Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Over priced for current condition Nice to hear that this property is scheduled for a remodel, hope it is a tear down/ rebuild. The staff was great. I just feel the rooms should be priced realistically. June 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great value and facilities - poor breakfast. All was good except the breakfast. They didn't open on time and the food was cold. I was there when they finally opened up for breakfast and the biscuits were ice cold from the very beginning. It seems like they were the biscuits from the previous day and they didn't even bother to heat them up. Terrible!! None of the food was hot but the biscuits were especially bad. May 30, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I would not stay here again The rooms were not very clean...they were very out dated May 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looking for a place to stay to see the zoo but got much more We chose the Holiday Inn to be a place outside of the city, but close enough to the St Louis Zoo to be convenient. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and directed us to good local (non-chain) restaurants at our request. The kids really enjoyed the pool that, despite being Memorial Day weekend, wasn't super busy. Our room was quiet and comfortable and we were very happy with our stay. May 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Atrium 1st thing...an oddity about this hotel, there is a guard at the driveway after hours that stop folks and write down their plate numbers...it's a bit unnerving. After a bit of exploring during the day, the area is safe, but that is a bit unnerving of an entrance :) The atrium is beautiful here and maybe the issue is that local folks sneak ot the property to use this :) Staff was friendly and the rooms were nicely updated. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Chlorine to strong Our room opened into the fun dome. The smell of chlorine was so strong even with the door closed that I was sick the next day. Also the 11:00 quiet time in the fun dome was non existent. It was after midnight before it was quiet enough to sleep. May 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Our Stay This was our 2nd time staying at the hotel. Once 8 years ago and again this month. We booked this hotel again this time, because of the experience we had previously. We couldn't have been happier. The kids had a great time, the room was great, the staff exceptional. We love this hotel and will be sorry to see it close. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, they really try to do whatever they can to make your stay the best. We loved the laundry facilities, that made the trip with 2 kids so much easier. Thank You for a memorable stay and again, the kids made some incredible memories while in St. Louis. May 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable 2 night stay Very nice employees. The lady that serviced the breakfast room was diligent at keeping the food tables filled and clean; at the same time she was friendly to everyone. Excellent selection of breakfast items. Next time I would not have a room on the pool side due to the chlorine smell in our room. May 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I needed I have stayed at this facility at least ten times. When my mother was in a nursing home, I would stay on Butler Hill because it "filled the bill". So this time for just a family/long-time friends visit, I chose it again. I will probably stay there again on my next visit. May 5, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ok for kids very nice hotel if you have kids, if you are going there for relaxing adult weekend,I would choose some where else. Because of the large "holidome" play area kids were everywhere screaming yelling and running .the hot tub (which was lukewarm at best) was over run with un attended small children . and if you have a room near the pool area you can forget trying to go to bed before midnight. Twice I called front desk to ask them to please stop kids from running and knocking on doorsat 11p (i had to be up at 430 am) ,it took me a few times to get front desk to answer. on good note ,the hotel was clean. My suggestion would to have an adult only hot tub (which was actually hot) and maybe have pool area close at around 10p and have adults only after 10p April 12, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A great place for family gatherings We have kids who live in St. Louis, and we have never stayed in your hotel. We thought it wasn't central enough, but when one of them moved to Imperial, we thought we'd try it. Wow, we were pleasantly surprised! Great pool and play area, awesome bar with plenty of room to gather and chat. The only downside was the breakfast. It was in a cramped area, and the staff was too busy chatting to pay attention to coffee, juice or anything else. We were super disappointed. The front desk staff gave us two fabulous recommendations for food and leisure. Great stay. We will be back, so please fix breakfast! March 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Superb other than the interstate traffic noise. I still rate your facility as excellent even though I had issues sleeping due to the interstate traffic noise. It was just a different environment than I am used to. That's all. The room was wonderful. The facility conveniently located to what I was doing there. Everyone was very friendly. And the facility was as clean and well cared for as I have experienced lately. Thanks for a good stay. March 19, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by food too few choices and average food food tasted like it was from a microwave March 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff When I stayed at your hotel it was great. All the staff was so Friendly and helpfull. You have agreat hotel and a great group of people. Keep up the good work. February 20, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room service was inadequate The room needed a serious cleaning and even though it was a smoking room the stale smoke smell was very objectionable. Room needed a complete air exchange and ozone cleansing. February 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good value Staff was very good. Indoor Pool/hot tub w/ play area nice for family stay. Video games expensive (I guess the going rate 3-4 quarters/play), but the pool & ping pong tables a nice addition. The place is looking a bit dated, but everything was in good repair and more importantly, the beds were good (not too hard nor soft). Simple free breakfast buffet- real scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, biscuits & gravy, cereal, OJ & breads w/ a toaster, & some sad apples (bummed there were no bananas). Breakfast as nothing special, but beat many other hotels free breakfasts in that the stuff on the buffet wasn't just thawed & microwaved. Dinner at the bar area was OK, basic/decent. The wraps were large. January 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel and location Great hotel and location. This hotel helps when family comes into town. January 2, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by older room In our past visits, our rooms opened to the inside and were always convenient to the amenities of the hotel. Our room opened to the outside, it was 20* and blustery. The bathroom was always cold and drafty (as was the hotel room floor). However, we will still continue to stay there because the location is convenient. Glad to see the free breakfast there since all others offer it. January 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hotel review The Staff was helpful, the room was great. the hotel was full that night but it was not over crowded. I could not ask for a better night! December 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet room, great beds We were a little bit worried about noise in the room as we were at theend of the hall closest to the Holidome & there was a child's birthday party was ongoing but once we were in the ro & closed the door, you couldn't hear a sound! The beds were very comfortable. Nice,.big flat screen TV. Room service available December 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great service and great place to relax fitness, ping pong, pool, swimming pool, restaurant, good food, nice people. All in all a great place to stay. December 3, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Freindly Staff Hotel was acceptable for overnight stay. Hotel needs major upgrades. Carpets through out hotel are dirty and smell of smoke even though the room/floor is non smoking. Bathroom small and out dated. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Good place to stay if passing through town. November 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Family Place My four sons and I stayed here over the Veteran's Day weekend, when every single room in the hotel was booked. This hotel was not our first choice—I'm a member of a competitor chain, but the hotel we stayed at before (which my kids loved) was completely booked. I chose this Holiday Inn because it was close to the downtown area (only 18 miles away) and, unlike other hotels, they didn't bump up the room rate for Veteran's Day Knowing that the hotel would be crowded, I was expecting the worst and prepared my sons for noisy nights and poor service, but none of that turned out to be the case. The Holiday Innl staff was completely present and pleasant, from the front desk to the cheerful server in the restaurant, to the housekeeping person keeping the pool area straightened up. The swimming pool was very crowded in the early evening, but there were other things to do in the Fundome, including ping-pong for just 25¢ and air hockey. Later in the evening, when the younger kids went to bed, the pool cleared out and my kids were able to swim and play. Around that time, a large group of teenagers, there for a leadership convention, returned from dinner and the hallways got a little noisy. I thought we'd be able to hear the teens socializing throughout the night, but none of us heard a thing and slept soundly. Great sound-proofing! The beds here are comfortable -- four pillows per queen! And even the sleeper chair was fine, according to my son. Although there were five of us in the room at times, we didn't feel too crowded. Wi-fi worked great, so the boys were happy! And I was overjoyed by the restaurant's deal of the century: with one adult meal, up to four kids eat free! Sure worked for this single mom! Here's the last word of praise for the hotel -- on our last day there, I had planned to go to the St. Louis Science Center for a few hours before driving back to Chicago. The boys unanimously voted to skip the science center and stay at the hotel to swim and play in the Fundome until check out time! November 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Just like home It was as comfortable as being at home, warm and cozy. October 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by St. Louis This hotel was very clean and comfortable. The only disappointment was that there wasn't a refrigerator. Everything else about the room was great - neat and clean. October 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and very clean rooms. We always stay here when we come to a Cardinals ballgame. It is easy to get to right off the interstate and we prefer not to stay downtown. The rooms are always very clean and the service is great! October 2, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Dissapointed We had a confirmed reservation for a. Accessible room with a roll in shower. Upon arrival we were told that the room was occupied by people who decided to stay an extra day and were given a room with a tub. After seeing the room we went to the desk and were given a $40 credit towards the room rate. We had no choice but to stay the night, but I was unable to take a shower the next morning. While we appreciate the gesture, I believe that the other people should have been told to move to the tub room and we should have been given the room that had been confirmed. October 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Second stay My first stay was in June of 2013. This last stay in September was a great improvement. The TV was clear, all staff readily available to help, and the cleanliness stayed at an impresssive level. Thanks for a good visit in St Louis. September 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Second Stay at this Hotel The friendliest staff ever. Smiling faces, friendly voices, everything you want a hotel staff to be. This was our second stay at this Holidome and both stays were great. The only thing I didn't like was wearing a wrist band. The gestapo came by and checked to make sure we had ours on. Should have known us by day two. Other than the wrist band, the stay was great. The grand children enjoyed the pool and games. 75 cents was a little high for the motorcycle and car games. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by To be avoided I stayed labor day weekend 2013. At check-in, they wrote down the wrong room number for me. So, my room keys wouldn't work!! When I went back to the front desk, there was another guest with a room key problem. The property is old and not renovated. The bathroom is out of date and dingy looking. The weather was warm and the air conditioning in the hallway wasn't working. It was very hot in the hallway. You don't automatically get free breakfast!! They told me my room rate didn't include breakfast. Just as well though. The restaurant looked very dated and the staff appeared to be completely disorganized. It didn't look like a place I wanted to eat. September 7, 2013
