Alpen were missing this time but as there was so many other cereals to choose from and the restaurant was again very busy, I didn't complain.

Some of the rooms are getting a little worn and the beds need upgrading. Clean and what you would expect from this hotel. Parking is a bit of an issue but it is located very centrally.

After arriving in Liverpool at dinner time we decided to book a room for the night. We booked on line which was very easy and then went to the hotel to park. Very straight forward check in, hotel perfectly placed for centre of town and the Empire theatre where we would spend the evening. Would recommend hotel to anyone
