Very helpful reception staff, happy to print out Boarding pass for your flights. The bar Food was very good at a decent Price and the Service was friendly and efficient. There is a shuttle bus to the Airport which costs 4 Pounds or you can get a taxi for 10 Pounds - definitely the quicker Option as the bus goes to other Hotels as well.
I had a single room which was small but had everything I needed - the bathroom was adequate though the flush didn`t work properly and it could do with updating. Despite being so Close to the Airport you could hear no planes and the Hotel was very peaceful and the beds very comfy. I would stay there again and can recommend it to anyone who wants convenience and a good nights sleep without too many frills.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by emahon64 The Hoppa driver warned me..
....that the hotel and its food would not be good, and he was correct. The hotel does not meet the standards of this platinum elite member, and does not compare with the standard of the Holiday Inns in the UK.
Overall, it looks like a hotel that the owner is trying to squeeze the last few quid from before it is sold or demolished. The hotel needs a good painting and cleaning.
I found the staff, informative, polite, courteous and extremely friendly. More than willing to help.
I wont be back.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Whitebear62 Getting old now
Arrived at this hotel which I only now use for convienence. The room was freezing cold and the bathroom was actually bigger then the bed room but looked it was taken from the set of one flew over the cuckoos nest.
During my stay the hotel had a total power failure that lasted some two hours and resulted in a massive queue in the foyer with no one getting access to pay or do anything. The whole soma rugby team was also stick in this mess.
I have stayed at this hotel before and can now confirm after yet another bad experience. I will not be staying here again. The other holiday inn about half a mile up the road is much better and I have just booked that for a few nights going forward to see how they do. If this was anywhere else in the world it would not get past a two star at best.
Also if your going to get a taxi from t4 to this hotel your looking at around 16.00 minimum. So don't let the name confuse you. If you go by the bus it's much cheaper. It is distance close but cost wise it's London plus pricing to get to it.
The only thing going for it was the staff in the restaurant and the bar.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gines41 Excellent hotel !
The distance from the airport is really close. The system in place for buses from and to airpot is awsome, they pick you up and drop you in front of the hotel and it's really cheap. The hotel is super clean, the staff is really good and the service is excellent !!! No complaints at all, the executive room had a nice view and everything was in the way it should be.
This is an excellent choice if you going through Heathrow !

I was kind of surprised that airport shuttle bus is NOT free of charge in Heathrow airport.
In the States, so called airport Hotel is free shuttle bus service for the guest.
It's O.K., here is NOT the States but London.
Hotel itself is O.K.
Recommend this hotel if you have early morning departure flight in Heathrow.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SafeTraveler Good, solid hotel
Staying in the Heathrow area? Consider the Holiday Inn Ariel. The staff are well trained, organized and helpful. The hotel is located very near the airport, in fact many of the rooms face the landing strip so kids (and adults, too) can watch planes land from their hotel room window. Don't worry: noise is hardly noticeable due to the double glazed windows that, when closed, seal out all but the very largest of planes.
While you can take the scheduled Hotel Hoppa bus from Heathrow for around £5 per person, there are many local London buses that can be used from the airport's Central Bus Station -- including the #105 and #140 -- for free because you remain in (or more accurately, stay just at the edge of) the Heathrow Free Travel Area.
The restaurant is adequate, although a bit pricey if you're comparing some other cities. But then again, it is London so nothing comes cheaply. :-)
One thing that people new to Heathrow should know is that there are several Holiday Inns in the airport area, and the Ariel property is one of two actually on the same Bath Road! Make sure you go to the correct one (it helps to print out your reservation for the taxi driver or bus operator).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by NDG07 A wonderful experience, excellent facilities.
I arrived back at London Heathrow, tired, hungry, unable to continue my journey home & needing somewhere close to terminal 3, to stay overnight. The hotel booking service at the airport was wonderful, within the hour, I was booked into your hotel, a beautifully appointed room, everything had been catered for. Although there was a private function on, I was able to get a meal, which was heaven after airline food & the complimentary Kit-Kat was a real treat. I will certainly stay with you again and recommend you to my friends.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Another great stay... defined by the staff and their commitment to customer service
I stay at this hotel very often, but I had to comment on tonights stay.
On arrival from a tiring drive Jade and Vierja met me at reception and had me laughing within minutes just by checking in and chatting.... great way to overcome a stressful drive.
I had already eaten before driving but the temptation of a hand made curry, by Qasim the Food manager, was too much to resist with my wine and I honestly say it was a superb plate of food. Depth of flavour and complexity I would commend the chef ten fold.
Great service at the bar from Tracey and Anna and its time for bed.
Once again, from a business traveller that spends every night of the week in IHG, I was made to feel at home... And that is the battle won

the rooms are OK, bars also OK.
the restaurant managed to destroy both a piece of meat, sirloin, and the last evening my burger. Fish is the only thing they are really capable of making, I'm afraid.

The reception staff was excellent wirth quick check in and very friendly. The breakfast was great and good value for money. The chef was very accommodating with my request and I was pleasantly surprised at the speed of service and having the food served to my table. The room was very clean and comfortable, just what you expect when you arrive late evening from a long haul flight.

Full service hotel with an excellent rate. Quick trip on the Hoppa Bus. Hotel and restaurant staff are terrific. Restaurant menu offers variety. Rooms are well maintained. Never over-crowded in my experience. My favorite place to stay when over-nighting at Heathrow.

I arrive late around 12;30am after driving from the north I was very tiered. after waiting a few min for the receptionist to arrive he gave me my room welcoming me as a gold member back to HI. SAYING THIS IS A VERY NICE ROOM! I went up to the 6 floor and put the key in the door opening it; to my total shock there was a man sat stark naked looking at his computer??????? HORIFIDE I went back to reception the receptionist apologised and gave me another room, this was on a floor in the hotel which was terrible old painted wooden boards on the walls sticky carpets it was in total need of a refurbishment... I was too tiered to go and complain in the morning I went to check out and was told I had to pay a further £10 to park my car for the 5 hrs I had stayed in this very poor quality hotel;; they eventually gave me a free??? exit ticket I would not ever stay in this HI again and would suggest others dont

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by RichardGibraltar In need of some love and affection
At check-in there was only 1 person on duty even though I lined up as a Platinum Member. Never mind, there are worser things in life. However, as others have stated, the carpets in the corridors and rooms need a facelift. The bathroom was small and cramped but I was amazed at the serious spots of rust by the side of the bath nearest to the wall. Mine was an Executive Room. Had my wife and kids been with me, there is no way either she or I would allow our kids to go near the bath - it was so bad. The bed was OK but the room and furniture are crying out for a lick of paint and varnish. Over the years I've stayed at the Ariel on several occasions - my 1st choice is the one on Sipson Way - its definitely better than this one.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Morioka Last minute surprise!
My last night in the UK after a 6-week stay was not supposed to be a pleasant one. Nudging 70 with not a lot of cash I made my way through London from Euston/bus/taxi/bus/Hoppa bus to my hotel. I was not expecting what I found - WHAT A SURPRISE. Comfy bed, AND a bubble bath (sore back from suitcase). Your front desk staff were very helpful in booking me a Terminal 4 shuttle and advising me that I could have a 2-course 'special' meal in the restaurant. My meal was first class. 4 different people made sure I needed nothing. After the good dining experience I also made time for breakfast too.
I am unlikely be in London again but will use your hotel chain if I ever need a bed for the night. I will also highly recommend you to my friends.
MANY THANKS, SUCH SERVICE IS A RARITY THESE DAYS.

The hotel is well located on Bath Road for both the airline services and car rental locations. The check-in and out service was both efficient and polite. The room, while being typical of the smaller UK hotel room size, was sufficiently large, clean, comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was clean, water hot and there was a bath plus shower which was a bonus. I booked via "Laterooms" and received an excellent rate. I will be back the next time that i pass through Heathrow.

While this hotel has a good location, close to the airport, it certainly shows its age.
Our room was musty smelling, the carpet was dirty, the furniture was old and broken, the bathroom wasn't that clean.
Thank goodness we only needed the room for one night.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Average Service and the Food was Fair
When we had breakfast, the service was poor, however, the housekeeping and front desk staff were friendly and we received good service. The guest room was fair, however, the décor needs to be updated and upgraded with more colour and newer furniture overall. The amenities were good. The location of the hotel was good for us, however, the noise from the airplanes was a abit noisy, even with a 2 pain glass window for our room.
Overall we would recommend this hotel to others.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Striperabit Small but comfortable bed
Even though so close to airport, inside the room is comfortably quiet. And the bed is small but well firm and could sleep well. Cause of strange shape of building, the room is not square, but no problem. Unfortunately cost to reach hotel is so expensive. This is not cause of hotel but...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Molpol Great place to stay. Excellent all round
My husband and I were very very pleased with our stay. Over the course of our trip back to the country we were both born in we stayed at the Ariel 2 times. Each time we had faultless service.
I suffered badly from travel sickness for my whole trip but each time we stayed here the staff were extremely understanding and helpful. Well done we will definitely stay here again when we come back for our next visit to England . Once again thankyou.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bathsheba Always a pleasure staying at the Heathrow Ariel.
Excellent service. The hall carpet is looking a bit tired and needs replacing, but the rooms are immaculate with snowy white bedlinen, comfortable beds and pillows of your choice. There is a very nice restaurant, but we particularly enjoy the pub meals. The Heathrow Ariel - my favourite hotel for winding down before the long trip home.

I had breakfasts included, but did not want to go downstairs, so left card outside doors to get room service breakfasts at 10:00. However at 10:30 had to call reception as our breakfast was not delivered. About 11:00 finally received them. At least they did not charge me for tray charges.
Also it was two single bed pushed together. As I was sleeping in the middle was falling into hole. Not good at all.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by IndyGirl1 Poor For A Hotel In London
I had a flight from the States into London. When I did get to my hotel, the staff was extremely unfriendly about helping me find my way around the city. They also could not tell me where my room was. .... I had to walk around the hotel to find out where I could sleep.
I did want to try the restaurant after trying to get around London for a day (I will say the natives are a lot kinder than those at the hotel) .
If you have kids, a family, or are a person who expects good service.... don't expect it here. I was not satisfied. I let my server know and the person at the front desk. I was told the exchange rate is good, so I got a good deal....
There are many hotels near the airport that would be better..
This is the first time I have NOT recommended a Holiday Inn, but the service was THAT bad...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Munro100 A Great Hotel For Heathrow
I had a fantastic stay here the service from start to finish was fabulous. From the welcome glass of wine on arrival and room upgrade to the map with directions for places to eat nearby all expertly given by the most helpful Sonia.
The Price was unbeatable too.
This hotel will definitely be my choice of stay whenever I am in the area again it is also handily served by several free buses as it's within the free bus travel airport zone and it only takes a few minutes to Heathrow Central Bus Station for Heathrow Terminals 1-3 so most convenient too.
I look forward to staying again soon

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Choiceless Recepcion personnel should more receptive
Reception personnel is riding on the wave of higher demand times and should be more receptive . When the tide turns clients will have more choices and will certainly think twice before considering this as a lodging option. Personnel in the restaurant area were more customer oriented and friendlier.Room is very small ,uncomfortable for a business traveller that has to turn the room into a temporary office.
