Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Liverpool City (Lime Street) This was a REWARD night for me, using some of my points from staying 40 nights at IHG. So they gave us the worst room available because 'We weren't paying'. Floor felt like they had carpeted over cobbles and the mattress felt the same. They apparently gave me an upgrade, would not have liked to see the other room. Its times like that when there is an oppotunity to say thanks for being a Platinum member #Since 2001# and they blew it. The staff admitted they had problems with some of their rooms, well don't give them to you best customers is an idea. Just spent 8 weeks at the H.I Barnsley #M1#, couldn't have been better. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel - deceptively ugly outside Looking at the Liverpool Holiday Inn, you'd be tempted to just stay at the Railway station across the street. It's that ugly. But inside, the rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean, and have great views. It's a perfect location - literally across the street from the station, a block from the Walker Art Gallery, and surrounded by pedestrian shopping districts and restaurants. Breakfast is OK...not exciting, but adequate to start the day. If they're going to charge for WiFi in the rooms, they should provide a business center that's a bit more than a computer off to the side in someone's office. September 30, 2013

From arrival to departure spanning four nights it was faultless. The locality to Lime street station and Liverpool City centre is perfect. We were made welcome on arrival by friendly staff. I made an error with my booking and the receptionist corrected it without hassle and quickly. My room was superb, although I could not get the heatingt to work initially, this was quickly corrected. The food in the restaurant was excellent, particularly the vegetarian options - I chose to eat there both nights. Its great to stay in a proper hotel that looks after you. The staff were superb. I regret not being able to remember the lady who checked me in but she is an asset to the hotel. Many thanks September 24, 2013

The staff in general were friendly and helpful. No problems with the room which was clean and comfortable. There seems to be a marked improvement in the hotel since my last stay some months ago. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ok I feel in was and ok visit. I was coming to stay, because I was going to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Concert Hall. I miss that last train to Liverpool on the 4 Sept. 9:07pm. So didn't make it the first night there. But Birmingham Holiday Inn, was nice enough to call" Liverpool City Center for me and explain what happen. " Stood there this past summer. Have a great time. Was hoping I would have the same experience in Liverpool Holiday Inn. But things just kept getting so-so. First there was no fridge in the room. The tea pot was old, got a new one. Them there was extra shampoo and condition, where asked. They did help with finding the location on the Concert hall. And the Apple store. I had the best time in the morning having Breakfast and talking with Kathy. September 18, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Ideal location for the railway station Lovely clean hotel over the road from the railway station. Friendly staff, nice clean room with all amenities. Asked for feather pillows and these were delivered to the room when we arrived. One disadvantage is you couldnt check in until 3.00 p.m. but we could stay until 12.00 noon, which was an advantage. (nice change from eastern Europeans) Room was very clean and comfortable.We would have liked to see a choice of eggs on the breakfast menu, but that won't put us off staying again . Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A night at the Theatre. We enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. Being in the centre of a busy City it was more than we expected. Couldn't fault the rooms or the staff but coming from the car park to the lobby of the Hotel was a bit of an ordeal. Being elderly and partially disabled, my cousin and I found the lifts from the car park to the shopping centre below weren't working properly and directions from there to the Hotel Lobby non- existent. The Restaurant, although very pleasant with likewise staff, could have had a more varied Menu. The Bar area was very friendly and relaxed. Overall it was a very recommendable stay and if we visit the City of Liverpool again we would certainly stay here again. September 2, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mathew Street festival Location, location, location...only trouble is by telling everyone we won't get a room. Excellent location next to train station, large car park, city center and only a short walk via the shops to the main pubs and music scene. Everything you want on your door step and more. The staff are excellent and friendly, for a busy hotel nothing was too much for them. Good banter with them and above all they gave a very good impression of the hotel and the city. The food is top notch and nice gym, no pool though. The rooms are large and comfy with air con and great views over the city. We have booked up again for the festival next year 2014. We would highly recommend this hotel to any traveller, business or pleasure. August 28, 2013

The pre-booked breakfast was superb and the Staff were again very welcoming and efficient. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and will be returning soon, I hope! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable First time in Liverpool and situation of hotel perfect as it's opposite Liverpool Lime Street. Check in was friendly and fast. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was as expected - buffet and option to have kippers, scrambled eggs or omelette as well. Again service was friendly and prompt. The breakfast staff each morning were, helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them, they would ask me if I would like the vegetarian sausages before even being seated. They would take time to speak to people whilst clearing away and were informative if I needed help on directions for the day. Overall the staff make this hotel . August 14, 2013
