Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service I booked this hotel in a hurry only realize on the day that I was due to stay that I had booked the wrong day, I had booked I non refundable and non transferable pay up front discount room, I called the Hotel with my mistake and they changed the date over with no extra cost to me or any fuss, the staff are all really friendly and helpful, the location could not have been better, we where going to winter wonderland in Hyde Park (about a ten minute walk away) and a days shopping in Oxford Street (about a 2 minute walk away) had a great stay and would recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel in this part of London. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location for west end shops Close to Oxford Street in a relatively quiet location. Reception staff attentive and efficient and treated very well as IHG member with upgraded room provided, unprompted. Pillows normally good in Holiday Inn but not this time and common areas on 6th floor, whilst clean and tidy, are looking a bit tired. At the price, still the hotel of choice for this location particularly for Oxford Street shopping. Good range of restaurants close by (3 minute stroll) in St Christopher's Place and adjacent James Street. December 16, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room condition We made this reservation at the last minute since our original reservation at the Crowne Plaza didn't go through because of a computer glitch. The location was not really our preference but we didn't have too much of a choice. The room was a decent size but it was quite bothersome that the bathroom smelled moldy and had triggered my allergies. We also noticed that there was some leaking in the airconditioning unit that we had to use the garbage can to prevent it from making a puddle in the floor. December 13, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet location right in the heart of the West End This location, tucked just back from busy Oxford Street and the West End of London is ideal for shopping and sightseeing. Although the public spaces have a slightly outdated look, my standard room on the 4th floor was quiet, bright clean and modern, the beds comfortable and there is good WifI. The streets around are attractive and a bit on an oasis of calm at this time of year (pre-Xmas). December 6, 2014

I booked this for my wifes birthday trip, two rooms our room was above some kind of extractor which kept my wife awake along with poorly fitting curtains that didn't block out the light coming in. checked in by "humor" he was great and friendly and helpful but breakfast was a different matter, woman showed us our table and then walked away that's it ?? no coffee/tea or theres the buffet help yourselves , check out was again bad despite talking to the reception girls there was no response that's bad, having worked for ihg for 6 years I know poor customer service and this hotel needs more stay real training!! Look at your customers when you talk to them!! acknowledge them!! smile!! if it was not for the location I would have stayed elsewhere and wont be back anytime soon. was not asked if I was a priority club member! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Room and comfort Priority Club Member Duration of Stay - 27, 28, 29, 30 November 2014 Our usual Christmas Shopping time in London and The Holiday Inn, Welbeck Street. (We normally visit twice per year). Booked Executive Room at beginning September, on arrival, was given room 675. For three adults, and an Executive Room, this was certainly not to the usual standard for our November stay, or, the standard we have come to expect at Welbeck Street. When the sofa bed was made up for the third adult there was little room to move about, very cramped. After 5 hours travel, I used the toilet - but there no water to flush away the debris. Went to wash my hands - again, no water. Reception then gave us room 671 which was not much better, in size, than 675. For example, please check out 'wardrobe' for 3 adults. But what upset us most, especially as I manage instructors delivering health and safety training at Ineos and BP in Grangemouth, was the constant drone, pulsating in our ears the whole night through. There was a large black funnel right outside the bedroom window and all night long, the noise sounded like a coach-engine left running. On departure, I left the keys at the main reception desk and said to reception #if I return to Holiday Inn#, I would be careful, in future, of the room I was given. Finally, my critiques have always been more than complimentary about my stay in The Holiday Inn, never, until now,have I had cause to complain, however, this time, I could not wait to be home to get a decent night's sleep. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bed linen the hotel did not provide adequate bed linen. By the end of November in UK it is cold. To issue a very thin duvet is fine in the summer months, but not at all adequate to keep warm in the winter. the extra blanket in the cupboard was not clean - unimpressive. However, for me the whole standard of the hotel was not good. it seems to me a hotel which has reduced levels of standards everywhere and consequently the staff, other guests in the hotel are really not so nice. the whole atmosphere generates an aura of low standard and essentially an unpleasant hotel experience. Perhaps certain people have come to accept poor standards, poor service - but I am the opposite. I suspect this is hotel where the staff are under paid and under valued and it has a knock on effect everywhere and particularly to the guests. December 4, 2014
