One observation was the room was too large for the 40-inch TV. This is the first time I have every stayed in hotel/motel where the room was this large. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Epitome of Southern Charm and Hospitality I love this hotel! I travel across the country on business, and when in the Mobile area, this is my choice of places to stay. It's not always the most convenient to the area that I am working, but the warm and friendly staff makes it worth any inconvenience. Tashia and Gerald are always so warm and welcoming. It's so refreshing to have them call your name when you walk through the door - "It's so good to see you again" or "Hey, welcome back." This hotel staff sets the bar for customer service - they go above and beyond, from their assistance and recommendations on places to eat, directions, suggestions on sites, etc. Top notch! The rooms are quiet and comfortable. As a Priority Club Member, I am offered an upgraded if one is available. I have had very few issues while staying here - once, a latch lock didn't work, and maintenance repaired while I was out during the day, and another there was a problem with the telephone, and it was replaced once brought to the front desk's attention. I don't expect perfection from any hotel - but, I do expect response and excellent customer service. I have never been disappointed from this hotel. Simply stated - Outstanding on every level - thank you for making a difference! June 19, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cleanliness is Failing. My family has been staying here for years. We love Gerald, he is always so sweet. BUT, the food is horrible and the cleanliness of the hotel has generally gone downhill. The breakfast served is too expensive and not good. The bread that we got was doughy and uncooked, the eggs were dry and cold. We saw several people walk in, look at the food and walk out. But the worst part is, the rooms are unclean. We had two rooms between us and my Aunt complained that when they checked in the bathroom was dirty. So they asked for someone to come and clean and then she said it was still dirty when they returned. Our room was just as bad. The curtains were nasty dirty. The microwave had food and other remains in it. The carpet felt dirty under my feet. While we were there the maid staff was unloading a cart from the elevator one morning and spilled something inside, she swiped at it with a dry towel the rest of that day after people walking on it it was visibly dirty. The remainder of our trip the elevator floor was dirty and sticky. Our group commented on it several times about how the hotel had declined over the year and someone suggested we try a different hotel next trip. Its a shame too. Maybe Gerald shouldnt be so sweet to the staff. April 14, 2013

The breakfast is not the run of the mill hotel fare. Generally, cooked to order. It was a full house this time, so breakfast was a buffet. Staff is very friendly, rooms are pleasant and beds are super comfortable. April 7, 2013
