Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent facilities and great service Best hotel we have stayed in London. Very helpful staff pool and steam room kept the kids happy. Room service super quick even though we stayed at a very busy time of the year. Had to queue for breakfast but as mentioned stayed Christmas time so expected it to be busy. When seated the breakfast was first class. All staff were so attentive and helpful. Thanks to all of you for a wonderful Christmas break. December 23, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Staff pleasant but poor Holiday Inn We booked this hotel as it was billed as being at Kings Cross and I wanted to be near the station. It is indeed on Kings Cross Road but at the other end to the station - a good 15 minute walk. We arrived at 6.30pm and were told that our room was not ready! We are Gold IHG club members and regularly stay at these hotels as they are generally very good and this has not happened before. Apparently the previous guests had a late checkout. We had booked an Executve twin room but the receptionist thought we had a standard room - I had to show her my e-mail confirming an executive room for her to change her search. Nevertheless there was no vacant room. Finally she asked for advice from a senior colleague and was told to give us a different standard room and arrange for a maid to alter the room. Not a great start. We went to our room and a maid did indeed arrive 20 minutes later and bring robes, different soaps and water plus juices. The room was a good size for London and the bathroom had a good over-bath shower which was powerful and hot. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were good as is usual with IHG hotels. But everything was tired and in real need of rennovation. We had booked breakfast but this was really disappointing. The bacon, eggs and sausages were cool and the very pleasant staff did apologise but seemed unable to keep things warm with the equipment they had. All the staff were cheerful and helpful and I am sure would do what they could to make this a good stay but sadly this is not a good hotel and surely arrival at 6.30pm should ensure that a pre-booked room was ready. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel, but not the best location Although the location of this is a distance from any tube or major train station, the room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were always attentive and happy to help you. The breakfast had plenty of choice and was a nice experience. The bed and choice of pillows was good. December 20, 2014
