Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by London - Bexley Fine, comfortable hotel. Good location and welcoming staff. Good value for money. Is well maintained, clean and tidy and represents good value for money. Other Holiday Inn premises, especially some of those in central London ( Oxford Circus ) should come and see how a decent hotel is maintained and run. I've stayed here on several occasions and will stay here again. Only 2 negatives: restaurant menu was average (no salad main courses and had run out of lamb chops) and there was a fully decorated Christmas tree in the lobby! September 6, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Minimalism I wrote to the GM on 29/08/13 and as at 31/08/13, no response. 1. Bedroom * Double room, one chair? * No HI notepad or pen? * No Hilden water – usually provided to PC guests? * No disposable face “cloths” [standard in HI Express] * No biscuits on the courtesy tray – or has the standard changed? * No courtesy email facility – one hour free per day at Theatreland; free in the lobby of the HI Express in Greenock! And free in the hotel local to my office where the tariff is less than I paid on Monday! I am aware of the ongoing change but frankly this is neither fast enough nor fair! Wi-fi access is available in most coffee chains now, and even our local bus service offers free wi-fi!! It is a disgrace that Holiday Inn does not nor apparently has a standardised policy on the provision of complimentary wi-fi. * No Guest Comment Card [at least not immediately visible]. 2. Restaurant * Dinner – see below. * Breakfast – compared to Theatreland, a travesty! i.No grapefruit juice – the orange juice was ‘cheap and not cheerful’; ii.No bananas; iii.Only one milk albeit soya available on request; iv.No fruit yoghurt – only plain and fruit in a very sweet, syrupy sauce; v.Rationed coffee. 3. Dinner Accepting that it was a Bank Holiday and the Restaurant was closed, there can be no excuse for: * Lasagne that resembled the Dolmio advert! A slab of pasta interspersed with meat – no offer of Parmesan; surely it is not beyond the capability of the kitchen to prepare this in individual baking dishes for subsequent reheating? * The “salad” consisted of less than a handful of dried lettuce leaves; what happened to the sauce, tomatoes etc? * The garlic bread was well-crunchy. On a positive note, the Receptionists were a credit to the team – re-allocating my room and determining my local transport needs [given the cost of accessing the hotel’s wi-fi system], and in the morning offering to credit the meal albeit that this should not have been necessary in the first place and which gesture was declined, and making every effort to ensure I left a “happy” guest. “Our promise is that we will genuinely do all we can to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible” – sorry, but in my case this was as far removed as is possible! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight Stay We were in the area for a family function and decided to stay here for one night. The welcome and service we received couldn't be faulted and the room was clean and comfortable. The whole experience was marred by breakfast which was definitely extremely poor value at £11.50 each. The bacon was cold, despite the container being refilled just before I took my portion, the tomatoes were raw and were heated under the heat lamps (should be served either cold or cooked!), the egg was overcooked and the toaster was only half grilling one side of the toast. Despite this I still consider the stay to be good value for money but please try harder with the breakfast. August 16, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ok hotel not usual holiday inn standard I don't like writing negative comments, the hotel was ok. My priority level was not a knowledged. Service in the restaurant was very slow. I checked in with inclusive evening meal but this was not explained to me, the staff in the restaurant mislead me on day 1 and 2 which meant I had an unexpected bill at check out. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable, reception staff very friendly We stayed for 4 nights whilst the room the nice and pleasant unfortunately we were disappointed with a few areas, the air conditioning did not work properly and this particular week of our stay was extremely hot. There were a lot of stains on the carpet in the room and the bathroom tiles had mould stops on them. On the weekend morning of our stay we went for Breakfast the cost of breakfast was £16.95 there were 3 of us and one of us decided not to go as it was rather expensive. The 2 who went for breakfast said that the lady who served them was very unpleasant she showed them to their table did not advise them where or how to use the breakfast facilities did not offer then a drink spoke to all the other guests in the restaurant but not to them, was very unpleasant the only words she said to them was "how are you going to pay for this" a bit rude to say the lease especially when we are your guests. The reception staff at the hotel were extremely polite and helpful in fact they went of their way to ensure that we were ok. The biggest let down was the morning that we went for breakfast it really let everything down. On the whole the hotel is very pleasant and we would go back there and we have recommended the hotel to people. August 13, 2013

Have to say that the hotel is lovely, very clean and comfortable and the staff were outstanding, in particular the reception staff. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient and comfortable I chose this hotel primarily because of its location, but on arrival was particularly impressed by the bedroom, its standard of cleanliness and by the welcoming attitude of staff. Although close to the A2, the hotel was quiet and we slept well. Bexley rail station is only 5-10 minutes walk away, so transport liks are good. At breakfast there was a good choice of cooked and uncooked items. Only slight downside was the friendly receptionist telling me that she was looking for a room upgrade (unasked-for) and then not finding one...maybe better to keep quiet! Recommended. August 5, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Hotel The staff could not be more helpful. It is a very comfortable hotel with a very relaxing feeling to it. Breakfast was excellent, again with good service. Everything was clean and tidy. Our room was pretty quiet considering on a main road. The room has a modern feel to if and air conditioning good considering nearly 30 degrees outside. Price is pretty reasonable for the area. Would have no problem staying again. The function room with buffet was also very good indeed. July 21, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Soul night at the Village We travelled down by train from Bedfordshire - an easy 10 mins stroll from the Bexley station to the Hotel. Staff were very helpful and polite. Very impressed with the rooms, clean, tidy and very comfortable beds. Even though you had the busy motorway next to the hotel it wasn't that noisey even with the windows open. We didnt eat at the hotel but the people who we spoke to were more than happy with their meals! Maybe next time. Thanks for the stay July 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My sons wedding My husband and I booked in here as my son was getting married in the church around the corner and the reception was walking distance away. On arrival we were both flustered because we had been rushing around all morning and were running late - the staff were patient, understanding and helpful. A lovely, clean and comfortable room (and we were very grateful that it was a smoking room as requested). Plenty of towels and hot water as we rushed around to get ready and left for the church - not enough tea etc as is usual for these type of places, but we had brought our own supplies). On return in the early hours of the next morning staff were polite and asked how our day was. There was an array of choices at breakfast, although the cooked food was only luke warm and the tea could have been offered far more quickly seeing as staff were not busy (but I suppose that depends on personal choice, as I like tea the minute I get up). After breakfast we were able to return to our room and catch up on a little sleep before setting off home. Very comfortable bed and I really didn't want to get up at 11.45 to leave! Overall a pleasant stay which was good value for money and made a perfect end to a brilliant day. July 7, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Freindly staff and spotlessly clean chose this hotel purely on convenient location for family party. Immediately staff at reception were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was spotlessly clean and the view from our window (1st floor) was very pleasent as it overlooked the garden. We met other family members at the bar where the staff were extremely chatty with us and the surroundings were very comfortable we all felt relaxed. Ordered a light lunch which was delicious. Reception ordered our taxis with ease and on arrival back after party we had an extremely good, quiet nights sleep (we were concerned as other reviews mentioned the traffic on the A2 but we didn't hear anything. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it, for the first time ever at a hotel I had 2 platefuls! A very good variety on offer with again friendly staff and clean areas. Throughout our stay we felt very relaxed and at ease. TV in the lounge and a well stocked bar with plenty of comfortable , modern seating helped. My only negative comment is the bar prices are a little steep and I felt I was showering in the dark as there was no overhead lighting in the bath but the room itself had everything else #a fridge maybe might have helped) and our bed was very comfy. Will definetly stay again when visiting my family in that area. June 9, 2013
