The hotel's location was prime given the proximity to the Metro and Old Montreal. The staff was above average and did go out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasant. The building and it's fixture are dated and in need of an update.

We've stayed here countless times. Not the same as it was 10 or 15 years ago, but then, what is? Many of the Executive perks have vanished, yet this is still a 'one of a kind' property. The breakfast buffet is repetitive, but wholesome. Book the Executive level if you can!!!

I arrived very tired from the airport with my wife and baby on a stroller with 4 big bags. No one offered me help at the hotel even the trolly, that I have used by myself to transfer my bags from the entrance to my room, was not moving, very old. I'm a priority club gold member, however at the reception they didn't ask me about it, or gave me any privileges.
When I checked in the Reception employee didn't mention anything about breakfast options, he didn't tell me where is the restaurant. I thought the breakfast was included, the employee didn't tell me that it is not included or even tell me its price per person. In the next day, I went to the restaurant by self, the food selection was ver poor also the quality. I started to eat and stayed for minutes as the food was not tasty thinking that the breakfast is included, When I left the restaurant, the waiter told me I must pay 42 Dollars for 2 persons !!
This is the first time to have a bad experience at holidayinn hotels,Holiday inn Express Monteral centre ville was much better !!

The staff was really helpful...and although we are only English speaking we felt very comfortable and welcomed. They were very good in giving directions, and making suggestions. I only wish they had mentioned Schwartz when we stayed there, so we could have experienced the "Best Montreal Beef"...they mentioned the Fairmont Bagels, and that was worth the trip, but I have since learnt that on the same trip we could have experienced Schwartz's as well. So that was disappointing.
Loved the tranquil pool ikn the Lobby, with the little fountains and fish...a peaceful haven, away from home. This is the greatest hotel so convenient, and yet peaceful...amazing.
HIghly recommend it to anyone that is in Montreal.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by PJMI Great location. Comfortable but outdated
We stayed here for a 4-day weekend as part of a wedding block. We loved the hotel's great location in Chinatown and near Old Montreal. Also directly across the street from a Metro station so the entire city is easily accessible. All of the staff that we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size for the price and location, and the bed was very comfortable.
Unfortunately, the hotel's interior just feels old. The rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and other facilities are outdated. The entire place could use an update. The exercise facility is very small. The indoor pool is small as well. The Wi-Fi service was very poor, both in the lobby and in our room. The network was unreliable and very slow if we were lucky enough to connect. The breakfast buffet was adequate, but I did not think it was worth the price. There are several other excellent breakfast options within walking distance for the same price. We only saw the concierge once, and that was on the day that we left town.
