Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Mattresses this hotel is in a bad section of town where most of the business are boarded up. The hotel has been recently been refurbished but some areas are still lacking. Our hotel room was clean and newly refurbished but they forgot the mattresses! It was worse than terrible. They were really old. This hotel only has full size double bed rooms. Would totally not stay again. March 27, 2015

During a recent, extended stay at the HI Downtown Lynchburg, VA, my wife and I were overwhelmed by the kindness and hospitality of all the employees we encountered! From our new friend at the front desk who did everything she could to make our 3 1/2 week stay pleasant, to the host who greeted us with a "good-morning" and a smile in the restaurant each morning, the wait staff in the restaurant who were friendly, attentive, and thorough as they served our meals, the chef who created some delicious breakfasts, the doorman who always waved and asked us how we were, and housekeeping who took wonderful care of our room, even offering kind words of encouragement and hugs for the challenges we faced while in town for my wife's fathers passing...everyone was very personable and helpful, making us feel at home during our stay. There are not enough words to express our gratitude for everyone at HI Downtown Lynchburg! We will be back! March 19, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good stay I spent 6 nights there for a Liberty Univ. intensive and I enjoyed my stay at Holiday Inn. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was easy to find and offered free parking. The only thing I didn't like was there was no complimentary breakfast and the food was expensive and tasted pretty mediocre. Otherwise it was a good stay. March 11, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Steady & Dependable We are back again! We've probably stayed in this hotel more times than any other in the world. It is "a sure thing." Great staff. Clean, up-to-date rooms, bright, multi-area lobby. We did have a little trouble with the electronic parking routine this time -- but the staff was quick take away our worries and get us on the way. So often a hotel experience comes down to how good the staff is, and this staff is EXCELLENT. March 9, 2015
