The only issue i had was that i asked for extra items in the room and they were not delivered but the front desk gave us a small discount, but no major issues and would certainly book this hotel again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by supurb location This hotel, a few steps from lime street station is excellent for a solo female traveller. I have stayed here before and find that it is clean, safe and convenient. I have driven before and the adjoining car park is very convenient - but equally the proximity to the station. The restaurant is excellent standard, I was going to eat in the bar (equally good fare) but a few noisier larger groups made the decision that the restaurant would be more pleasant, also I could sit by the window and enjoy the beautiful view as the sun went down over the city. holiday inn standards - which is all you need and as always an easy start for business in the city the following day. The food in the bar was excellent, as was the service. I would recommend this hotel to any one visiting Liverpool. It is in an ideal location, just opposite Lime Street station. August 9, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by City centre hotel I visited the Holiday Inn Liverpool city centre for two nights July 26-27th, travelled by train which was very handy as the hotel is right opposite Lime St station, check in was easy and the staff knowledgable and pleasant , the room was very clean and tidy with everything you could need, the beds were comfortable with a choice of hard or soft pillows, which I thought was a nice touch. Breakfast the next day was very well presented and tasted just as nice as it looked, with unlimited tea or coffee, everything from cereals to a full English was on offer and the view from the dining room overlooking Lime St station added to the relaxed atmosphere. Check out was hassle free and the use of a luggage room was yet another nice touch, once again the staff were very pleasant and helpful, would highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again when next in Liverpool, one of my favourite cities and now one of my favourite hotels. We were able to have a late check-out, take advantage of their room service menu and put our feet up on their comfy sofas. It was a very enjoyable stay in Liverpool City Centre. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Accommodations My daughter and I stayed at the hotel for three nights. Overall the hotel was clean and the room was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I love the location of the hotel, close proximity to the train station and shopping centre. My only complaint is that the AC in the room was not as cool as we would have wanted. More variety could be offered on the menu. Overall it was a very good experience. July 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Third visit Our latest stay at this Hotel was our third in the past five years. We know there are more "Up Market " hotels in the same central area of the City, however we choose to stay at the Holiday Inn because the location,breakfasts,and general facilities available are very good. But the main reason we continue to stay is because the staff are really brilliant, great can do attitude and nothing is too much trouble. To be Honest the hotel does need some refurbishment in the near future but it is clean and it has a very friendly feel about it. July 20, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Always a pleasure Holiday Inn Liverpool is lovely inside ( well there isn't much that an be done about the outside of a 1960s/70s building complex is there. I remember, as a child living on Merseyside, the whole complex being built and it wasn't good then!). The view from the restaurant to the station is always fun and lovely now they have made the front of the station look so nice. The rooms are clean and the beds really comfortable. The choice of pillows is a good idea ( I prefer the soft ones). I ALWAYS have a really good nights sleep here and the breakfast is gorgeous. The staff both at reception and restaurant are always lovely and cheerful. Thanks and keep up the good work July 10, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by large room and comfy bed having arrived in the city by train we crossed the road and were in the hotel in 2 minutes.perfect location for the shopping centres and lots of pubs to choose from.hotel isn't the most pleasant building from outside, however inside it's a very friendly hotel, nice décor in the bright reception and very friendly staff.we were on the 3rd floor and the room was big and spacious, nice bathroom and very clean, tea and coffee supply was very generous, more than enough for our 2 night stay.we had a drink in the bar on the 2nd floor,however we never had any food during our stay as we were meeting friends and eating out. overall we thought the hotel was excellent value and a great location and we will stay here again next time were in the city. Having to pay £8 for WIFI for the evening (24hr pass) was a little disappointing, but bearable in the circumstances. Missed not having the basic toiletries in the bathroom. But overall it was great. Last time we had twin rooms,but this time we had double rooms beds were not as comfortable as twin beds. staff were very friendly and helpfull every thing we asked for it was supplied be it extra milk or anyting else Breakfast was very good with lots of choice again staff very freindly and provided tea and coffee very quickley Location is exellent short walk to Albert docks and Exllent for the shop paradise for shopaholics Highley recommend this hotel. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great weekend break Used points for a weekend and was apprehensive about leaving the car in a public car park but it was fine. Hotel location was great and everything in the city was very accessible. Reception was very friendly and helpful. Room was excellent with good beds. The only fault was the shower which could be better - not the worst but pressure could be improved. Overall experience was very good and we would definitely stay there again if we visit the city. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Could be Better The hotel is very well located for shops, city centre attractions, the docks, museums, cathedrals and literally a stones throw from Lime St Station. We walked most places without any difficulty. The outside of the hotel is tired and not attractive and the St John's shopping centre it sits on top of is rather naff with lots of cheap shops. The room was ordinary by Holiday Inn standards (I stay in lots of them all over the country so have a fair view of the norm!) but was clean with and OK TV. No fridge though and the air con was somewhat loud. Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and extremely helpful - can't fault the hotel on that front. We only ate breakfast but the quality of food was good and the specially cooked items were particularly good. Sadly the entrance and general tired state of the hotel let's it down, for example the hallways didn't smell good and the carpets had long creases in them. June 3, 2013

Yes the location is great but in general the Hotel is tired with worn an ululating carpeting in communal spaces and even the room. My major grip is that on arrival back to the hotel at around 1am, my partner and I were greeted by the door men (and I totally understand why a city central hotel needs them). My room booking was for two people (we are two guys) and we had the key card and card which I held when arriving at the door. The door man (bouncer|) asked repeatedly what room was my partner was staying in, and asked to see his room card time and time again. We replied a number of times we are staying the same room, and that the room was reserved for two people. It took some convincing and eventually he checked to room list to confirm "our story" Is such a bright and vibrant city I am shocked my partner and I would have such an issue. We got a fabulous congratulations and 15 mins later a card and chocolates delivered. To the room. A very very personal touch from a big chain hotel. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ideal City Centre Location We stayed in this hotel on 14/15th May 2013: The hotel is located directly opposite Lime St Rail Station and very close to the Empire Theatre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was modern, comfortable and clean. The only negatives are related to the food & drink; We both had lasagne which was of poor standard and the length of time between courses was nearly 20 minutes. The drinks we had in the bar were fine but the cost was too high - hence only 2 drinks purchased. May 21, 2013
