Only a few minutes walk to Beale St. But quiet and comfortable. Could do with renovation - rooms looking a bit tired

People (staff) were nice
Location is Great (convenient)
Very dated hotel, noisy rooms, ac controls must have been original to the hotel - had to set on 60 to get cooling. Overall a poor experience.
Very disappointing since I am a Spire member

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jessbme28 Great location for Beale St., but....
The service was absolutely fantastic. From the valet to the front desk, I could not have been happier.
The room left something to be desired. When we first arrived the room had a good look; however, upon closer inspection there were a few issues.
1. The toilet seat had dried urine all over it. It made me question how clean the rest of the room actually was. I had antibacterial wipes so I cleaned it myself, but that is DEFINITELY something housekeeping should not miss!!
2. Got back to my room from Beale on the first night and wanted to shower...it took over 45 minutes for the water to even become warm. I called the front desk and they said this was normal. The next morning though I did not have that issue at all.
3. The fire alarm in the bathroom was blaring on day 2 because of the door being closed and the steam from the shower. I did not know if I should be concerned that the alarm was going off or that I would be charged extra because the confounded thing was going off from the steam. Very unnerving.
All in all it was an enjoyable experience, but the valets and the staff were the ones who made that possible.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 4CAGirl Downtown location, older and small
Older building but renovated, clean and well kept. Rooms and bathroom were VERY small for my family of 5.We called for extra towels and after a few hours we finally went to front desk and requested them. They had difficulty finding any but we did get a couple Elevators were slow. Pool was on a rooftop but somewhat secluded and bc it is older it was big and the kids had a good time. In the heart of down town within walking distance to everything. Parking garage and courteous valet service. Some efforts to make this an upscale hotel despite it being an older Holiday Inn. No complimentary breakfast, which is one main reason we love the chain, and for the higher price was a let down. Overall, still worth staying at a quality chain you can trust.
