Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Close to the airport Holiday Inn Airport is super close to the Long Beach Airport. Shuttle service is also available. It is located next to the Chevron Gas Station. Apple maps misguides you in a roundabout way. But there is an entrance to the parking lot northbound on Lakewood Blvd., right next to the gas station. If you are a Priority Club member, there are close parking spaces to honor your loyalty. The front desk staff is super friendly & helpful. I like that it is a hotel, as opposed to a motel. The room is not the most modern, but it is comfortable. I have a bad back, but their beds are super comfortable. No back aches. The spacing & furniture positioning seems basic & clever. Housekeeping does a great job to keep things clean. If you forget your toothbrush/paste or razor/shaving creme, those are available for free. I didn't need it, but this is good to know. The only cons with my room: no refrigerator. Some rooms have them, some don't. Ask for a room with one if it is important to you. The light in the bathroom flickered, then went out. I called the front office about it, a staff member was in my room fixing it within 10 minutes of my call. Overall it was a really positive experience. August 3, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for US The Holiday Inn was perfect for us. The hotel is close to the Stub Hub Center with easy freeway access. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The rooms clean and comfortable. My son enjoyed the fitness room and pool. Just know the room service closes at 9:30pm. We got back to our room about 9:30pm on Friday and Saturday. We planned ahead for Saturday knowing the closing time. We did have breakfast for room service and it was very good. August 2, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by To describe this as a hovel would be giving it too much credit How this can be permitted to be a part of the IHG chain is beyond me. I have stayed at most different property types in the chain across the world (and am a Platinum Elite member). This is by far and away the worst hotel from ant IHG or other group I have ever stayed in. Asked well ahead of time for the quieter side of the hotel, didn't get it, asked again after check in if it could be changed on my subsequent night, no interest from hotel staff to help. Room smelt like a cheap motel, air con was amazingly noisy and kept cutting in and out all night, even when put on "constant fan" mode, and did so loudly it woke me throughout the night, even with ear plugs in. Toilet kept leaking and reflushing all night. Freeway and airport noise constant. Had booked 5 nights, if it had arrived earlier on the first night I would have happily paid up the first night and left on the spot. Checked out first thing the next morning. Gave staff at check out a polite explanation of why I was checking out four nights early ... Absolutely ZERO interest from staff. July 19, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by TINY tower rooms. Rooms are clean, bathrooms are clean and cleaning personnel are very efficient. The hotel is very close to the airport; the food is just okay, but there is a diner across the street and convenience store out front of the hotel. This hotel is not walking distance to any nice restaurant, shopping center or downtown so you will need a vehicle to get anywhere. The executive tower rooms are super small and the bathroom is smaller than a closet!! Most of the staff is friendly with the exception of one gentleman at the front desk who "tried" to make us, the clients, feel second rate with a pompous attitude. The staff needs to be educated on the IHG Rewards Program; ignorance is NOT bliss with customer service, it is extremely insulting to the client. July 14, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Blown Surpise I paid for the Romantic Package. I checked in at the desk and inquired if everything was ready in the room. There was suppose to be a bottle of champagne, a box of chocolates and a bouquet of flowers. The chocolates were in a bag, the bouquet was good, but the bottle of champagne was missing. I had to call for the bottle. THis ruined the whole surprise. It was very, very diappointing. It took 45 minutes to get the bottle. June 16, 2013

Room was clean and comfortable, location was easy to find and very close to the airport. The shuttle van was clean and on time, drivers were friendly. I'll be staying here again. May 20, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Long Beach Airport The room and the hotel were clean, comfortable, and convenient. The bed was tightly made and had pillows in different firmnesses available, their housekeeping was far superior than another 4 star hotel where I stayed a week earlier. The staff was pleasant and efficient. The apple for the room was a nice touch for late arrivals. Room coffee was potable but not particularly good and there was some freeway noise. The room bill was conveniently under the door in the morning. March 16, 2013

The staff is always very friendly and the rooms are always in great condition despite being an older hotel. It also has a very good place to run outside, over to Signal Hill which is about 1 mile away and has great views of the area from the top of the hill. March 4, 2013

The location is excellent. The staff do an outstanding job. They know everything that I enjoy during my stay from the location of my room to what I would most likely order for breakfast. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay, Great Staff and Service We attended the Spa and Salon Conference and decided to stay near the airport to get away from the crowds. We found this location and remember the hotel when I was a student at Cal State Long Beach. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The staff was fantastic and helped us with directions. Breakfast was fast and fresh. Servers were busy, but very attentive. Dinner was a great surprise. Great food, outstanding view and pleasant staff that was eager to please. I didn't expect such a great wine selection or beverage choices, but was really happy with their menus. Housekeepers were smiling and it seemed like everyone we met enjoyed working at their hotel. Free parking was a plus and was very well lighted. We felt safe during our stay. Kudos for Holiday Inn! We will be back soon! January 30, 2013

Breakfast buffet was priced at $14.95, staying 7 nights, that gets very expensive for 2 people Didn't know about cost of breakfast until we checked in. --smoke alarm didn't appear to be working --no microwave in room --ragged carpet at bathroom doorway --no towel rack at sink December 17, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel--skip the restaurant. This is one of the classic SoCal round tower Inns. Very well maintained with a great staff.. Location is directly off the 405, minutes from downtown Long Beach. Now the bad news--even platinum members don't get a breakfast coupon. Only 10% discount. The top floor restaurant is more of a scenic dinner spot. Breakfast service was very slow plus I received the wrong order. When the right one arrived, it was overcooked and overpriced. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and Nice view I don't think this hotel has a bad view from any room. There were only a few negative things: 1. Didn't have assistantat the door to unload luggage from my car; 2. Parking for the club members was few and should be numbered/assigned so that other guests do not park there, esp. coming in late at night and not being able to find ANY parking; 3. Add more ice machine on all floors and drink machines on fewer floors; and lastly 4. While my California omelette and coffee were wonderful, the potatoes which stated in the menu were brown and crispy, were dry and soggy. The room was great and the staff was friendly, I had a great view from the upper floor and the location was perfect, especially for those wanting to be close to the airport or not too far from the night ife of Long Beach or Huntington Beach area.
