Hotel is new. Clean and sufficient amenities in room. Parking is well guarded at night and staff are friendly.

Stayed here for a night on my trip to Melaka and the reservation, enquiries etc were well handled and no problem at all faced! I . The room was clean and all the amenities in the room were working fine too. Would definitely stay here if I do visit Melaka again and would also recommend it to my friends and family.

Ill start with the good. 1. Very good platinum recognition, upgraded from deluxe to club straits view room. 2. Concierge extremely helpful and attentive. 3. Tea Tree Spa massage was good quality as usual.4. Generally, staff were helpful and all smiles. 5. Convenient location to Melaka Attractions. 6. Late check out was extended to 3pm.
Bad. 1.this is a stay to celebrate my partner birthday and 3 seperate emails to welcome@holidayinnmelaka to make special arrangements was not being replied to. 2. upon check-in, details in my check in slip was not my personal details, it reflected as someone else NRIC/Address but the IHG member details are mine?. 3. Check In Staff told me I have a 40% massage discount, only to be disputed by Tea Tree Spa staff that it is 20% after i have booked my package. TTS offered 30% at the counter and i accepted it as i did not want to spoil my partner birthday celebration. 4. This time there were no welcome amenities as IHG Plat as compared to previous stay we had a fruit platter, cookies and welcome letter from Manager. 5. Housekeeping told me there is no turndown service, housekeeper came up and passed me a set of bath amenities instead, however turndown service was available in previous stay. 6. I mentioned about the birthday amenities to the executive lounge staff, he said he will check and revert. Upon checking, He called out my name from his desk towards the sofa i was sitting (half the distance of the lounge!)and hand signalled me to walk over to his desk, his tone was very Rude! 7. Same lounge staff argued with me that I did not include the birthday amenities under my reservation remarks, only to change his stand when i shown him my original booking with remarks on it, very unprofessional. 8. Poor evening canapes spread, food spread limited and were not refilled. There were 3 hot food option on saturday and reduced to 2 on sunday? last year was better!. 9. Air-conditioning had a ticking sound every 20minutes but hotel could not do anything as they was full during the whole weekend.
One of the most frustrating IHG property stay throughout my entire time as an IHG Plat and although another executive lounge staff manage to bring a slice of fruit cake for my partner on the second night, damage was already done. Frustrated that my partner was disappointed in this stay which was meant to be an happy occasion.
