Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Laundry Not clear information on web-site!
On the Holiday Inn web-site, it states that the Holiday Inn Zocolo provide self serve coined laundry matt to wash your own clothing. This is NOT true. They only provide laundry services during weekdays and NOT the weekends. I stayed during a weekend in hopes to have the access to cleaning my clothes (which is hard to find in Mexico City). Instead, I was stuck with washing my clothing in the shower and leaving it to dry near the window. This could be a danger to travelers not familiar with Mexico City if they start walking around town by them selves to look for a place to wash their clothes.
There is also no shuttle to the airport as posted on their web-site, only taxis.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Valenti Holiday Inn Express Zocolo, Mexico City
I saw several negative reviews about this hotel when I was looking to make a reservation but I did not experience any of those comments I heard about and am very happy that I stayed there.
The location was excellent and the staff was very helpful. My room was very large with an excellent view of the Zocolo and the Cathedrial. Everything I wanted to see was just a few blocks away or a short 12 min ride on the Metro.
I did not use the restaurant facilities so I can not rate the food or service for that but overall my experience was positive and most of all, the price for the room was very reasonable.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JChanMe Room too small
I booked for two beds room and it gave me a family room with 3 beds, and the TV was hanging so high on the wall so you have to keep you head up all the time if you are to watch TV. They then found us another room but the room was so small, small beds, small window, small bathroom. What bothered me the most is the internet, it was too slow like I was using dial-up. I mean, come on! Can you guys get a faster internet connection? One more thing to add though, this is Holiday Inn and I didn't notice the breakfast was not included. It was not a good experience for me.
However, I have to say, the location is perfect. I do not recommend this hotel unless you are fond of the old architecture and location. Personally I prefer.

The hotel was well placed for the local history and shopping. It did not add to the experience, however, and the hotel, service and value was unsatisfactory.

I am a platinum member and I live at IHG Hotels and this was one of the best!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 20SomethingTraveler THE place to stay near the Zocalo
-Location: as a tourist with my mother in tow, it was extremely important to be close to the Zocalo. I don't think we could have been any closer than this hotel! Easy access to the tour bus stop, famous eateries (like El Cardenal) are right around the corner, Palacio de Bellas Artes is a few blocks down the street, Templo Mayor is a stone's throw away, and a pedestrian shopping district is just behind the hotel.
-El Balcon del Zocalo: the restaurant on the 6th floor offers a seriously amazing view of the Zocalo. Perfect spot to grab a beer and watch the sunset over the National Cathedral
-Value: in consideration of provided accommodations (clean rooms, hotel-wide internet) and access to the City's sites, this Hotel was a steal. I would definitely stay here again in the future
-Safety: despite Mexico City's infamous dangers, I felt relatively safe at this hotel. Attentive staff flanked the doorways, prohibiting intruders, and safes are provided in every room
-Thin walls: Surprisingly enough, I could not hear traffic noise in my 5th floor room. I could, however, hear the television from all adjacent rooms. Be warned that Sunday afternoons bring drummers to the Zocalo, which may certainly be heard in other rooms (but not in mine)
-Food: call me picky, but I found El Balcon del Zocalo's food offerings sub-par and overpriced. You are better off to have an early dinner at El Cardenal and grab a night cap at El Balcon.
Conclusion: If location is your thing, stay at this hotel. Just be prepared to eat elsewhere and bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

The room was very small and next to a downtown busy street, so I could hear all the traffic through my window bedroom. I will never stay at this hotel again and do not recomend it. The only good thing about the hotel is the restaurant located on the 6th floor, which has a great view.

This Hotel is located in a excellent place, near a lot of tourist attractions and of the Zocalo subway station.
The staff is polite and very helpful towards any doubt and information you may need. There is also some computers at the main hall, where you may access the internet and even a printer if you need print anything.
The room is clean and comfortable, the shower is excellent.
I had problem with the keys, that happened to be demagnetized and with the drink machine, that runned empty and it took days to be renewed.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ribo Great View
A terrific location, and if you go, ask for a room with a view of the Zocalo; there is always something going on, from a military flag raising to a street demonstration, to Aztec dancers, with the cathedral's bell tolling every hour. Never fear, you can tune it all out by closing the window, but you won't want to.

The hotel is worth staying not only for its central location but for the restaurant at the roof overlooking the National Palace, the Cathedral and the Zocalo square. But is the jazz group that plays live on Wedensdays that makes the experience unforgettable.
I hope this group continues performing. I think is called Santamaria or Tony Deras group. Food is also very good.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by chicatraveler Perfectly centered location in Zocalo
Perfect property if you want to be close to city center. Easy walk to most sites around Zocalo. Bonus: we enjoyed the Revolution Day parade with great view from restaurant terrace. Rooms functional, beds comfortable, room very clean. Minor issue front desk staff seemed annoyed or cold, but for the location/value, a must stay. Great hotel taxi service, or use electric taxis (green cars) registered site around the corner. Look like a tourist? Always use registered taxis from any hotel, hailing one down can cost you your goods....it happened to my parents few years ago.
For Tours, go to Youth Hostel accross the green electric cars/behind cathedral...super prices. If a large group, negotiate with hotel taxi driver for transportation cost. #don't miss the Castle at Chapultepec!).
Enjoy the flavors, smells and sounds of the big city...avoid American chains or fancy restaurants, too. Eat at smaller, local locations and cafes and feel the difference.

I arrived to the hotel, one hour later I was in my roon and an hotel employee went inside my room with a key, she knock the door at the same time that she opened and went inside... I went down stairs and talk with a room Manager or something like that and complain, next morning at 8:00 am, same thing someone went inside the room, if the hours to leave the hotel it is at 11:00 am, why the employees went inside the rooms....

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Laeti Great Place, great staff, great room
I spent 2 nights at the hotel last week, I was there for business.
My suitcase got lost between Washington DC and Mexico city (direct flight, how come?) and the staff has been extremely kind and helpful in the process to get it back.
I want to send them a big THANKS because they have been very patient, and helped me call the airline company and the airport, in order for me to have it before I left!!
The room was awesome, a junior suite, very large with a huge bathroom.
Extremely clean, and very comfortable bed.
Thankfully, the hotel provides a toothbrush, toothpaste etc... things that had remained in my suitcase and that I didn't have time to buy because of my heavy schedule.
My window was on the Plaza Cinco de Mayo, I was there during weekdays so it's not very noisy.
Yes, the cathedral rings its bell every hour (I read that in some comments...) but it's a noise that you can survive!!
Otherwise, the hotel itself was very calm.
The neighborhood is great and convenient.
I will go again for the same conference next year, and I will definitely stay in this hotel again. Really liked it, really liked the staff.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dissatisfied99 Jail Cell of a Room
My only reference is what I see on TV, but this room felt like a jail cell. The room is so small, you almost have to turn sideways to get around the bed. For the price you are charging per night, I should be a heck of a lot more comfortable. Also, the first night my neighbor had his TV so loud it kept me awake almost the entire evening. I finally reached a breaking point and literally banged on his door to get him to turn it down. Seems to me the hotel staff can do a "walk-around" to manage things like this. I should not have to "police" other guests in your hotel. Also, the breakfast buffet leaves a lot to be desired, for the price. You really feel comfortable charging that much for that undesirable level of food? I understand you may want to offer some local fare, but at least you can make a better effort. The location is pretty good since it is near the main square of the city, and very close to shopping areas. Also close to quite a few churches and museums. Would have liked access to a swimming pool.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Artix Great Location
I recently stayed in this hotel and I was surprised in a positive way. What impress me the most is that the hotel areas are immaculate. The restaurant in the sixth floor has an amazing view to El Zocalo . The food at this restaurant is really good as well as the staff that is kind and efficient.
I was upgraded to a Junior Suite which is something I appreciate. Comfortable bed and a large jacuzzi. I really liked the room. The only downside of this room was that the wall located beside the bed that is covered with a fabric, is dirty with dust from the A/C, also the noise from the Cathedral bells that sounds many many times during the night avoiding a quality sleep. Other than that is a nice hotel and a good choice to stay in Mexico City and explore the best historical part of the city.
The front desk staff was absolutely courteous and polite during the registration process, and if you are a Priority Club member, be ready to receive the treatment you expect to get
Thanks to the hotel staff for making my short stay, a pleasant one.

I reserved 2 rooms for a total of 12 nights using PC points and both rooms were upgraded to suites (rooms 314 and 414). Some hotels treat reward nights as lost income but this hotel treated all of our party as VIPs. I was very impressed.
The rooms were great, the service was great and the location is great! We were fortunate to be in a corner room during the anti- Televisa / Pena Nieto protest of July 7, 2012 and it was great!
