Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by My recent stay The room was very tired looking needing refurbishment. Heating not good but wonderful in bathroom. Handle on bathroom door coming off had to keep pushing it back on. Breakfast is excellent Although there were these few blips it will not stop us going back as we have stayed quite a few times here and is very handy to get into London. January 24, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Early 2015 Reservation The first King Size room provided was awful, which smelt of sewage, however the hotel moved us to another room immediately. The second room was ok, but a bit tired with the furniture and decor (bed was not as comfortable as some other Holiday Inns). The hotel seems to be slowly being renovated at present, so other rooms are possibly better. Breakfast was perfect, and the staff were very helpful/attentive. January 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to enjoy New Year's eve with kids and family This was a last moment decision to go out and celebrate the New Year's night, rather than stay at home and have friends over. If you want something special with children, it is quite difficult to find a special place. But we were lucky, and we did! Apparently this Holiday Inn organizes every year family parties for these occasions, and it did not disappoint us! The food was good, the disco music was excellent, the clown was Ok, although I would have hoped for a bit more entertainment for the children, but this was not a big issue. The only downside for me was the rushing through the meals, it felt like a challenge, who eats quicker, so we can finish already, clean the tables and start the disco. In my opinion and comparing to other celebrations, I believe that it should not be like that at all. The disco can still start (maybe after the mains), then have a break for desserts and coffee. Don't know, just a thought, but the plates were taken away very quickly, and we were not even asked if we finished, even when the plate was untouched. Otherwise, really good party, will definitely go again! January 6, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Apalling room and hotel Room heating was useless, staff insisted that the heating controls were not heating controls despite the fact a sign alongside said they were. Reception and bar areas festooned with workers drinking beers at 08:30 in the mornings. Thd hotel clearly had a lucrative contract for overnight workers and could not care about its regular personally paying clients. Truly dreadful and a kick in the face for regular clients over many many years. January 5, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very helpful reception staff made our stay My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a leisure weekend. On arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant receptionist, he acknowledged me as a rewards customer and gave us a free room upgrade. After dropping our bags in the room which was roomy with a huge comfortable bed we decided to go out. Not familiar with the area we enquired at the reception about options to travel into central London, the same receptionist outlined the choices and even called a taxi to take us to the local train station. We had a great evening out and benefited from a free late check out the following day. Would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel again. January 3, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Urgent work required for bathroom facilities I was upgraded to an Executive room, for which I'm grateful. Unfortunately, the plumbing in the bathroom was not to the standard I would have expected. The water pressure was extremely low in the shower. The toilet took an interminable length of time to refill and the hand sink outlet was virtually blocked. In short, the bathroom required complete refurbishment. I appreciate that maintenance work could not be carried out over Christmas, but, in my view, these are items that should have been known to the hotel management before Christmas I have stayed at this hotel before (and hope to do so again) and have never been similarly disappointed January 2, 2015
