Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good staff, average to poor hotel Only the excellent attitude of the staff makes this hotel acceptable. The rooms are tiny and those on the inner courtyard have the feel of a prison block. The room decor is institutional grey adding to the feeling that one is serving a night in jail ! The corridors are shabby and in dire need of refurbishment. There is a car park underneath the hotel although the masses of warning signs there suggest a major crime problem and a high likelihood of having one's car broken into. In simple terms there are other much better IHG hotel group hotels in London for a comparable price, this is one to avoid. December 15, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great customer service, heat malfunction We recently stayed at the hotel for a Kings College conference, traveling in from the States. The hotel staff confirmed the comments of previous guests with their strong professional ethic and excellent customer service. The room was very clean if, as is typical in London, small. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the coffee and tea service in the room very acceptable. The breakfast in the morning is worth purchasing if you're staying at the hotel--it is quite filling, with health-conscious options. We also enjoyed a very satisfactory dinner one night. The concierge was friendly and answered several questions well and was very good at hailing taxis for guests. The one issue involved the break-down of the air conditioning system our last night, which turned into an exhausting affair--the heat is turned up high overall in the hotel during the cold months (seemingly typical for London) and turning off the radiator helps but marginally, so you need the air or face a sweltering night. After several staff members tried to fix the problem without success, the manager did the right thing and compensated us for our trouble in a mutually agreeable fashion. That was quite professional--and much appreciated. We anticipate several happy returns in the future. December 7, 2014
