We chose the Holiday Inn at Tullamarine Airport due to it's close proximity to the airport. We had a very early flight the next day and it was an easy 5 - 7 min walk to the airport even though a free shuttle bus was offered. We were made very welcome when we arrived to check in. We had a pleasant overnight stay. Highly recommended.

I love how they have black out curtins it feels like the middle of the night if you have to sleep when it is light out! I really like this hotel, stayed many times. The only negative I have is I asked if the free airport shuttle included Essendon Airport (10mins down the road) and the man laughed at me as if it was a stupid question... then when checking out I asked another person and they straight out said no... It is an Airport shuttle and Essendon is an RPT airport too...10 mins away.

Restaurant overpriced - lunch and dinner selection limited, quality average. I prefer plain food at reasonable price. Breakfast good.

On arrival, with a lot of luggage and a toddler in tow, we were offered no assistance to get our bags into the lobby. Is there no such thing as a porter anymore?
While the room was reasonably comfortable, we had a terrible experience with food and beverage service. We ordered meals and drinks to be brought to the room. They took nearly an hour to arrive. Twice, the wrong wine order was brought. The bottle of Shiraz we eventually received was literally undrinkable (and expensive) and we consumed less than half a glass of it. My companion was so unimpressed with his meal that he didn't eat it beyond the first two mouthfuls.
The shuttle bus service to the airport terminal seemed to be insufficient; after queuing for check-out, we didn't have time to wait the 15 minutes until the next bus run, so had to walk through the maze that is the airport carpark.
To be fair, when we stayed at this hotel 2 years ago, we had a much better experience, including very good food. It is sad to see that things have gone downhill.

Room exactly as requested, spacious and very comfortable. Well appointed and very clean. This hotel is excellently sited for early morning departure/arrival customers, with very efficient check-in/out procedures and warm and friendly staff, who also go out of their way to assist you. The early morning Shuttle Bus to the early airport, with our many bags, was particularly appreciated. The only drawback for the stay, was the 1am stamping and thunderous noise on our roof, (from the eighth floor above), from where inconsiderate late arrival guests interrupted our sleep with their activities. Perhaps for an otherwise great stay and excellent hotel, late arrivals and other arriving or returning guests should be accommodated on the ground and lower floors to minimise sound and disruptions to other guests? This would assist in maintaining your hotel at a great standard and indeed, making it even better, for all your guests, not just the late night ones! Keep working on doing what you do well and work to make other aspects better. Highly recommend this hotel for airport-specific travelers.

Spent 2 nights here whilst on business in Melbourne.
Very convenient location on top of the airport (walking distance) but not at all noisy.
Room comfortable, choice of pillows (nice touch) comfy bed and clean room.
Staff very good. facilities good, bar a bit pricey.
Would definately stay here again.

The airport Holiday Inn has gone down hill over the past 12 to 18 months. You now have to pay for parking during your stay, As a platinum priorty member we were always up graded and given special attention. Even though we have stayed dozens of times that is never recognised. That special service is gone now. Since the path to the terminal has been changed (Holiday Inn not resposible) there is not much value in staying there, as thereis no cover if it is raining. Yes we know there is a shuttle bus, but the attraction was you were in control of getting there and back. Why not pay less and stay just off the airport if you have to use the shuttle. Sorry it is just not the same.

Excellent staff and service.They always make you feel welcome. Ihave stayed many times at Melb airport Holiday Inn. It is so convenient to stay there and leave my car in a safe place when traveling away. Iwould recommend it to anyone. Im staying there again in January on my way to the Holiday Inn in Darwin and am sure i will get great service at both Hotels..

I arrived from a 15 hour flight. I had my bags and a friends. I was struggling to get into the building and the male staff member watched me, but did nothing to help.
When I was checking out early in the morning, I got the shuttle. THe man who came to my room to take my bags dragged one along the floor and ripped the handle off. Granted it was a cheap bag, but he said "the bags too heavy and broke". No "I'm sorry", no offer to compensate me. The bags were thrown into the shuttle and off I went. I was also told I needed to hurry as people were waiting in the shuttle. I came down, the lobby was empty and no one was in either van.
I have stayed here a few times, but I will be looking for an alternative. I don't expect to be treated so badly. The lady at check in was lovely, but not enough to have me stay again.

We arrived at 11-45pm off a flight from Brunei,reception told us the house bar was open untill 11-30pm but when we approached the bar we were told it closed at 11pm we managed a couple of drinks,after the bar closed 12 other persons arrived to check in they were sad they could not get bar service.I think an Airport Hotel should cater for travellers a bit later ,I relize you have mini bars but that is not what you want after being in a plane for several hours.Other than than the Hotel is great.

Just thoroughly enjoyed my two night stay. I really needed to be relaxed and fresh for a family wedding and it was just the place to do that. All staff were great at answering any request I put forward.

After a long flight from London (26 hours in all) it was great to see my husband waiting for me at Melbourne Airport (10 30 pm) and then we only had a very short walk to reach the Holiday Inn hotel.
A lovely hot shower and much needed sleep followed.

Great Staff, great location. Comfortable room. Restaurant was overpriced. Dined at the bar instead. Still steep for a burger and fries but better than the main restaurant.
I would stay again for the convenience and location to the airport.

Nice and close to the airport. Flight was delayed 3 hours and they made the every effort to help us out and make our stay comfortable. Nice beds and great to sleep in. Rooms nice and clean! All round great place to stay for the price.

We chose to stay at the Holiday in because of the offer to stay one night but leave our car for 7 nights and as we were catching a 6:30am flight.
It was very busy when we checked in but that was ok. Our room was very clean and welcoming.
The room service dinner was very good and reasonably priced.
We were then shuttled to the airport in the morning, making the whole experience so much easier and a more relaxing way to start our holiday than a rushed trip up from Geelong early in the morning.
On our return to collect the car after our 7 nights away we decided to have coffee and snacks at the bar. The two staff on (13th Oct, lunch time, one male/ one female) were fabulous and should be highly commended for their wonderful staff service.
We will definately return again!
