Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Home away from home The check in and out were quick and easy. The reception area was relaxed and welcoming. We were part of a wedding party and we had a great deal on the room overnight and the breakfast next day. As a wedding venue, it was beautifully decorated, and the staff had taken great pains to ensure everything went smoothly, which it did. Everything worked in the room! The bed was really comfortable, as were the pillows. I had an excellent night's sleep. The blackout curtains made the room dark enough for me to sleep well too. Everywhere was clean, the public areas, toilets, and our room. The staff were all excellent, nothing was too much trouble for them, even at the end of the evening they were still cheerful and helpful! I felt I really mattered as a guest, because of the attitude of all the staff I came across. To me, the staff are the essence of any organisation, and are the most important part of my stay in any hotel. After all, you can request a change of room, extra towels, more pillows, ect but you can't summon up staff who are willing to go the extra mile for you. May 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very welcoming and comfortable hotel in convenient location I so remember this place back in the 60's. Danced to Kenny Ball; Ken Colyer and Graham Bond Organisation when the car park was full of Vespas/Lambrettas plus my Mk1 Ford Consul. My sister had her wedding reception there and it was a friendly and charming hotel back then and it remains so today. The only disparaging comment I can make about my stay was having to pay to park. Guests really shouldn't have to do this. May 12, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Helpful staff The helpfulness of the staff is very good in this hotel; they are a credit to the IHG group. Nothing seems too much effort. To nit pick: It would be nice to have brighter bulbs in the rooms - I know there is a push towards low energy bulbs but LED bulbs are so much better than fluorescent bulbs, and working is fifficult in poor light. It would be nice to have a power socket on both sides of the bed for mobile phone charging, tablets or laptops, esp if used as an alarm clock. May 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disgusted Bottom sheet had a body hair on and black bit of dirt. Felt the bed had been made but the bedding had not been changed. After a tiring six hour journey we had to have the bed changed.We will never stay there again. Breakfast staff rushing around made breakfast experience unrelaxing. I don't know why this was as breakfast is self service. May 4, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Stay, friendly helpful staff, comfortable room Had a great stay as usual here, only blot on the hotels copy book this time was that I was not able to connect to the hotels wifi, they tried to resolve the issue but unfortunately my phone was one of those that was not compatible for some reason. Was slightly irritating as my mobile is registered in The Netherlands so I had to buy data from my phone service provider. But that said, the hotel tried to resolve the issue as best they could and everything else about the stay was perfect. April 19, 2016
