My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Oxford Circus for 7 days/6 nights on a city trip to London.
Our room on the 3rd floor overlooked a fairly busy street. The noise of traffic and people quietened down after sundown. The room size and the bed were upto Holiday Inn standards. The housekeeping did a very thorough job ensuring cleanliness, this was a plus compared to some of the other hotels chains we've stayed in.
The location of the hotel was excellent, just off Oxford Street, very close to Regent Street, Soho and Marylybone with a wide option of cafes and restaurants near by. Bus stops Oxford Circus Station (7 minute walk) and Bond street station only 5 minute walk away made it very accessible to all main attractions.
The reception staff was helpful when asked questions but more curt than friendly.
The biggest flaw was the Wifi Internet services. All guests enjoy wifi in their rooms according to the amenities. Our room did receive wifi however only near the door and in the passage leading upto the main bed area. There was limited wifi on one side of the bed and absolutely no wifi connection on the other. We had to pull up a chair near the door of the room to use the iPad or our phones in order to check our emails and do our online check in for our flight. We reported this issue to the reception and they promptly offered to move us to a different room (as if expecting this) the Following day. We did not wish to pack up all our belongings to move to a different room after two days so we did not switch rooms. However we could not have been the first guests to complain about this. We also signed up for the IHG Rewards club membership which promised us hi speed internet in our room which did not really help as we were still unable to use the wifi in the main premise of the room.
The lady at the reception offered us 1000 points at checkout when we notified her of this issue. I am yet awaiting the points of appear on my account.
