Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Well-located central London hotel We stayed at the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury for the weekend as I was taking part in London Marathon. However, Holiday Inn is the partner hotel of London Marathon, I didn't stay as part of a package. The hotel is well located for Kings Cross/St Pancras (the station that I arrived at#, being about 15 minute's walk. Russell Square tube station is about 2 minute's walk away. I had booked a family room for myself and my 2 daughters, which had a double room and a double sofa bed. My double bed was very comfy, but the reviews about the sofa bed weren't as favourable. The facilities in the room were fairly standard - tea/coffee; TV; trouser press. One choccy bar per day was provided - my daughters kindly brought the Mars Bar to the finish line of the marathon for me - it was appreciated! The bathroom was small, but adequate, with a reasonable selection of toiletries - including a bathrobe and slippers. We didn't use the restaurants, but there are loads of great restaurants in the immediate vicinity. For breakfast, we bought food from Waitrose in the Brunswick Centre #adjacent to hotel# or Tesco #opposite Russell Square tube). The Holiday Inn Bloomsbury was a great place to stay for a central London hotel - close to the sites and transport links, but in an area with a very village-y atmosphere. I would recommend it for somewhere to stay in London. May 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Blooming Lovely Back in 2010-2011 when I was regularly working in London and having to stay overnight I used to stay at this hotel and always found it very homely. The breakfasts were always good! April 27th was my wife's birthday and as she loves London so much, as a birthday treat I had booked two night stay here 27/29th. And what a welcome we received. It was like being greeted as family by the male receptionist, yes the men can do just as good a job as the women! I had made the booking as a Priority Club card holder. Sadly as pensioners we cannot indulge as we used to do so our stays at the Holiday Inn are not as frequent as we would like them to be. We were welcomed by reception and given an upgrade to an executive room on the first floor, and as we had pre-booked dinner for the two nights, were treated to a glass of bubbly on her birthday evening which was very special. And who says hotels and their staff do not have heart? The dinner was superb as were all the meals we had at the hotel, and the room was excellent, just as I remember. Well done to the staff at the Holiday Inn, Bloomsbury (lovely area) who treated us so very very well and made my wife's birthday treat extra-special. Whether or not we will be able to stay here again depends on the changes the company makes to the Rewards Club system for those of us who have used the club frequently in the past but, due to changed financial circumstances, cannot use it as often as previously. We would certainly want to return to this hotel. This visit was made all the more special by the welcoming and service of the staff One minor thing. Could maintenance fit the panel on the side of the bath properly? It is the finishing touches that are very important. April 30, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing stay in London. A convenient hotel for theatre/museum breaks in London. The room was comfortable and spacious. We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and are likely to do so again. On this visit, however, there were a number of issues: no hot water in the morning (0830hrs) so one cold and one luke-warm shower; the wc did not flush at first attempt; there were paper and detritus beneath the bed.
