Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy and no bath My booking was misplaced and after driving 4 hours and arriving at around midnight for a 10am flight, it took some time to arrange a new booking as they simply could not find my booking. I was then placed in a wheelchair friendly room, which was not the standard I am used to, it had no bath and the bathroom was just not really appropriate for my needs. I found the room to not have its usual warm comfy feel. June 19, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Expensive for what it provides This was quite expensive for the quality of the facility.... Staff mucked up my booking, my TV did not work properly. They did allow late check out and offer a bus link to the terminal .... Which is only about 400m away. Only OK... Next time I will go elsewhere. June 16, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient and comfortable, but faulted Served its purpose well for an overnight stay before a morning flight departure. Reception person was rather cold and didn't know (asked me!) if I had stayed there before, despite me being a frequent flyer. Room was very adequate and clean. Our door key failed to work properly but a staff member came past and assisted, then got a replacement key for us, at her own volition. Renovations were going on at the front entrance and the signage and lighting to find and use the alternative, narrow entrance was completely inadequate and very unprofessional - felt like a third rate motel! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Service at Reception, Overpriced I had arrived in Australia on the day I checked in and was allocated a quiet room (610) as requested. The decor is passed its best and the paint work and carpets are somewhat tatty. Not good given the nightly charge. The main disappointment was the obnoxious attitude of the member of staff that I dealt with at check out. I was unfamiliar with the card payment system in Australia which is different to that in the UK. I was struggling to understand certain questions that were being asked but this individual was not in least bit courteous and was glaring at me and making unacceptable comments. It is clear that she was inadequately trained on dealing with visitors that are not familiar with the Australian system. It was a shocking experience and I will not be able to recommend this Holiday Inn because of this unacceptable attitude. June 9, 2014

Breakfast is good and so is the restaurant. Other positives: close to airport and shuttle service from the hotel. Nice and quiet. However the shuttle service during the night can be improved. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great room and service Stayed for 3 days while visiting family and friends. The location was perfect for me and I was able to easily travel in all directions. The staff were helpful when I wanted to book a second room for a friend and my request was processed without any problems. Being able to get to the airport in quite literally 2 minutes takes away the stress of missing a flight. The room was comfortable and everything I needed was there. I would definitely stay again. My only issue is that there is no real recognition for Priority Club Members. In the USA you receive small gifts, even as simple as bottles of water, snack bars, fresh fruit, complimentary breakfast etc. Sadly there was nothing like that, just a printout with my points balance. Maybe this is something for the management to think about ..... May 27, 2014

I stayed during an overnight stopover between flights at Melbourne and was made to feel extremely welcome right from the moment the free courtesy transfer picked me up late at night from my flight to a scrumptuous breakfast ready at precisely 5.30 the next morning. The room was very comfortable and quiet. A highly recommended property that met my needs exactly. May 12, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff and Service The shuttle bus from Airport to Hotel was excellent. The shuttle bus from Hotel to Airport was poor. I am disabled and walk with a walker-device. The driver let me off at an area where there was no one around and was quite far from the main airport door. There were luggage trollies, but they require coins. He had no change in his pocket. I had 2 large suitcases with me. It was a real struggle for me to get to the ticket counter. May 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice room & friendly, helpful statt We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of a 5 week visit to AUS & NZ. The location was great and surprisingly quiet. We were able to walk to Hertz to pick up and drop off our rental car. The terminals are also in walking distance if you don't have too much luggage. The breakfast buffet was very good and the one bar meal we had the night we arrived was nice too. Our room on the top floor was excellent and the bed very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again should we return to Melbourne. One minor negative: It can be difficult to find a space in the car park when returning after an evening out. April 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and staff The Holiday Inn at Melbourne Airport is located right across the car park from the airport, and whilst there is a bus that takes you to the terminal, without a lot of luggage you could walk through. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful with what to do with our rental car, filling up gas etc. and made check-in smooth and friendly. Our room was fine and in spite of the proximity to the airport the room was quiet and comfortable - other than the air-con that we struggled to control. Dinner in the restaurant was ok - not outstanding but well cooked. Our waitress was charming, as was the bar person - she really went out of her way to get the right drinks and bring them over. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient location, good room and bed The place is very convenient for accessing the Airport, even better the hotel provided us free van transport to the terminal, saving us a lot of trouble from moving the lugages as well as kids in early morning. The room is surprisingly spacious; beds are big and comfortable. As a IHG member I enjoyed the free Wi-fi so it's very good stay though very short. April 14, 2014

We took many daily road trips and the staff was very helpful with directions and information on highways. This hotel room was a comfortable place to come home to. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. We did not try the restaurant while we were there. April 7, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great spot for relaxation before a long flight We chose this hotel located right at the airport as we needed a good nights sleep before a 15 hour flight the next morning. Check in was efficient. As we made our way upstairs to our room I held my breath as the lobby was dodgy and old looking. No need to worry, the room was lovely, the bed was great and the pillows marvelous. Flat screen TV and even hot cocoa as an amenity. High prices at the mini bar precluded any purchase, which is a pity if you are peckish. Clean bathroom. A great night's sleep and onto the flight. Thank you very much Holiday Inn. The service we experienced from check in to airport drop off was second to none. We were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional customer service from the staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome (even with two small children). The restaurant staff interacted with the kids and accommodated our requests for minor changes to the menu. We were so impressed that we cancelled the hotel we had booked for our return trip and re-booked with the Holiday Inn. 10 out of 10. March 10, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Awful service My wife and myself planned to catch a rest between flights, as we arrived in Melbourne at 3:00AM and had to leave the hotel at 11:00AM. We explicitly requested a room with two beds at reservation time (which was confirmed), but to our surprise we were allocated an accommodation with a queen bed only. Our rest was interrupted twice at 8:00AM and 8:30AM by housekeeping despite the fact that we placed the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the outside of the door. Moreover, the 8:30AM interruption was actually a housekeeper walking into the room without even knocking. From that point onwards, we were unable to sleep. At check-out time, I was informed that the room&tax amount was previously debited from my credit card, which is neither common worldwide nor it was previously mentioned at reservation time.
