There will be occasions throughout the year that we will visit but all of us cannot fit in one house. So we plan to frequent this hotel in the next five years! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We had four rooms and very happy with our stay. Four couples went to Charles Town to play golf (the guys) and shop (the girls). We also went to the casino for games, horse races and the great buffet during the races. The Express gave us a great nights sleep, very good breakfast and a good value for the money. Your desk clerk, Samantha, was very pleasant and helpful. She told about Shepherdstown which turned out to be a great place to spend a day. Staff in the breakfast area was on the ball. Only one problem, could not figure how to get to the hotel from casino, due to road closed , would have been nice if someone had thought to place a detour sign to the hotel, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area. The front desk, who had only worked there for a month, she was first rate, and extremely polite and helpful. The breakfast bar was a huge plus - great variety and the sweet hostess kept everything very well stocked, even with several school groups in house. The negatives are few - the main one being that the pool was not open for the season and we were very disappointed that we didn't know this at booking time - this alone would have sent us to another hotel. You should consider opening the pool as soon as possible in the year. We also had a negative interaction with an evening staff member who ran us out of the breakfast room while we were quietly working on a project that required a large table- and was quite rude about it. There was no reason for our not being allowed to stay there and work on a project. May 13, 2014

This trip we were greeted by a friendly lady at the desk who made us feel welcome. The room was clean with no issues. The breakfast was the norm but it got us on the way that morning as planned. The housekeepers even cleaned our room after we took a midday nap as they had not gotten to it earlier...that was above and beyond in my book! The young lady who checked us in was very good and efficient as well as friendly. The gentlemen on the following shifts however, were apparently too overworked as they never even lifted their heads as we entered or exited the hotel. This, as my training has taught me, could possibly harm them in the future, as not only is it not a nice gesture, but it also shows "bad" people that you have noticed them and are paying attention to who comes and goes! Just saying...you see it all the time in retail...I was a police officer..it helps to stay safe...but being nice looks good too! April 16, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel always coming back here! We visit the casino a lot, and always stay at this Holiday Inn. Being a travel agent, I am extremely picky about where I stay. The beds are comfortable, rooms are spacious, includes microwave and mini-fridge which is always a plus. They also offer a very good HOT complimentary breakfast. Plus the hotel offers a free shuttle back and forth from the casino! The customer services is always excellent. If you are a Priority Club Member, you even get a goody bag at check in. We were very happy with it, we didn't spend much time in the room but the beds were comfortable and the room was clean and very spacious. We didn't wait for the shuttle to pick us up from the casino because they said at night, they run about every 30mins so we jumped in a cab - it was a $7 ride. The staff was great, I forgot the key in the room and at 4am when we returned from the casino the front desk lady made us a key with no issues. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will probably stay here in the future! February 27, 2014
