Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by central location,great nights sleep.good service Coming from interstate(Tas) with two children (9yrs,13yrs) we need accommodation that is close to transport,cafes,hotels and fast food joints this hotel ticks all the boxes. transport to the airport and back and public transport is close by .A short walk to Southbank and along the river to the MCG or to Etihad.The food at the hotel is great if not a little expensive The amenities are better than average,and the pool is always a hit with the kids,even in winter overall convenient,troublefree,comfortable and better than average July 2, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Understanding staff and flexible no cancellation Policy I booked a No cancellation booking due to a website error from an Agent (no Holiday Inn fault) which ended me booking a room in Sydney instead of Melbourne. I called the staff in Sydney and she allowed me to cancel it. I will continue to use Holiday Inn as my first choice hotel booking whenever possible. June 30, 2014

This central location gives easy access to theatres/shows, Melbourne's markets and a whole range of eateries. Staff were very helpful. Rooms were pleasant with a range of pillows to meet the differing needs of travellers. Comfy bed. June 14, 2014

Crown Casino and Southern Cross railway station only a short stroll from hotel. however, took quite a few nights to get used to the outside noise of trains running during the night. inside room you could hear toilets flushing from other rooms above. Look , the location is the reason we stayed at this hotel and whilst the above noises during the night were annoying I would probably stay here again. June 12, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value for money Located at the intersection of Flinders Lane and Spencer Street, the Holiday Inn on Flinders is well located to Docklands with a price tag that matches the quality - a good upper mid-range hotel. Staff were friendly, the room well presented and the upgrade to a suite appreciated. You're not paying for 5-star, nor do you receive it. But you get what you're promised and a little bit more. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No frills but no big complaints The room and amenities were pleasant, though I was directly opposite the lift, which meant I had some noise from people in transit. Similarly, facing the street (Flinders Lane) meant I got some real traffic noise, but not excessive. The breakfast in-room was surprisingly good and good value. The internet was patchy, sometimes good, sometimes quite poor. I would stay here again, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice. June 9, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't stay Omg would not stay again staff where great but got sick of hearing them say I am sorry about it !!! We turned up at 4.30 pm to check in and we get told our room is not ready so please wait at the bar so we waited till 5.30 and I'll ask again about our room and it is still not ready so we told them we where heading out for tea. We got back to the motel about 9pm and final got into our room and OMG it smelled the guy come up and spayed smelly stuff but it didn't work . April 30, 2014

There was Happy Hour so we took advantage of that, followed by a great meal. The bar staff and food waiters were excellent. The men urinal behind the front desk needs some attention as discussed with staff. Looking forward to our next visit. April 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Business & Pleasure in The Heart of Melbourne I have stayed at this hotel for both business and for personal vacations to Melbourne. From a business standpoint it is in an excellent location on the edge of the Melbourne CBD and the new Docklands development, with easy access to the freeway to the airport. For exploring Melbourne for pleasure it offers a whole heap more. It sits on the edge of the tram system with access to both North/South and East/West tram routes. So whether you want to explore St. Kilda, Toorak Road, Chapel Street, Port Melbourne, or Bridge Road factory label outlets etc. they are all just a tram ride away - and it's so easy with the Melbourne MyKi travel card. The MCG is a short 20 minute walk as is the heart of Docklands. The Melbourne Exhibition Centre and attached Duty Free Outlets are only 10 minutes walk. Southbank and The Crown Casino complex are only a five minute walk. I stay about 60-70 nights a year in IHG hotels in the various chains they own. This is probably not the most luxurious of them, but the staff are definitely the most friendly and welcoming of any that I've stayed in in Australia, Asia, the US and Europe. My guess is that this is because it is not a very large hotel. So whether for business purposes or as a base to explore Melbourne, I would highly recommend this hotel. April 24, 2014

Paul assisted me in organising my time with day trips in the area. The restaurant food was fine, with breakfast a particular highlight due to the attention to detail provided by the chefs and waitresses. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good location and friendly We checked in on my birthday and the member of staff recognised this and made an additional fuss of me - a nice touch. Our room was clean and comfortable, though we struggled with the air-con, and the bathroom was fine. The Grand Prix was on when we stayed so the hotel was very busy, and at quite a high cost, but staff were overall efficient and only one panic when the incorrect labels were attached to our cases to be stored for the day. The location is good to be able to walk into town or across the river, as well as to the free city circle tram - recommend by the receptionist. A hotel that we would return to. April 17, 2014

Great location within walking distance to CBD, trams, trains and just down the road from the airport (Spencer Street) city drop off. Would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room was OK, sort off? Air conditioning dripped water onto carpet during stay. Staff not very friendly. I found this unusual as most Holiday Inns have great friendly Staff. When I went to tell them about the water on the Tuesday morning the male staff were only interested in speaking to females. So I gave up waiting and didn't bother anymore. It is not my carpet that will rot away. As for coffee at night when we returned to the Hotel. Cannot complain about the service, Yes I can no one looks at you and you are left standing there until at last they decide to grace you with some service. They should at least acknowledge you while you are waiting and within hands reach. I will pay the extra for customer service but this Holiday Inn didn't offer this. What a let down April 14, 2014
