Had to use hotel for one night as had an early business meeting the following day. Didn't have time to use all the facilities but staff very friendly and helpful and would be very happy to stay there again and recommend to others. Room very clean and bed comfortable with choice of firm or soft pillows. Used room service and meal came promptly and most importantly was hot. Buffet breakfast selection good. Not stayed in a Holiday Inn hotel before but would certainly do so again.

It was cold with the air conditioning in the room and the lobby and restaurant. The menu for my group Wine4trade was not good at all and expensive. Frozen dry cod... 2 pints of beer, too much and not good. Very poor

Exceptional. My first time using this location and was very impressed. Reception were very attentive and very friendly, as were all staff. Room was spot on, can't fault it and the meals were very nice too, couldn't have asked for more

I have pretty much stayed in all of the HI in London, and think that considering the room alone that this is easily the best offering. The room was so big there was an echo (no joke), it was at least twice the size of rooms in Bloomsbury and Regents Park. Very nicely furnished, nice bed, decent bathroom, great shower (would have been even better if the rainfall shower was working)
Where this hotel loses out is on neighborhood and staff. The location of this hotel is actually quite decent, very close to central london and stratford. however the neighborhood has definitely not caught up yet, and as a result issues like safety after dark and anti-social behavior come into play. (for example - staff had to call police after a group of youths decided to enter the hotel and play tag in the lobby and various floors!).
As for the staff, i feel they need more training to match the quality of the hotel. they are obviously local residents and should be able to offer more advice in terms of local restaurants and the like, stuff you would expect staff at a 4* hotel to provide. also - they should know how to treat (platinum) guests - and not be on the phone for 15 minutes when I am waiting at reception (to ask for my room to be cleaned!).

I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions now, the staff there are without exception outstanding, always couteous, using my name and checking that everything is ok for me throughout my stay. The immediate location of this hotel may not be the best but it has good transport links with the centre, the City and also City airport and is more than made up for by this new style Holiday Inn.
See you again soon!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Excellent Staff and Service
We stayed there for 4 Nights, full english breakfast included.
The standard guest room was as expected and well equipped with hair dryer, iron and bath amenities. We had free WLAN (sometimes the connection failed).
Staff was very friendly and always ready to help! Breakfast was a good start for the day.
Next Tubestop (Whitechapel) just a few minutes walk away.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Susie Sue23 Great hotel for weekend in London
This was a great hotel for us for a weekend in London. The room was spacious, comfortable and provided us with everything we might need. The staff were efficient and helpful. The location was a five minute walk from Shadwell station.
