Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Average Intercon This hotel's team has a lot of attitude. Most of time you will hear a firm "no" for many things. When we checkin, we pre booked from previous night. First we were told rooms are not available as we didn't advise on our arrival times. After confronting the front desk team we were provided rooms. Duty manager was very defensive and kept on blaming us for not providing arrival details. Instead of suggesting what can be done, she just was adamant not to agree with us. Eventually when we asked for refund for the night we have paid, she had the audacity to say even that is not possible. Sometimes during their servicing, there can be inconsistency of missing amenities. Mattresses are too soft to sleep on. As a result gave me a back pain. Breakfast room is actually a faulty room. Tables don't have salt and pepper and you have to get from other table. Cutlery are never replaced. You can sit with dirty plates. There are so many servers and staff will pass by your table but never clear them or pay attention to. Gym has equipment with rust all over and some are hard to use. Treadmills have screws coming off. I asked for ironing of my suits and was told that there are no facilities available instead I must go to a neighbouring laundry who will happily do the same. In today's world any business hotel offers this service. TV channels are hard to access and have to go through layers of selection. This is definitely not an Intercon hotel which I am used to. Water pressure in shower is a dismal. Positive - Hotel is ideally located next to EXCEL with 5 minutes.Rooms are spacious with all relevant amenities. It has a nice writing desk. November 14, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Most helpful and friendly staff I have stayed at Crowne plaza twice before but at different location. Each time has been good but this was really exceptional. All of the staff, without exception were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I was very tired but started the day smiling because smiling is infectious. The Spa was great, the food delicious, if a little pricey (London is generally expensive) and the veg cooked to perfection. Breakfast buffet was varied and very good but it was the service which was outstanding. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. I was not keen on the really dim and blue lights in the restaurant, but thats my age. Food was great. November 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent, affordable stay in a beautiful hotel We stayed here to attend a convention at Tobacco Docks over a weekend. The staff were incredibly friendly and willing to help. The facilities were great, the room itself was lovely - with all the amenities that you could need - we didn't try the spa but the bar, room service and breakfast were all five star. Whilst the distance for us to get to the convention wasn't far, when we went to Oxford Street for shopping it was probably half an hour on various tubes and trains. The train was a two minute walk around the corner from the hotel which was handy and the staff at the hotel were more than happy for us to leave our bags in their luggage room both before we checked in and after we checked out. I'd definitely recommend this hotel, and will return if we need to be in that area of London again. November 7, 2014

As we had picked it on price we were amazed on arrival at the standard of the hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable with lots of little extra touches. The bed was comfy and the bathroom really nice. Good blackout curtains for a good nights sleep and even though we had the window open there was no noise. Breakfast service was good and there was a really good choice of food to suit all tastes. Convenient for both the DLR and the skyway over to the O2. Would highly recommend and will certainly stay again. November 5, 2014

The food was lovely tasting in the restaurant but not enough on the plate for the main meal. We are not used to posh food, A few more potatoes and veg would not go a miss. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely hotel...great room! I was staying here as was seeing Lady Gaga at the O2..so I chose it as it said 0.9 miles to O2. The Emirates Skytrain is just accross the road , so if you leave early enough in time for your concert at O2 or pre-book the Emirates Skytrain, then it's ideal! The hotel itself is lovely and currently under refurbishment ...and what a great refurbishment it is!! I was upgraded to a room with a Kingsize bed , all newly refurbished with a large wetroom with walk-in shower .It WAS a disabled room ( there were emergency chords and hand-rails) but that did not bother me , as I had so much room for my money!!! Fab view too of the O2 . Lovely big comfortable bed, and nice welcome tray with buiscuits, and hot chocolate included. Bathrobe too! Free use of pool, steamroom & sauna which I did next morning .Good breakfast ...lovely bacon and eggs cooked to perfection by chef on hand! All in all a great hotel! Just across & around corner from the Royal Victoria stop on Docklands Light Railway. October 30, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Value for such a Prime Location I may be 'Old Fashioned' but when I check in to a Hotel, it is nice to be greeted by someone who has 'English' as their primary language. It is also nice to be served by people who have a good command of the English Language such that when you order food they get the order correct. I have been served by better English speaking people when I go abroad on my vacations #outside the EU#. The food selection was poor, overpriced and the quantities were insufficient. The bar in the evening had a 'Policy' of dimming the lights such that reading of the menu was challenging for those of us who wear glasses. This has to be the worst Crown Plaza I have ever stayed in. Loved the Nespresso coffee machine in the lounge and the breakfast menu was extensive and freshly cooked to order. The staff made us feel very welcome. Location is ideal - within easy reach of central London as there is a DLR station (Royal Victoria) across the road and you can take the Emirates Skyline for an interesting perspective over London. My overall experience was good and, almost certainly, the things that were not so good might've been fixed if I had warned the staff but I kept running in and out and basically thought about them when it was too late. There were no European outlets in the room, and my adaptor didn't seem to fit in the outlets, so I couldn't use hair curler. The outlets in the bathroom were really only for shavers and charging the phone and in the end I couldn't use the appliance. The eiderdown was too heavy and the A/C didn't seem to do much more than ventilation, so I slept badly every night. I have noticed that it's almost a must now in hotels, but the matress fluffly cover only makes it hotter at night. I cannot be sure but I think there were no safes in the rooms - it was okay, but I decided to carry my (small) valuables with me all the time. Still, the staff were so nice about everything that I am sure that I would've been assisted with all of the above and I will repeat if I ever have another meeting at the Excel centre. The new look is excellent. At the same time the staff remain committed to looking after their customers, the service is excellent and all of the staff are very friendly, cheerful and helpful. The room I had was comfortable, clean and of a good size, given the price paid. If I have cause to come back to this area, I will stay here again. The only issue was with the on-line booking not making it clear, which double rooms had a "river view". It seemed only clear in relation to the "suites", although it was claimed that some double rooms did have a river view. October 18, 2014
