Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Value Although this appeared to be an older hotel and the outside could use updating, the inside was very clean with comfortable common areas and rooms. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best I've had, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The close proximity to the interstate makes it the perfect hotel for a brief stay in Marietta, a truly charming town. July 1, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall impression While the staff, especially the restaurant staff are very friendly and courteous, this hotel property is in extreme need of a complete makeover. I have been staying at this location since 1999 and it was in need of remodeling then, and that observation hasn't changed. From the out of date air conditioner, to the poor tv reception, and the cramped area created by a stand alone clothing cabinet, this property really needs to address everything from top to bottom. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Final trial stay We are native of SE Ohio but now live in Texas; we return for visits from 2 to 4 times each year, and in the past have almost always stayed at this Holiday Inn. For some stays I have used my HI Priority Club points for Award Nights, but not this last stay. We stay at many Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Expresses around the country in our travels, and have concluded that it seems that it about time that Marietta do more than try to upgrade this Holiday Inn, but instead should probably construct a new Holiday Inn Express for the Marietta area and sell the current facility to a firms to provide motel rooms for the large numbers of traveling workers in the area. We will likely not stay at this Holiday Inn in the future, but would look forward to staying in a new Holiday Inn Express in Marietta if it were built. June 27, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet room Stayed here for years. Room very quiet but the bed was too soft. Ants in room, especially bathroom. Lots of golf teams visiting and a motorcycle group made for drinking liquor in the hallways and parking lot. Sunday morning we saw the trash can outside the lobby in the parking lot, overflowing with beer cans which meant public drinking in view of staff. Glad that we did not have young kids with us. While we are not prudes, public drinking is not something we want to see. June 24, 2014

I was planning on staying there for much longer but shortened my stay by 3 weeks because I was not satisfied with my room. The air conditioner was either too cold or wouldn't work. I mentioned it to the desk and someone came and fixed it while I was at work. However, they left hand prints on the walls that stayed for over a week (until I left) even though the room was cleaned in between. There was also dust around the air conditioner - probably from being cleaned (fixed). I was on the lower level by the pool. Guests played the corn hole game outside my window until 10 pm. I needed sleep that night and couldn't sleep because of all of the noise. The staff were somewhat friendly but I used the dining room a few times and found some staff very hard to get to be friendly. Once I got them going they were more friendly but until I made several attempts I felt like I was imposing on them and they didn't have any desire to serve me. Other guests seemed very happy but it was too loud and messy for me. The business center was smaller than most closets. June 17, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not tonight, Not here. Old property, dirty hallways and elevator. Poor lighting in rooms, Elevator is slow and DIRTY. The front entry is rough and needs repaving. The staff seems young and somewhat inexperienced. The hallways are always full of newspapers and empty food trays and drink containers. The swimming pool is large and clean. June 17, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Convenient and Clean Even though this is an older Holiday Inn, it was clean and seemed updated. Rooms are a bit smaller than some other rooms I have been in (Noting the smaller wardrobe). Breakfast was not available until 6:30am. Other HI’s I have been to start at 6:00am. The 6:30am start time prevented me from grabbing breakfast before work 2 of my 3 mornings. Coffee was not available 24/7 as with other HI’s as well. Overall, I had a good experience. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Checkout We wanted to depart Marietta at 5:30 A.M. to avoid as much traffic around Akron/Cleveland to connect with 80/90 and get home by 1:00 which is our usual practice. We waited in the lobby for over 20 minutes - no one at the desk - just a sign saying 'be right back'. Due to computer problems and printer problems the manager had difficulty in printing the statements and getting them delivered. Not his problem, if a system issue Holiday Inn needs to address their systems. We finally did get on the road by 6 AM and did not have any delays. But not good to have an empty lobby. Anyone could have come in and wandered around. June 4, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent deal for the location/ Price Rooms - Clean The layout it is a bit convoluted. Good if you like walking 3 football fields from front desk. Only real negative. At the front desk I was given the key to a room. As I was walking to the "assigned" room, a guy in front of my walked to the same room and let himself in. In Marietta, Oh during Memorial Day weekend this could have ended badly as there were plenty of bikers and partiers checked in. Double checking folks into rooms is a pet peeve of mine and occurs way more than it should in my travels. June 1, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Marietta was OK Nicely located fro my business trip. Located close to the border of West Virginia. It was ideal for by Business trip to W.V. Nothing fancy, had some construction in the lobby ares, not too unsightly. Breakfast was OK. Staff can be a bit abrupt, I expect genuine smile and conversation when check in. Room was clean and comfortable, had a king size bed and a pull out sofa bed if required. May 25, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Room Smelled The room smelled like feet. Something sticky on the TV stand and door lock. Staff had an "I'm doing you a favor" attitude. At checkout I was informed that their printer was down and they couldn't give me a receipt. I asked the clerk if she would email the receipt. Considering my experience so far, I asked if she would send it now. She said "Now? I'm fixing the printer!" Glad I waited for the email. I knew she would have forgotten. May 4, 2014

There was no closet in the room. According to desk, a wardrobe will be added. Aside from the restaurant, I wonder what all HI's offer over HIE's. April 30, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by A Cheap Stay But is it Worth It March 24, 2014 -The restaurant was under remodel for the third day of a two week stint. The lobby was filthy and it carried down the halls to the rooms. The first floor rooms had no closets or a place to hang clothes. My bathroom mirror lights(a set of 4) did not work and the overhead light flashed and blinked. The check in girl rattled off the introduction speel like a phonograph so she could get back to reading her book. The site is an old dilapidated has been. The remodel was to attract the multitudes of oil roughnecks for happy hour crowding all the hotels in the area with their muddy boots and foul language. Not a pleasant stay and moved to a newer hotel after the first night of three. March 28, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Experience The entire hotel smelt of paint. The rooms were assigned next to renovated or under construction rooms. The paint smell permeated throught the room. Bathtub fixture and drainage was subpar. Heating system and controls were terrible. March 26, 2014
