Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by checkin was a disaster i was checking in on a travel agent special rate. I was treated like a second rate citizen by the receptionist due to the fact that i didnt have an IATA card. who has an IATA card these days? in 20 years of working in the industry i have never been asked for an IATA card at checkin - a wage slip showing who i work for is generally sufficient - not at the holiday inn, Oxford Circus. I was genuinely appalled at the way i was spoken to and if it were not for the fact that this weekend was a celebration i would have demanded to speak to the manager but we just wanted to hit town and get on with our weekend. in the end i was given my key and told that i would definitely be impressed with my room. the view of a brick wall just topped it all off. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by THEATRE GOER THE HOTEL IS IN AVERY GOOD PLACE FOR SHOPS AND SHORT TAXI TO WESTEND . THE ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN . TEA BAGS AND COFFEE IN THE ROOM WHICH WAS NICE TO HAVE WHEN WE GOT BACK FROM THEATRE.THE BEDS WERE COMFORTABLE BUT WE DID NOT USE THE BAR OR DINING ROOM AS WE ONLY STAYED ONE NIGHT. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 3 nights stay in March "14 We stayed here for 3 nights in March! When booking the hotel I felt slightly deflated at the price for a holiday inn.... I needn't have worried! The service was fantastic! I have stayed in other hotels in the heart of London & paid a lot more for a lot less! It was nice to be given a room straight away that was beyond our expectations! It was very spacious & clean. The breakfast was great & staff very friendly & efficient! Location was perfect! 3min walk from bond street tube station! In a nice area too! I would definitely recommend & stay here again! Thank you for a lovely weekend away! March 28, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor reservations service While I cannot complain about the cleanliness or other aspects of the hotel the experience reserving the room was very poor. I made the reservation using the IHG app and received an email confirming my two rooms. A week before my stay I then received another email reminding me of my stay this time listing only one room. When I rang the hotel I was told I only had one room reserved, I complained and was put through to IHG customer care who were closed. Why put me through to customer care when they are closed the hotel front desk should be able to handle this. I then rang back again only to be told I did intact have two rooms booked and the hotel's systems split the reservation into two. This might sound trivial however it caused a significant amount of stress especially when the first person I spoke to told me that I definitely only had one room reserved and the hotel was full. The second issue occurred when I checked out, I had my bill placed under my door overnight. I'd prepaid for both my rooms. When I checked the bill I discovered I'd been over charged by £80. I went to reception to enquire about this and immediately the receptionist knew what I was talking about and gave me the receipt to say I'd been refunded that £80. Again this might sound like a non issue as it had been resolved, however that is £80 that the hotel have had in their bank account earning interest for a month that wasn't in my bank account earning interest. I also wonder had I not queried this whether I would have even received the refund. I certainly will not be using this hotel again or recommending it to anyone I know. March 28, 2014

We were assigned to a room on second floor, it was quiet at night but some machines outside were making unpleasant noise in the morning. March 20, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Disapointed Needed a last minute Hotel whilst on business in London over a weekend, struggled to book by phone, kept waiting for 20 minutes and never answered. Managed to book on-line and use points for the stay. No Hotel parking, NCP a short trek down the road in a grotty building. Overall Hotel was not what I would have expected from past London experience's, in fact just about the worst stay I have encountered anywhere. Reception staff did their best, but overall very underwhelmed. Unable to purchase breakfast as we had not pre booked / pre paid. This Hotel is clearly still in the Dark ages. Other London Holiday inns are better value, and much more agreeable. March 12, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by central, easy reach of city centre This hotel is ideally placed for the shopping and theatres etc. In a fairly quite street away from lots of traffic though it is easy to get a cab outside if required. The concierges were very helpful for this as were all the staff. The restaurant is good value for money. March 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stayed for League Cup Final and a few days after. Excellent all round. Hotel staff were very good at providing service on a busy cup final weekend. Great homely feeling right in the middle of London. One of my best stays at a hotel for a long time. Martina on the front desk was exceptional. Lots of other guest on the weekend also commenting about the great service. We had reasons to be grumpy as Sunderland fans because we got beat 3-1 in the League Cup final however the servise was great and really made the weekend. Well Done. March 7, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel I stayed here with a friend as I was down for the Capital One Cup Final. I chose a more centrally located hotel as we both wanted to be nearer to an abundance of bars and places to eat. The Hotel itself is ideally located about 5 mins walk from Oxford Circus and the undeground station situated here. We also managed to walk quite comfortably to Leicester Sq (where we ate) and to Carnaby Street too for some quaint, homely bars. We chose to also drink in the Bar on the ground floor of the Hotel and were welcomed by friendly, attentive bar staff and relaxed in a nice ambience with other football fans. The room was large and had two double beds. We were in a corner room and had a lovely view down the street, laden with quintessential english buildings either side. The beds were comfortable, pillows were plentiful and we both managed a great nights sleep. The bathroom was spacious, but felt old and that it had not been cleaned in a (very!) long while. The shower was dirty, tiles looked old and worn and there was a distinct lack of bathroom amenities (just a Dove hand/body wash attached to the wall). I was welcomed as an IHG member and the check-in process was seamless and efficient. I would easily recommend this Hotel but I think the bathrooms need to be a little cleaner. March 6, 2014

You are also close to the theatres and restaurants in West End. Highly recommended for a weekend in central London. March 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient Location The location is convenient for Oxford Street shopping and for Bond Street underground station. Internet access is ridiculously expensive and I informed the receptionist that this would prevent me from staying with Holiday Inn in the future. It transpired that the service is free if you sign up to the hotel chain's reward scheme and the receptionist had omitted to inform me! A leaking tap had not been attended to prior to our visit. With a televised rugby match in progress there was no quiet corner to sit and talk with visiting friends. On the plus side, my wife and I arrived at 09:00 direct from a long-haul night flight and a room was found for an early check-in, so thank you! February 28, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poorly maintained hotel The rooms have clearly not had much maintenance in this hotel. Damaged doors, damaged paint work, very tired and dated. Smelly bathroom. Poor quality beds and Pillows. Room very cold. Not really got much positives to say. Breakfast room again very dated and dark. Food was okay, but only okay. Bar area again dark and dated, service was okay. I would only stay here if there were no other choice. Location is good though, Ah found a positive! February 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Room and Great Staff I have travelled a lot for business and have found the Holiday Inn chain to be one of the best. The rooms are wonderful and the choice of pillows is just one example of the little things that makes your stay. The staff are welcoming, try to do everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The location of the Oxford Circus hotel is very convenient as it is in the centre of London. The only downside I have with this hotel is the limited food choice, it would be nice to have a wider range of food, but I am probably being over critical. I would recommend this to others but am afraid if I do so I won't get in myself :-) February 9, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by room location and type the first room we were allocated was beside an inner 'well' so lots of wind noise......reception without hesitation found us another room - but this was an adjoined room and was very noisy from guests returning at 2am with no regard for other guests and obviously sleeping 3/4 to a room so disappointed as previous stays had been okay So the type and location of the room is important February 4, 2014

We found the hotel to be comfortable and the staff friendly and welcoming. On this occasion it was only a short stay but I would definitely stay there again if I was coming up again for a leisure break. January 18, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Adjoining rooms We booked one room through my prioity points and paid for the second - we had adjoining rooms which was ideal as our grandson was looking forward to coming in and out of our room. A fault with the flushing system on the toilet kent a room change for my daughter and grandson this was very disappointing. I would also make the point that at 9-30 the cooked breakfast was very dry and not at all enjoyable. That said the general staff were helpful and courtesy January 10, 2014

However, the room was incredibly hot and there was no way of turning down the heating, so we had to keep the air-conditioning on at 19oC for the entire time. Ridiculous waste of energy!!! I was meant to receive a bonus 500 points as set out in a letter from the hotel, but lack of transparency in membership statement makes this all but impossible to check, along with other points earned during our stay. This is a relatively minor gripe which I would have set out in an email directly to IHG had I been able to find a contact email address on the web-site (please take this as a recommendation to include customer service contact details). Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room, smelled of paint Pleasant room and hotel was conveniently located. Only downside is that it must have been recently painted and the smell was quite strong. I cannot understand why the hotel did not award points for this room (I also booked a twin room for 3 nights, this double room was deemed to be an "overlapping stay" for which no points were earned). Pretty lousy rules. It is also difficult to see the breakdown of the points awarded on my recent statement, so no way of checking if all is correct - I was meant to receive a bonus 500 points as set out in a letter from the hotel, but lack of transparency in membership statement makes this all but impossible to check.
