Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very disappointed! I've heard so many great things and granted it is a great location when you have a Mardi Gras ball at the civic center. But I booked our room Jan 8th through holiday inn and our ball was Feb 22nd. We got there at 4:30pm, our room was not ready. After an hour or more when we finally got in touch with the front desk, they told us our room was ready but had no more nonsmoking (which we paid for over a month prior) and they had to give us smoking. I've never had such a bad experience at a holiday inn. February 27, 2014

In addition, the air fresher they use is not only disgusting, it's entirely too much. I'd hate it if I had allergies. It was also in the hallways. Had to leave the door open for about an hour to get it to settle down. Gross. Otherwise, great staff, and a great place to catch a parade. February 26, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Exellent as Always I stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown Mobile every year for the Gulf States Horticulture Expo. The staff, service, rooms and hotel in general are outstanding. This year, during the "ice storm" the service of the staff in the hotel and restaurant shone even brighter. They provided service with a smile even though they stayed in the hotel 2 nights due to the dangerous icy conditions of the roads. You're the best! February 9, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not to Shabby, actually a really nice place We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the inside of the hotel was. Our room was laid out very nice with plenty of room to move around. The bathroom and room seemed cleaned although we did find change, wrappers and a strange looking connector thing in the top drawer of our dresser. Housekeeping, can't catch everything. Breakfast was average but the wait staff were right on point. Everything downtown was just a quick easy walk. We would stay here again. January 24, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The best Mobile has to offer We stayed 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Mobile Downtown. The lobby area is extremely pleasant. We were surprised when we checked in, it is nothing like any other Holiday Inn that we have stayed at. There is a large sitting area with several clusters of comfortable chairs and sofas. The staff was extremely friendly. Every staff member that we encountered (even when we were just walking down the hall) asked if we needed anything or asked if we were enjoying our stay. Our room was tastefully decorated. There was a choice of soft or firm pillows on each bed. We ate supper and breakfast in the restaurant. The food was great, as well as the service. The staff was very friendly at both check in and out I requested a late check out to allow us time to shower after the race and it was given. I will stay here again when we are in the Mobile area January 16, 2014

Will more than likely stay somewhere else next time in Mobile though seeing as no one offered us any type of apology once we mention the fact our room was dirty. December 28, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No heat or air The outside was very pretty. The first room we got smelled really badly of smoke. We called to tell them so they wouldn't think it was us, but we aside we'd manage. Tried to use the air/heater but it was broken so we called the desk and they switched rooms for us. The second room heater was also broken, taped up, didn't work. But we just wanted to go eat and rest so we kept it. Later it was getting so cold in the room we propped the room door open to let heat from the hall in. It went up several degrees but it was still a cold nights sleep. Nice place if it had heat and air in all the rooms. December 3, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Customer Service Lacking When we arrived to check in around 5pm, the room was not ready, we had to wait 15 minutes. We were not instructed by the front desk clerk about where to go to get to the room, breakfast choices, checkout time or anything that's typical of staying in a hotel, we were also not given the wi-fi password. Once we got the room (which was a smoking room) there were no ashtrays, so I called front desk and asked if it was in fact a smoking room and she said yes, that she would have some ashtrays delivered, they never brought them. When we checked out, there was no "thank you come again" speech or any kind of concern whether we enjoyed our stay, no smiles either. They were not busy, which would partially excuse any extra effort in ensuring their guest was happy with their stay. The room was very nice and clean, although the tub drained extremely slow, which was kind of gross to stand in water while showering. All in all the room was nice but the staff needs customer service training. November 26, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location Six of us Nurses from Northwest Alabama, Helen Keller Hospital, stayed at your Holiday Inn for Bayfest 2013. This is the best way to stay during this event being close enough to walk to the event and also to enjoy Downtown! This was my second year to stay at Holiday Inn and have to say it was a great experience. Everyone friendly and the place is absolutely decorated beautifully! Hopefully this will be an annual event for us. Enjoyed our stay this year. October 19, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent room that needed some upgrades. Staff problems. Buzzing light fixture in bathroom was most annoying. Room was large but furniture not in good shape. Large rip in upholstery on seat of chair, mismatched chair and ottoman. Front desk staff very pleasant. I requested that the room be made up while I was out. Two hours later, when I returned, it had not been done. An hour later a staff person unlocked the door and entered without knocking. This will go on my travel blog. The hotel is slightly strange. There are very large spaces (lobby areas, hallways) with very little in them, often with the lights out, and few people, at least while I was there. September 23, 2013

I had a few concerns with the room which was addressed as quick as I reported. YOUR EMPLOYEE AT THE FRONT DESK ON DAY SHIFT was terrific as any one I have ever meet in your business. She went out of her way to not only get my requests handled, but also printed me driving instructions on two occasions to get me to where I wanted to go. The kind of company rep. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Horrid customer service Although I have stayed in this hotel before and enjoyed it, the way in which the front desk handled a billing issue has completely changed my mind. I purchased 1 night, and redeemed points for another - my girlfriend was the one staying in the room for a wedding this weekend. I was in Aspen on tour with my rock band. 9 am the morning after my girlfriend arrived late in the evening and checked in without incident, the front desk called and harassed her because your staff had misentered my credit card expiration date into the system. I had been assured the room was paid for, and the tone and demeanor with which your staff addressed my girlfriend and subsequently me, was absolutely unacceptable and insulting. I plan on following this up to explain in more detail. September 3, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not that great for the price I've stayed at many IHG properties and this one was pretty sad. For a hotel that appears high end it is not. We checked in at 1:00am and had to waited a very long time for check-in. At 1 in the morning, this was really disappointing. Our room had been given away due to the late arrival. The reasoning was that there were plumbing problems in the hotel and our room was open...so they gave it away. Did not feel like a IHG Gold member at that time. The lobby area was filled with a gorup drinking beer around a ice chest. Lots of beer cans everywhere. This does not give you the comfort of staying in a high end hotel for a family but a party place for college students. something as simple as a signb that said 'no open containers in the lobby after 10:00 pm' would at least curtail the me The room was somewhat clean but not eaxactly great. The beds were hard and worn. The room was loud most of the night due to the same partiers yelling in the hallway. If you are looking for a quiet place to spend a night this IS NOT the hotel for you as it appeared the hotel not only condones the partying atmosphere but appeared to embrace it by the shear number of party goers. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by All round good. Have become rather frequent visitor however this last visit had some problems which were related to a gathering of guests who were fairly inconsiderate. Both upon arrival and departure I had to take three trips to get my luggage up to the room because there were no carts available.I believe the reason given at the front desk to be true: that guests had taken them to their room and kept them! I suggest a simple system of requiring guest to 'check oout the carts at the front desk so they can be tracked down, with the added request that they be returned to the front desk asap.for other guests to use. I also had to cart my luggage downstairs, three trips again upon departure for the same reason. Also while there, my first day housekeeping did not get to my room until late evening dinner time. I was also short of coffee packets in the morning and soap. I will be back as nothing like these things have happened before. I believe that these will be straightened out as well. It generally a conveniently located for me and a pleasant place to stay. .., July 27, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Stay! The good....Very quiet, very clean, very polite staff. The overall stay was a good experience. The room was very well layed out and neat. The staff was very polite and responsive to any problems or needs. A great bar and lounge. Nicely located with good access to almost any place within the Mobile area. The not so good...Room key locked us out the first three times we left the room. The maintenance staff did finally repair it. The parking situation could be better. Usually had to park across the street and show or swipe room key to enter and exit a parking garage. A little pricey for what you get. Since the room was in my wife's name, would not allow my rewards club membership benefits. We did not try the food after looking at the prices. The conclusion...We would stay there again and recommend to a friend or co-worker. July 25, 2013
