I arrived at the hotel at 11pm to find that my confirmed and prepaid booking was not to be honored because the hotel was too full and they had overbooked. I booked directly through IHG site. I had to be sent to alternative accommodation which caused great problems with my business trip logistics especially as the planning included other colleagues and we had chosen to stay at the same hotel. The staff were dishonest when they suggested I stay at another Holiday Inn "just 10 min away by taxi". This was not the case. It took 25 min at 23h30 (quiet roads) to get there, and 45 min to get back in the morning. My trip was complete chaos and stressful, all because Holiday Inn gave my confirmed and prepaid room away. How can we trust booking confirmations in future? How do I know whether there will be a room waiting for me when I turn up? And the attitude of the staff was shockingly bad. No apology. No consideration for my inconvenience. I cannot use the term "service" as it was non-existent. I will never attempt to stay at this hotel again.

Stayed overnight for an early departure from Garibaldi. (5 mins walk). Room very good, reception excellent. However, as others have commented the noises from the street particularly the trams is intrusive (even on the 5th floor). . Score would have been excellent if room had increased glazing for sound proofing.

Garibaldi Station is a good hotel in the modern area of Milan.
Just some small improvements to be really a perfect 4 stars hotel.
