My husband and I recently stayed for 4 nights at the Holiday Inn Madrid Piramides Hotel, which turned out to be a very good choice. We had a very nice, spacious and clean room with all the necessary amenities, including a mini bar and an electric water boiler. Good price-quality ratio, great location, right next to the metro station. The only inconvenient would be the thin walls, which sometimes made it difficult for us to rest at night. All in all it was a pleasant experience and we recommend the hotel!

I really enjoyed my visit to Spain and the staff here at the Holiday Inn in Paramides was extremely friendly and helpful. I also liked the location as it was right off the metro and renfre stations so getting around was very easy as well. I will stay here again if I am ever heading back that way :)

Dont expect to see Platinum upgrade here. Magnificent location! Direct metro line from and to airport. Nice walk to all Madrid amenities. Beautiful riverside park 300m from hotel.
Inside: little bit old and tired and doesn't seem so clean but it's clean. Due to old carpets and furniture it only seems dirty

As one that is travelling all the time and a member of few hotels chains I can say that - location of this hotel is THE most important value for me to choose plus grate staff. However all the rest is below expectation or Holiday Inn level that I used to (but not the price).
Hotel food is not up to the standard, no gym, and breakfast is really poor.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ALEXFLY very poor to be a new Holiday Inn
the reception staff very poor, not any interest about the customer, to be a IHG PLAT not any recognition, of course no UPG nor any drink amenity etc. The rooms are very old, I guess that was a hotel of another chain and Holiday take it a run as it was....need urgent UPG to a Holiday Inn standar. Just the good thing abd thats why I have chose this hotel, location step from metro and regional trains, conects you to the city, rail ways airport. etc

Hotel was ideally located on a direct train line from the airport and metro lines.
We could not believe on exiting the station the hotel entrance was directly in front of us.
Also very near to hop on hop off tourist bus.
Also some excellent local restaurants nearby.
Hotel itself was good clean, room good and staff very friendly.
Food in the bar was excellent and extremely good value.
My only complaint would be the cost of the buffet breakfast at 13.75 euros being rather excessive.
Would certainly stay here again

Upon arrival we were allocated a much more better room than the originally booked on line. Staff was friendly and efficient, clear and fast. I felt myself very special. ICH hotels really cares about clients I thought! We shall be back in May for another getaway and hope to find same quality and service.

Don´t expect much.
Very simple rooms. Practically no amenities. Lots of noise from neighbors. Ridiculously small TV.
My room was cold during the night but I saw from the outside some rooms with windows open in the middle of winter so, I guess some rooms were very hot.
Total lack of security. I entered hotel more than 1 am and no staff in reception. I went directly to room.
The best is the subway just opposite hotel and good walking area in new developed Puerta de Toledo.
Absolutely no recognition for my platinum membership but being tried the other Holiday Inn in Madrid seems to be the rule.

- Very quiet hotel (double glazed windows)
- The hotel has been partially renovated. Still rooms look dated
- Very slow wifi
- Decent breakfast but served in a gloomy room with no natural light
- Threadbare bathrobe

Hotel front door is right next to a joint Metro and Renfee stop. This Renfee line goes directly to the airport terminal four making connection to the airport very easy. Also only a couple stops directly to Atocha and high speed rail for day trips.
Bed is a standard hotel bed. Shower was great. Non-smoking room but could on occasion smell from other rooms. Room was quiet during stay. All staff were very helpful.
Would stay here again and do recommend.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MillsP Great location
Great location being at the entrance to the metroe and train station. Catching the train from T4 at teh airport, 30 minutes and less than 3 Euro later we arrived at the Piramides stop without changing, which is great when you have kids with you. Using the metro made life easy as did the train from the same station which connects with city centre, airport and Atoche station without any changes. Opposite the hotel is a nice bar serving good food and drinks at local cheap prices and worth a try. Breakfast buffet fine for kids. Family room with double bed and sofa bed also worked out fine. Definitley worth a try for a family weekend away and would use again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Travellingwithababy Conveniently close to the Metro
Not within the "center" Madrid where all the hustle and bustle are (Puerto del Sol) but the Metro is right at the doorstep. Helpful staff. However, since it was winter, air conditioning was turned off. The room was stuffy and hot so we had to open the windows at night to sleep.

This hotel is perhaps one of the true hidden gems of the various hotels in the city of Madrid. While it is out of the normal hustle and bustle of the center of the Madrid, you can quickly reach any spot in Madrid within a few minutes. The hotel is right above both the Metro and the urban train stations. Thus, you can take either form of transportation quickly back to the City center. If you wish, you can also take the bus however I have never tried it. I used the train to and from the Airport and it worked great. At 2.5 Euros each direction, it is both faster and far cheaper (~37 euros) for a taxi. It took about 35 minutes from the Airport (T4) station to the hotel lobby. If you need to use any of the other airport terminals, there is a free bus service within the airport.
I have stayed in Madrid for many business trips (>230 so far) and have basically lived in hotels for many months during various projects. The longest time was about 1 year. I think by now I know which hotels are the nicer hotels for those who need to have a quiet place. This Holiday Inn is a very nice clean hotel and the hotel staff is great. The room price is very competitive to the other hotels in Madrid but I feel you get a much better value for your money at this one. The hotel is in very good condition and you do not have many of the maintenance issues that other hotels in Madrid often have. When you wander around the hotel as I did, I did not see any maintenance issues that are so common these days. I was on the third floor right next to the traffic circle and with the double window systems they have installed, you never hear any traffic.
I would recommend the bar and the evening restaurant (I did not try to lunch in the hotel). While it seems a bit basic in the Restaurant menu, I would highly recommend the Shrimp with Pasta dish. It was always served very fresh and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. I should also mention the house red wine is not some typical cheap wine but rather, it actually had a very good flavor and the price was right. I became a fan of it quickly. The staff in the hotel bar were quick and friendly. They were bilingual and always seemed to be very happy to help people with picking the right drink. In terms of the bar drinks, the only downside they had was the lack of fresh whipped cream to make Café Irlandes (Irish Coffee) but I settled for another glass of the great wine.
I used the hotel laundry twice and it was very fast. While hotel laundry prices are often high, this hotel was competitive and the quality of the cleaning was good. I wish the hotel did have a coin operated laundry but in Europe, this is not a common service in the Holiday Inn hotels. In the Asian Holiday Inn’s, it is common. In the USA, normally only the Holiday Inn Express brand has them (about 90% of the time).
The only drawback to the Hotel is the WiFi network. While coverage in the hotel is good (I never found a place it did not work and this is not true in most hotels), the major problem is the Wifi security. As an IT security professional, it shocked me that the system (operated by Kubi Wireless) would be doing “man in the middle” attacks on the secure connections you wanted to visit. Any site you were visiting in a secure manner (using SSL), they were trying to intercept. The other issue is that Kubi wants to charge you more money for faster (normal speed) connections and it is pricey. I am not sure the Hotel is actually aware of these issues.
Would I recommend the hotel to others? Yes.
I will be back in the hotel soon (but I will bring my own WiFi network). I would highly recommend Holiday Inn (and other IHG brands) as an excellent hotel brand to use and the only suggestion is to read the rewards of each hotel (of any brand) before you reserve your room stay. Again, this is really a nice hotel.

Booked for one night. Room was a good size, lovely and light and clean. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom large, clean and fully equipped. Always appreciate being able to make a drink in the room. Was great to be able to get out of the train with luggage and be at the hotel straight away! Thanks - will stay again.

The hotel is central to many attractions such as the Royal Palace and the Prado Museum. It's a two minute walk from the best city park in the world: Parque Arganzuela. A perfect place to walk run and exercise.
The hotel breakfast was decent. The restaurants to eat around the hotel are phenomenal.
All in all if you are going to Madrid and are looking for the best place to stay for a great price the Holiday Inn Piramides is a must try.

The hotel is out of the city centre, but just on top of the metro, you can reach the city centre in minutes.
Hotel is quite fine, staff are kind and helpful, but the room really need a renovation.
The hotel does not have a proprietary internet line and connectio n but relies on a commercial wi fi sercive, and it does not work very well at all. Bandwidth is VERY limited.

Just had a fabulous few days in madrid staying at the Piramides Holiday Inn. Very easy to find location as the renfe train line from the airport stops right outside there is also a metro here. A few minutes walk from Atocha station perhaps only to be attempted with hand luggage. The staff were all very helpful, breakfast was adequate. Room facilities good.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MandStravellers A great place to stay
This hotel is perfectly positioned.
RENFE goes straight from airport to Piramides station which is literally in front of the hotel and was 2.50 euro each. (As of Sept 2013) There is an office along the corridor end on the right where you buy tickets just before going down the escalators to the platform, try to have smaller money than 50 euro like us, the ticket seller was slightly not amused. The Renfe platform is the 2nd one along, the 1st is the metro, just ask.
Metro and buses right there in front of hotel.
The bus was easy to use 1.50 euro per ticket, pay the driver. The driver will let you know where your stop is if you need help.
We walked into the city and sights.
Supermarkets 10 minute walk.
Lots of Cafes/restaurants nearby.
A hop on hop off bus stop is at Toledo square, about 15 minutes walk.
The hotel rooms are typical Holiday Inn. Staff friendly and helpful. The room was really quiet. The bar area and reception comfortable.
We only had one breakfast on a Saturday...2 for 1 deals on weekends. Quite good breakfast.
We would stay there again if we are back in Madrid.
Only downside....the hotel wifi prevented emails being sent or received from our iPad. We found an alternative free wifi at Toledo square so were able to email from there.

First time to Spain. We are two mature couples. We stayed two nights. Our experience was overall wonderful. The hotel is well kept and staff were very helpful. Our room was a bit warm as the air conditioning was weak. This was not the case for the other couple. Besides that issue. this hotel was reasonably priced with a great location. I would go back without hesitation.

Good average hotel. Price OK. If you happen to be traveling with a handicap individual the metro in front of the hotel has an elevator and gets you to the metro and commuter rail system. The number five line gets you to HC accessible stations down town. Bus stop - at the hotel has several HC friendly lines going to down town tourist sites. Rooms are not accessible by us standards but close.
