Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Mixed Stay Stayed at this hotel due to it being close to an event being attended nearby. Stayed as a group and had 3 rooms. Overall I found the experience to be very disappointing. We went through 7 rooms between us before we found 3 that were acceptable. We had been checked in to rooms that hadn't even been cleaned yet! Even when we finally got a room, the heating did not work, we were then given a small heater that did not generate much heat to say the least. We did eat in the restaurant and the food was lovely. The restaurant and receptionist staff were very welcoming to us and this was the hotels saving grace. January 4, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good stay Spacious and clean room, but main air-con/heating did not seem to be working so had to use small electric bar heater in far corner of room. Bed reasonable but not the most comfortable mattress. Expensive stay due to time of year and events on in Manchester. Free parking a bonus, bus stop very close to hotel for short journey into Manchester, and easily got taxi back afterwards. Reception staff friendly and efficient. December 26, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Needs updating This was a reward night so thankfully we didnt pay, apart from hard earned points. Fan in bathroom very noisy, if you switched the light on carried on for ages this together with the noise from the heating made for a very uneasy night...We would have telephoned to request a change of pillows if the phone had worked! Generouslly supplied with 2 teabags... Carpets, beds, quilts ,pillows all need to be updated. As IHG members it was very disappointing. We would not stay here again. December 17, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The hotel staff made the difference The staff were the highlight of this particular hotel stay. I found the room I stayed in (an executive suite) to be a little worn down, not dirty or unkempt...just worn. The vinyl covering on the furnishings (especially the couch) was peeling up in many areas...it is a major detractor from the room quality and appearance. Its about a 5-8 pound cab ride into city centre, which isn't too bad. There are however little to no dining options within close proximity/walking distance. If you want to eat - its either the hotel restaurant or hopping in the car for a drive. The staff were wonderful, polite, warm, and very helpful..the human touch made difference in my stay. Nothing beats having staff treating you as a welcome guest when you are so far from home. Overall there is room for improvement, but the building blocks of having a well staffed property are firmly in place. December 11, 2014
