I have stayed at this hotel several times over many years. It has been refurbished since the last time I was here. My room was clean and fresh. It is very convenient to Beale Street. It may not quite have the panache of The Peabody, but it is quieter, and you won't wait all day on an elevator.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PRC2014 Nice, but parking/breakfast fee is a downer
Our keys didn't work to get into the pool area(had to have them rekeyed), then the keys stopped working to get into our room(had to have them rekeyed). Breakfast staff wasn't very friendly. Didn't appreciate having to pay $22 a day for parking. Not pleased there wasn't a continental breakfast for free like in other Holiday Inns. Free breakfasts bring back customers. No in room fridge. Otherwise the hotel and rooms were clean.
If the staff wants to know why the tips are not higher is because the breakfast is NOT free and the parking is NOT free. If these 2 things were free, then my normal tips would have been given. I understand other hotels also charge for parking/breakfast but why do you have to be a follower, instead you should be a leader in the area and offer them for free. I am normally a good tipper but when i have to over pay for other amenities, my tips are much lower.
I only recommend this place because of its location and also we like Holiday Inns but the overcharges will deter me in the future.

Front desk was short staffed. There was only one person checking people in despite a long line. Check out was the same way. I ended up leaving my cards on the desk and walking out. Room was basic hotel room setup. Nothing fancy. Ice machine made an obnoxious noise entire stay. Stairwells were littered with food trays. There was a person passed out in the stairway one morning. Overall not the experience I would expect for the money paid.

Everyone was nice and friendly. We where greeted with great people. Our king bed room was not ready and did not know when it would be ready. We had to take a double bed room.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by shotwoody Hello I'm Platinum
This facility is close to everything in downtown Memphis. The weekends and really nice nights, the streets are alive at night. Memphis folks are always friendly.
I spent almost 2 weeks here, and with many hotels a stay this long prompts a relationship and recognition with the staff. Not here. Every morning, I was like a new face to the coffee shop and restaurant staff. Service is slow, even for Memphis standards.
I wish this hotel puts some value to the Platinum status. I was not recognized by choosing to stay exclusively at IHG properties.
