Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MoretonBlue Excellent value one-night stay
We chose Holiday Inn Maidenhead as it was convenient for a function we were attending nearby. We booked well in advance and obtained an excellent B & B rate for our one-night stay. The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient; our room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast in the morning was a well-presented buffet with a wide choice.
For just one night we couldn't have wanted more.

Overall very impressed by cleanliness of room, quality of bedding, options of firm and soft pillows and staff. Room service unfortunately ruined me giving this a raving review. Got order wrong twice and food cold by the time it reached me. Side order arrived after I had eaten the main. Asked for more sauces as had used my sachets on first order before I realised that it was incorrect and only brought when finished meal. Was over 1.5 hrs by the time the correct order came.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Emily99 Fabulous hotel - perfect for a Legoland stopover!
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Maidenhead/Windsor as a family of four, including a one year old, during a two-day visit to Legoland Windsor. The room was spacious and the interior of the whole hotel seemed to be in excellent condition. The breakfast was excellent - buffet-style with choice of fruit juices, lots of cereals, fruit and yoghurt, pastries and a full English too. The staff were fab, all so friendly. It's also in a great location - perfect for Legoland - with a petrol station right next door (perfect for families especially who need to quickly pick up late-night supplies!) and is a short drive from Maidenhead town centre with lots of pubs and restaurants nearby if you want to eat out locally. Great hotel - would definitely recommend it, especially if you're off to Legoland. And do stay for breakfast!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by lingy76 Great hotel, but restaurant staff could be more attentive
Hotel was great. Reception staff were very attentive and helpful.
Loads of seating in the bar/lounge area. Room was quite (we were at the end of the corridor), and the tea and coffee supplies were always more than was needed.
We did find however, that the evening staff in the Junction Restaurant were not the best. When we went to eat, we were asked if we had booked (which we hadn't#. We were then seated and shown to our table, and told someone would be over shortly to take our order. 20 minutes later, no-one had come over, #not even for drinks), so we had to get one of the waitress' attention so we could then order drinks and food. The food then came promptly. It was just a shame they were not as prompt as serving us.
The hotel is situated very conveniently for visiting LEGOLAND and Windsor Castle and we would stay again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by froggy13 Big lies and Co
Fortunately we only spent one night in this inhospitable hotel where the staff keeps telling you lies about everything : how they can't upgrade you, how you can't have dinner at the restaurant because all the tables are booked ( in fact they were setting the tables for the following morning at 8 PM !) although you have a dinner inclusive rate, no hot chocolate the following morning ...
Then you have to sign a bill not taking the prepaid amount into account and the waiter sends you the manager on duty to explain to you that signing a bill is only a formality.
Not to mention the poor quality of the food .
Definitely a place to avoid if you want to wind up.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by traveladam Friendly, helpful staff, good hotel
The location is ok, just a bit out of Maidenhead centre, but it's great if you want to walk 20 minutes into the city centre. 10 minutes walk to the train. I walked each way every day and enjoyed the walk.
The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The Indian Buffet was ok, not great, but the effort put forth was commendable and the staff at the restaurant very kind and attentive. Breakfast was good, the pancake machine is very cool! The pool looked nice and next time I will try it out.
Overall a lovely stay and I will stay there again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dawhite66 Poor front desk service
Being asked to pay £30 for WiFi at the start of my stay when every other hotel gives it for free (even having a HI privilege card) didn't get my stay off to the best start and I found the front of desk staff very poor, unhelpful and when I asked to check my bill before paying I had a withering condescending look. They smiled but never meant it and although clean rooms they were small and no real personal touch and just felt like you were being processed for money. I travel a lot in hotels around the Reading area but I won't be making a return stay to this hotel I am afraid.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jacqui28 A warm, family friendly hotel, going the extra mile!
This was our first experience of staying at the Holiday Inn Maidenhead. We chose it because of its proximity to Legoland and we were not disappointed in the least.
All the staff, especially the gentleman Restaurant Manager who served us on Friday night (Paul?), the Reception team and waiting team, were particularly helpful and keen to enhance our experience at every opportunity, despite being very busy.
Two children in our party were celebrating their birthdays and the staff went above and beyond our expectations in making it a memorable occasion.
We were also very impressed with the regular, bar and Table d'hote menus. The children's buffet went down a treat as did the fact that they dined free of charge!
The children's little play area, located in the bar / lounge area was a real bonus because it allowed the children to have fun whilst the adults had a proper conversation. Free milk and cookies were also available in the reception area for children.
The only disappointment was the price of wifi. All hotels I've ever stayed in (in the U.K. and abroad) offer wifi as a free service and I feel quite strongly that guests should not have to pay for this.
Having said this, however, an ALMIGHT THANK YOU to all the staff, including Reception, Restaurant & Housekeeping, for a wonderful stay.
We look forward to returning at some point in the future and have already recommend you to our family friends.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by palmtree01 Disorganised
A lot wrong with the way this hotel is managed. Examples:
Waiting for a coffee at the bar - 1 person serving, the other ignoring me and instead, wiping up.
Hotel Room - Pillows, 2 too low, 3 too high.
Lights - Switch by the door turns on lobby and 1 bedside table. I turn that off, the bedside table goes out. I turn back on, and change the switch on the bedside, all lights go out.
Breakfast - Huge queue. Coffee cold
Check-out - Everyone who was at breakfast is now in the checkout queue. 1 person serving.
WiFi - not free. £10 for 4 hours
Seems like in an effort to maximise profit they cut staff, charge where they can and cut maintenance.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by nomorefamilyweddingspleas Really nice hotel, good leisure facilities breakfast poor
Came to the hotel in a bad mood as I was attending a wedding I did not want to attend (no, not my own) but as it's family you do as you are told, plus we did not have a good excuse planned as invitation came out of the blue, however, when we arrived a quick dip in the pool and a quick go on an exercise bike and I felt a bit better. It was late so the pool was empty. Into the pool and I realised that we had stayed here before about 6 years ago.
The hotel was clean and quiet, no ignorant guests making a noise.
I was disappointed by the breakfast because, as a vegetation many other companies offer veggy sausages at breakfast, HI did not. My son did not like his cooked breakfast as the bacon was not smokey. (I know expensive tastes) Also, breakfast was terribly understaffed, tables were not cleared quickly enough and the maitre d' did not seem to be very organised, sort of headless chicken, very poor.
Why the funny shaped pool? can never understand this. No shower near the pool so had to climb up stairs from the changing room with wet feet not very safe. Despite an awful wedding the hotel was good, but get your breakfast elsewhere.

I would just like to say that I thought the hotel, its staff and food were all excellent.
A particular high point for us, as a family, was the playroom for the children situated in the bar area. We had a 6 year old and a 3 year old with us, we were able to sit outside the playroom having a meal and some drinks and still keep an eye on the children. A real bonus we all thought.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MBJ29 Perfect for our stay, defiantly be back.
Our first stay at a Holiday Inn and we will be defiantly be back again. Perfect location for our visit to Legoland and Windsor Castle. The room and Hotel was spotlessly clean, staff were welcoming and friendly. We used the pool twice which was greatly appreciated by our two young children. Having the play room was great for our children whilst we sat in the evening for a drink. Only one slight issue for us was that the restaurant didn’t start serving evening meals until 19:00.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by EaglElla Not always very quick but very friendly staff
I had a great time at this Holiday Inn. Staff was not always the fastest in making starbucks quality coffee but overall very friendly. The breakfast is quite decent and you can save 5 pounds by getting a voucher for it the night before if it's not included.
One thing I was not happy about was the fact that you couldn't get online ANYWHERE in the hotel. First I thought, ok, you pay for access in your room but it will be free wifi in the lobby. There wasn't. There were two computers there so I thought at least there you can get online for free. Nope! I am not used that and I think it's not really up to date anymore not to offer any form of free wifi - even if it's just for 15 or 30 min anywhere in the hotel...

Stayed overnight as part of a two day LEGOLAND package. The hotel was everything we needed. Excellent location for children with an indoor play area and free cookies and milk. Grandson had the run of the place.
Drinks a little expensive in the bar but as a one off you don't mind if everything else is ok.
Enjoyable stay, good facilities and would not think twice about returning. Indeed, since our return, friends have booked the same package on our recommendation

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dave1977 Very poor restaurant and experience
I was very disappointed with my family's experience of this Holiday Inn. First the hotel had not taken payment of the room and blamed my debit card - my card was absolutely fine and I stay in hotels regularly each week no problem.
We had an all inclusive deal, but the restaurant failed to record this and then explained there were terms and conditions associated with the meal - which was a maximum of £18 per person, not three course as stated. It was a negotiation to get the deal even though we had paid and took 30 minutes plus. Also the service was very slow and the children had completed eating before we had been served our starter, making it a difficult experience. The staff also provided dirty towels, the tv remote didn't work properly - no back. They also tried to charge me for a morning newspaper without informing me in advance. We were offered coffee in the morning buffet, which didn't arrive also.
My overall impression of the restaurant and reception staff was preoccupied and slightly apathetic when I highlighted problems arising. Holiday Inn, quite frankly this was a poor experience - I will never stay with you again I'm afraid.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by AlanB42 Visit spoilt by avoidable issues
The hotel is in a good location and there is ample / easy parking. The exterior is a bit dated and lacks a wow factor by the interior of the hotel is modern / impressive and mostly kept to a good standard. The general staff were helpful and friendly / checking in was prompt and efficient. There was no acknowledgment of being a rewards member and for our membership level when we checked the internet access was chargeable. There were four of us (2 double rooms). The rooms were fine with good facilities although in one there was signs of mould / water damage on the ceiling in one (we did not raise this). The big issue was the buffet dinner included in our pre-booked package. The choice of food was poor and the service was cluttered / nothing was labelled. We were shown to a table and no drinks order was taken + one of the places was not laid. We advised the member of staff who had shown us to the table… Time passed and they proceeded to seat another table and take drinks orders from them. We approached them again to be told …”I am not the only person working tonight” Basically poor service, average food badly laid out and a poor food choice – very disappointing. The bar service was good although we did hear one staff member telling another … “a guy just rang room service and asked what food we can do - does he think I have time to read the menu out to him”
The breakfast service was very busy as well – and totally different. Well managed , good choice of food – very friendly and helpful staff – This was all served in the same room / from the same buffet cart – shows what a difference a good and attentive manager makes.
Checkout brought another problem – we were overcharged twice – firstly due to an incorrect room supplement but when this was sorted the price still exceeded what we had booked on line – It took some time to sort this our but luckily we had a hard copy of the online booking – not sure why it was so difficult to get things right as everything was done online.
Basically the visit was spoilt by silly avoidable issues that prevented you from really relaxing – which is a shame because the hotel is a nice venue and many of the staff are ok / professional.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Kiri260180 Friendly staff, unfortunately the room was not up to par
Very friendly staff, excellent facilities. Unfortunately the room was not up to the standard that I had expected. Air conditioning did not work, was very hot so had to open windows which were not much use as they only open up a crack and you do get the hum noise of the M4. I went to the front desk to ask for assistance but the offer was to send a manager up to take a look at it, but as our little one had just got off to sleep this was not practical, also if he looked at it and it wasn't working the offer probably would have been to change rooms, again not possible as little one had gone to sleep, so we decided against any further action. Only one robe provided when there should have been two and the fan in the bathroom did not work, which meant had to put makeup on in the dimly lit room rather than the bathroom as the mirror was all foggy with condensation. Couldn't open the mini fridge at all. All of that being said the bed was comfortable.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Blondie10 Brilliant hotel for young children
We stayed here with our two grandchildren of 3 & 2. They had such great fun. the only issue was the speed of service in the restaurant but apart from that the kids had a ball. The food is free in the restaurant for all children and they loved it. It was so nice to be able to relax in the bar with a drink while the kids had a play area with some good toys in it. The receptionist gave the children toy money that they could use at the bar for a free drink the 3 year old thought this was fantastic. We stayed here as we where off to Legoland the next day and it was great as it only took us 15min to get there.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Morro Could be a great hotel but...
Considering how many IHG hotels I ave stayed in, on business over the years, my general overview of this hotel is it is becoming dated and needs 'freshening up' e.g. decorating in the public areas
The worst part, being a business traveller who wants to grab a quick breakfast, is the whole breakfast experience where you can see queues somedays 20 deep just to be seated.
The process of checking names and room numbers take an extraordainary amount of time #that I have never seen at any other hotel# so if they persist with this they need at least 3 more people on duty. The tables are slow to be cleared away #again, short staffed?# and finally they need a new dishwasher, as the number of plates you have to check through to find one without dried on food stuck to them is amazing #avearge I put aside 3 bowls each day before I find an acceptable one and I am not that fussy !#.
Due to the location of the hotel, I currently have no choice to move
