Not worth the price for the room. Staff nice. Location good.
Had to request a clean bottom sheet because one bed was not clean. Had to change the sheet myself. Room was small. Carpet looked like it could be cleaned. Breakfast not included, you get a three dollar coupon off on their limited menu. I will only stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hotels from now on. You also can't rely on the reviews for cleanliness, some people don't mind musty odors, and clean sheets.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kala All-around GREAT property
We traveled 600 miles to visit family and friends for the Fourth of July weekend and we couldn't have been more happy with our stay! Rhana & Lauren did a great job at check-in, the hotel lobby & restaurant was beautiful & the room itself was clean and furnished well. The hotel was bustling due to a wedding and the holiday; however the atmosphere was calm & no employee was too busy to smile & say hello. Thank you for another fantastic stay!

This hotel experience was like no other Holiday Inn that I have ever stayed at. Room was dingy. Our room was next to a storage room, laundry shute and vending area. When we returned to our room after eating out there was a loud constant noise that woudl not go away. We thought it was the AC or the vending machine. I contacted the front desk; they were supposed to come up and check. It continued for about an hour and I called again. They said they would send someone up...no one came to look or report. The noise stopped for about 1/2 hour; It started again and I could not sleep . I just dozed most of the night as did my daughter and grand daughter. Poor Service....they should have offered us another room as I feel that noise NEVER goes away.
When we ate breakfast the table sides were very sticky. The waitresses were not very responsive and knew we were in a hurry as My grandaughter had an appointment at NMU.
We booked stays at all Holiday Inns on this trip...won't be staying at the one in Marquette ever again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by bigbunny good value and location
this is an older, remodeled hotel. The location is great, lots of restaurants and downtown location. The bar and restaurant are excellent. Only so much room in the small bathroom and can hear traffic noise because the highway is so close. The staff works hard to accommodate you.

We were on a 4000+ mile motorcycle trip when we blew the primary bearing and had to stop in Marquette across from a Harley Davidson shop. We called Road America and arranged to stay at the Holiday Inn across the street. As luck would have it, this was the highlight of our day. The staff, amenities, rooms and food were above our expectations. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone ending up in Marquette, Michigan for the night. Tripple A service on a budget pocketbook.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by racrinmuncie Wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Marquette
We have stayed at many hotels. Some 5 star and some mom and pop places. I have to say by far this was the most pleasant experience we have every had at a hotel. Everyone greeted us in the hallways and smiled. The pool and hot tub were clean with plenty of towels. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to serve us, and were the most friendly and efficient people we have ever dealt with. The grounds were beautiful with flowers and grass, and very well kept. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Marquette Michigan. If you could please pass this message along to the staff, we would be very grateful.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by intermittentinternet1 I won't be back if I can help it
The internet service was impossible to trust. About half of all my emails did not go out or come in using your service. There was no notice of interrupted service. That is an important part of my need when I stay at a Priority Club location.
Choice Privileges also has locations in Marquette area. My work crews and I will have to try the Comfort Suites of Econo Lodge Lakeside next time. Proper internet service is a must.
The Larsons (owners) should make this correction a priority.
Also, you might try and put any Priority Club Gold Member in a better location next time. Fifth floor at the far west end of the hotel is definitely not a preferred spot.

Thank you all for a great weekend stay in Marquette. Everyone was so courteous and friendly. I must point out, in particuliar, the restaurant staff and the Bar and Chef.
Dan and Will especially made us feel welcome. Our best weekend meal occured at the hotel. We had a great Whitefish dinner prepared by the chef. Do not leave without eating in the restaurant!!!
Thank you all for a great stay. Good people with a great attitude do and always make the difference!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by PSO5H240 OK until band started playing
We were there for our son's college gradudation. Prices were jacked up because of room demand. Stay was ok until band started playing in the lounge on Sat. night. Our room was close to the lounge and the band was loud. They finally quit about 12:30. We were not happy.

Business had me stay here a little longer then anticipated and the Staff here accommodated me in every way. The food was good, lots to choose from on the menu, or you can order in from local resteraunts. The lounge had a LIVE band one of the nights that ROCKED! You honestly don't have to leave the hotel...WiFi signal speed was excellent. All the amenities you need are in this hotel. This is where I stay when I come to Marquette.

I have been coming to this hotel for 6 years. Always had great and friendly staff. This past visit had a wonderful surprise......the building had been redecorated. The carpet, walls and artwork are a beautiful change. As usual, the staff was great, from check in to the restaurant to the cleaning staff. Great job again!

The hotel needs a complete renovation. Decor and layout from the 70's/80's. Not up to speed with Holiday Inn Express or other IHG hotels.
When confirming my reservation, I was abruptly told that I would not receive reward points for my stay due to fact that I was part of a larger group attending a hockey tournament. Not what you want to say to a Platinum member and/or a Priority Club Credit Card member. I wasn't asking for anything just confirmation that my Priority Club number was correct.
After visiting the front desk a few times, it was obvious the Holiday Inn front desk representatives were mostly local college kids with little knowledge of the area or how to make sure a Platinum guest was to be treated.
I've had very good experiences with IHG hotels and resorts in past. This was not a good experience.

We had some friends come to town and enjoyed the bar and resturant so we decided to stay the night. The front desk clerk was great. We stayed and it was a great time with our friends and with the friendly staff. Our bartender was great. We look forward to staying again and will make this a regular stop.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Katie47 Very accomodating and comfortable stay
We checked in last minute after cancelling the reservation earlier. The front desk was friendly as usual. A cot was brought to our room promptly with no extra charge. The breckfast was wonderful and a late check-out was very much appreciated! As far as I am concerned, the Holiday Inn of Marquette is the best hotel around!! Thank you for being so hospitable!

Excellent number of plugs for electronic gadgets
Only half of jets in hot tub worked
Microwave in room did not work
Serving dinner in bar because dining room was under renovation with a band playing and private party was very uncomfortable
The room was excellent; great pillows, bed, and layout of the room
Security door was not working, could open without key
Pool area was clean and plenty of towels
Reception desk and area was well maintained
All reception workers were friendly and efficient. They exceeded our expectations and provided the type of room we needed. Excellent service by far over other hotels we have stayed with.

The room was clean but cold. It took several hours for the room to warm up after we turned the heater on. They must keep the heat turned down in the rooms to save on heating costs. Ask to to have the room heated when you make your reservation.
The front entrance does not have automatic doors, so don't load up your arms and expect to walk right in. The doors open out, and there are two sets. The desk attendant did not offer to help open the doors, she just agreed that they are a pain.

After traveling through Gaylord, we were desperate for a pet friendly hotel. HIE Marquette was available and we jumped on it. We were totally suprised and comforted by our welcome to Marquette. From the Front Desk staff, to the comfort and cleanliness of the room, we breathed a huge sigh of relief and rested comfortably.
Lest this review sound too perfect, please note that the room was noisy. To the point where we had to place a call to the from desk (it was 11:30pm). The party in the room next to us moved to another location quickly!
Overall, we would recommend this hotel for ANY weary traveler!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JWTJ Old, noisy. Lots of better places to stay in Marquette
1.) Called down to ask a food question. When food was ordered, learned I was given the wrong information.
2.) VERY NOISY - First floor room, lots of hallway noise, equipment and elevators running, hear all conversations in adjoining rooms.
3.) Breakfast is not convenient. Have to go to a restaurant and give a coupon to order 1 of 3 choices. Should have a complementary buffet.
4.) HVAC was hard to control. Too hot then too cold. Noisy-on/off all night.
5.) Someone brought a large DOG into the restaurant!!!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Kirkmandu Older property with small rooms and no effective desk to work at.
Choices in hotels is somewhat limited in the Marquette area. I stayed at this Hoiday Inn since it was the only option in the area at the time. I would not choose to stay at this property again.
The room space was very cramped. There was no desk. It only had a tall round table with low stufffed chairs next to it. The only place to use a laptop was sitting on the bed. I depend on having a work space in my rooms so this property is off my list.
Plumbing fixtures were in poor condition.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Tomar405 Average - dated hotel/rooms.
Few unused electrical outlets for visitor use - heavy steel (non ADA) fire doors to traverse through in order to get to your room, The rooms, hallways all are dated. Hotel facade desperately needs a face lift and rooms need a remodel - the restaurant and bar are nice with decent menu (though the bar tender was a little "snarky" on my visit). Space for a refrigerator in entertainment center but no refrigerator... No morning paper, no bottled water or room upgrade for Priority Club member.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by tyler don't expect to order food anywhere near 10pm
I caught the late flight in like a number of guest checking in and I asked the front desk staff around 9:45 if I was still able to order food. The kitchen closed at 10pm so they said yes. I asked them if they were sure because I know some places close their kitchens earlier than the stated time. The two women at the desk were very nice and said why don't go to the bar and order before checking in to make sure I got something to eat and I did. I stood for 5 min. while the bartender walked by me numerous times and finally asked if I needed anything. I wanted to see the menu and he said the kitchen was closed. I was tired and hungry (had been on planes since 2pm) and now upset. I went to check in and also let the ladies know they wouldn't serve me (now it's 9:55 which they confirmed on their phones). They did call the kitchen on my behalf to allow me to order but the kitchen manager I believe said that maybe she could try and put something limited together if I'd like. I know what spiteful cooks do (I worked in restaurants for 9 years) so I declined and had to go out in the rain and drive the town to look for food. This place has done this to me a few times in the past. If the sign says 'til 10pm, there should be a full menu until then.

We stayed here one night and found the accommodations comfortable; the restaurant was excellent for breakfast and there is a nice indoor swimming pool. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Only drawback was that US Today doesn't arrive until late morning (after we checked out). The hotel is undergoing renovations, but we found it in very nice condition at the present time.
